CHAPTER 50 | Small Things Called Love

A love story is one of the stories that are loved by various groups, whether it is a child, teenager to adult. Everyone thinks their love story is the most interesting or tragic and perhaps the best because it's their own. But is it true that what they experience and feel is love? Or just an obsession?

Love is a serious thing and not a play, because it involves feelings and how the mind and heart try to equalize their steps, at least that's what Ken and Laura believe. Since the beginning they decided to become lovers, they have been committed to really serious in living it until now. No matter how difficult the obstacles and how hard the storm tried to destroy them both it would not work. The feelings and beliefs that Ken and Laura have are really very strong. That's what makes them really ready to move on to the next level.

Ken really wanted to propose to his lover, but he realized that he still had nothing, the effort he was living had not gone properly, he said, he only had a small business and was only able to supply a woodworking shop. Still very far from success according to his own size, this is where Ken felt the dilemma, Ken had promised to marry Laura as soon as possible, but what should he do now? Should she rely on her parents and brother constantly? Maybe other people see that Ken is a successful person, his parents have a convection business that is quite large and known to the great designers of Indonesia, Ken could have continued the business of both parents, Ken, but he didn't want to. Ken prefers to expand his own business and follow in his brother's footsteps.

Ken's work is a mess today, his mind is torn between wanting to achieve his dream first or proposing to Laura. These two things are very important to him, Ken wants to be someone that Laura can rely on but, it will happen only when Ken is able to realize his dream first.

For almost a week Ken was like this, leaving for work and going home. That's Ken's routine for a week. This caused some of his work to stall and get out of control. Unlike usual, Ken is always alert when there is a late delivery or any problem and is able to solve it very well, this time like Ken lost his ability. This matter was heard up to the main director, Suci quickly contacted Ken according to Sam's orders and directly called Ken to meet him at the office.

“Good afternoon Mr. Ken, today you are asked to go to the office to see Mr. Sam.” Holy Calls on the phone.

“Good I'll be there soon. Thanks.” Answer Ken.

Ken had expected this and did not try to defend himself later, Ken only followed Sam's orders as the main director and received punishment if he was right wrong. Ken came into the office with a slightly moody face and went straight into Sam's room on the tenth floor.

“Good day sir.” Sapa Ken while knocking on the door.

Sam, who was talking to Mr. Kim, hinted at Ken to come in and told him to wait a while because he was talking to Mr. Kim on the phone.

“......Well Mr. Kim, we discuss it again when later when we meet as promised.” Sam said, closing his phone.

His face that had looked happy and happy immediately looked angry. This time Sam is angry at Ken as his employee and not as his sister, while breaking through the table Sam scolds Ken at that moment.

“What are you doing ha? Late raw materials, late delivery even this month I give you a target but what? None of your tasks are done. All messy.” Sam exclaimed furiously.

Sam is really disappointed in Ken, Sam does not know what problem Ken is facing, all he wants is Ken to work well and every given target must be achieved, he said, no matter Ken is his sister when he's in the office he has to work well.

“Give me your report, I want to see what you have been working on for this one week.” Sam exclaimed in annoyance.

With a flat face Ken gave a map containing the report he had made to report to Sam.Sam saw the work Ken did for one week and none of it was completed. Sam tries to control his emotions and calm himself for a moment.

“I'm sorry sir, I promise this problem won't happen again. And forgive me for mixing personal problems with my work.” Ken shouted firmly while lowering his head and not looking at Sam at all.

“I do not want to know solve this problem, make sure in two days all shipments have been sent and raw materials have been received. Understand you?” Sam's orders.

“Back to factory.” Sam cried while returning to work.

“Good sir. I excuse.” Answer Ken.

Ken comes out of Sam's office and the employees stare at Ken with varying gazes, and some stare in pity and some stare in happiness because Sam scolds Ken.

“Look at him, just because the main director is his brother he can work with his fullest true shamelessness.” Called one of the officers.

Ken who heard that was silent, and did not think about their words and the look of pity directed at him. Ken walked out of the office and returned to the factory to continue his work as per the orders of the chief director.

While driving, Ken contacted several factory suppliers who arrived late and finished everything as soon as possible and immediately controlled the workers to ensure they worked well and minimize the possibility of goods.

Ken was really too focused on paying attention to the work of the workers one by one so that he did not realize Laura contacted him many times. Laura tried to contact Ken that afternoon but Ken did not pick him up, Ken left his phone in his office because he wanted to make sure the workers were working properly.

In another situation, Laura with a very sad face tried to keep contacting her lover. He wanted to tell Ken his anxiety and distress today, but his hope was lost because Ken did not answer his call.

“What is this? Why didn't Ken answer my call? Is he really busy until there is no time to see his phone?’ Laura cried while crying.

Laura returned to finish her work but her mood was unable to cooperate this time. Laura felt her day was heavy and she needed Ken, even just hearing Ken's voice for a moment was enough for her.

“He's really busy. Looks like today I can't reach him at all.” Laura Excited.

Hoping for Ken to call her back a few moments later, but in reality Ken never contacted Laura until the time for Laura to go home.just a word of disappointment that can describe Laura's feelings at this time.

“Can't you contact me? Or send me your word, I really need you Ken.” Laura cried in her heart.

Laura decides to go home and no longer calls Ken that day. Not only Ken, Laura was going through a tough day and felt bored with everything

“Should I catch up with him at the factory? Looks like I really want to see my lover.” Laura Excited.

But his steps came to a halt when his phone rang and it was Ken. Ken called Laura at six in the afternoon, too late, but she was happy that Ken had contacted her.

“Hei.. sorry Lau, I am very busy with my work. I even just saw my phone and saw five calls from you.” Ken cried with a tired tone.

“’It’s ok. Are you ok babe? Looks like you're very tired. You where? let me go there.” Answer Laura.

“Noo.. it’s ok, I'm really busy. What's up?” Ask Ken.

Laura wants to tell Ken today, but it doesn't seem like the time. Laura felt that Ken was also going through a tough thing and did not want to burden her more with today's story that was not too important to her.

“Nothing what.. I just missed you.” Laura replied briefly.

“Just miss me? Did ya? Seems not. What's up?” Sam asked as he laid himself on the sofa.

Laura was really tired of Sam, said the words and her very gentle treatment to him also when Ken was tired though, Ken still listened to the story and Laura's annoyance.

Laura gets into the car and talks to Ken in the car. His spirit seems to be full again when he hears Ken's voice even though it's a little because Ken has to go back to work. That was enough for Laura. As people say, no matter how busy you are and how busy you are, when you make someone your priority, they must have time to talk and hear your voice even if only for a short while.
