CHAPTER 60 | Honesty Meli

Reno's father is currently living alone since Reno married Melli. Therefore he was very lonely and needed a friend, Raka often invited Meli to visit her grandfather at home when her in-laws had free time and this time Meli came alone, he said, it feels heavy to say this but anyway Meli must still say it. By playing her fingers, Meli entered her in-laws' house.

“Papa”, hello Meli.

Mr. Rudy turned his head to see his favorite son-in-law had arrived and hugged him. Mr. Rudy looked very old but he still forced himself to work. Mr. Rudy has only one son, Reno, the man married by Meli, but Reno never even looked or saw the only parent he had.

“Papa is fine?”, asked Meli.

“Yes.. Papa said you came here because papa is very lonely”, replied Mr. Rudy

“So, what do you need to come here?”. asked Mr. Rudy while sipping warm tea provided by his household assistant.

Meli had briefly abandoned her intention to tell her that next week Meli and Reno would attend a divorce hearing. But there is no time left and this is the right time for Meli to say everything to her father-in-law.

“Papa, sorry Meli before because maybe Meli can not be a good daughter-in-law for papa”, said Meli trying to tell the truth.

“Papa understands Meli. The reason you want to take five percent of the shares you give and your relationship with Reno. Papa knows everything before you tell papa”, said Mr. Rudy.

“However unfortunate, why did you never tell papa? Why aren't you being honest with papa? Has no one considered the existence of papa anymore?”. His words held back the crying.

Meli was surprised to hear her in-laws say that, she rounded her eyes and immediately clasped her father's hand when she saw him crying. Meli felt very evil because she kept this from her in-laws.

“No papa. That's not what Meli meant. Meli still considers that papa is Meli's own parents. Meli loves papa. Don't think like that papa, this makes Meli sad”. He hugged his father-in-law.

“Only you think papa. Even papa's own biological children never come to visit papa when papa can still work like this. Can you cancel your divorce with Reno? For papa Meli's sake. For papa”, pinta his father.

I looked into his father's eyes. It feels like he granted his father's wish but he himself is no longer able to undergo a marriage like this. Why should he continue to live with a man who never even loved him at all?

Meli shook her head while looking down while crying. He regretted not being able to grant his father's request. Slowly Mr. Rudy released Meli's hand and smiled while hugging Meli.

“Pardon the already selfish papa Meli. Forgive Reno for hurting you all this time. Whatever your decision, papa will support you, son. And even though you have divorced Reno believe you are still a papa child until whenever also”, said Mr. Rudy let go.

Mr. Rudy's words made Meli's heart full. A warm feeling flowed through his heart and soul. Maybe Meli married the wrong man but he got an amazing father even though Mr. Rudy is not his own biological father. Meli wept and prostrated at the feet of her father-in-law, her tears were no longer able to hold.

“Papa, thank you for being a good papa to Meli all this time. Until whenever papa will remain papa Meli. Meli please after Meli officially divorced with Reno, papa came with Meli”, he asked while prostrating.

The thing he should have heard from Reno his own biological son but this word is spoken from his son-in-law. Mr. Rudy shook his head not because he refused Meli's request but he could not leave his son. By continuing to hold back the sadness of Mr. Rudy refused the subtle invitation of Meli.

“Papa can't leave Reno and then come with you”

Meli nodded her head, she understood that Mr. Rudy loved Reno very much even though Reno never once treated her father well, Meli still begged for Mr. Rudy to come with Meli as he wanted.

“Kapanpapa want to visit Meli's house or want to stay with Meli and Raka, Meli's house door will continue to open for papa”. He said while giving his home address.

“Meli home yes pa. Papa take care of papa”'s health, said Meli bamitan.

It was late in the afternoon and I started cooking for dinner. Prepare everything neatly so that Sam can eat quietly and comfortably. After I finished I immediately bathed Mira before Sam came. I saw Mira still with her world with all the dolls and all the other toys Ken gave her.

“Alright, here's the tea. Then what else does Ken want?”, asked Mira again.

I saw Mira talking to herself while continuing to mention Ken's name every time she played, I understood the feeling of longing experienced by Mira who loved Ken so much. Mira tries to vent her longing on every toy Ken gives her.

“Mira, time to shower. Soon papa will come home”, take me to Mira.

“Are you also going to come home mama?”, asked Mira excitedly.

I got closer to Mira shaking my head and sat down next to Mira along with all sorts of dolls that had been neatly arranged by her. Seeing Mira who missed Ken so much, I stroked my son's hair and kissed him on the forehead.

“Mira misses Ken a lot? How about after shower we contact om Ken with a video call, do Mira want?”, ask me please Mira.

Mira nodded while jumping in excitement while jumping up and suddenly my phone rang, immediately I took my phone and raised the call from my best friend Meli and I left Mira for a moment.

“Ya Mel's. What's the matter?”, I replied

“ Do you have time tomorrow Rein?”, asked Meli.

“Hmm.. Tomorrow then? what time's? I can only morning because tomorrow there will be lunch together at papa” house, I replied.

“Good. I have something to say. Just take Mira with you, Raka misses her little sister”, Meli said.

“Ok. See you Mel”. I ended the call.

I went back to Mira who was cleaning up her toys while I was receiving a call. Time has shown at six o'clock in the afternoon and I call Mira to bathe herself while I clean up all sorts of scattered Mira toys.

While Mira and I were in contact with Ken, I heard the sound of Sam's car horn parked in the garage. I let Mira keep talking to Ken while I greet Sam who has returned home.

“Home home dear”. I said bring her the bag and suit she always let go.

“Where is Mira?”. Sam asked while kissing my forehead.

“Mira is making a video call with Ken. He misses Ken” so much, I replied.

“Saam, tomorrow I meet with Meli with Mira yes.”, I said asking for permission.

“ Alright but do not be late for lunch tomorrow Rein”, he said and kissed me on the cheek.

I never thought I would finally love her. The man I hurt with every deed and word I said that I would never love him, in fact Sam managed to pull me out of my past and forget Rey for good. I ran up and grabbed Sam's arm and leaned my head against his arm.

“What's up? Not usually you like this”, said Sam wonder.

“Nothing. Have I said that I love you Sam?”. I asked while kissing Sam's cheek and then ran away.

“Rein, it looks like Mira should have a sister”. He said while chasing me.
