CHAPTER 79 | Roots of Misunderstanding

I put my foot out of the car and into the house, for a moment my mind was on Meli because she was like a brother to me we were always together even today and I didn't want anything bad to happen to the only friend I cared about so much. When I stepped inside the house my worries seemed to disappear from seeing the beautiful smile of my son Grace staring at me, her eyes seemed to be waiting for me to go home. I held out my hands and smiled at him

“Beautiful mom's son. Grace dear”, said I who took Grace from my nanny.

“She's been fed and given asi?”, I asked

“Already bu”, he replied while bowed

“How much is the remaining stock of breast milk in the freezer?”, I asked while fondling Grace

“Sisa five pockets asi bu”, she replied.

While I was talking to my babysitter, Meli called me back after a few times she didn't take a call from me, I gave Grace back to my nanny and I answered a call from Meli.

“Are you so busy you can't answer my calls?”, I asked Meli

“I'm sorry. I am very busy Rein, I am currently working at company”, Meli replied

I furrowed my brows and I looked at my phone to make sure that the one who was talking to me was my best friend Meli and not someone else. I was quite confused to hear that Meli was working in the company at the moment.

“Company? Meanin? Your business with Dara is over?” many confused.

“No Rein. It's just that I have to lead a company for now”, he replied.

This time I was more confused by what Meli said, I felt that something big had just happened to my best friend. What firm? Who gave it? A lot of questions filled my head and I didn't understand.

“ How can? You become the leader of the company?”, I asked

“I'll say it when we meet. Let me take my time and call after my schedule has been arranged. I am so busy Rein let me call you later”, Meli said and ended her call after giving me an explanation.

From inside the apartment where Ken and Laura live, a commotion is brewing inside, Laura sits down and is silent before she finally leaves for the office, the atmosphere of the house where they live feels very cold without a single word said from them, like the cold war they throw at each other.

“I'll be home very late, so don't wait for me and sleep Lau” Ken said, confirming his appearance.

Laura looked at Ken with a cold look and immediately picked up her bag and left the house without saying anything to Ken. Seeing his wife acting cold to him, Ken picked up his belongings and immediately headed to his office.

Trying to stay professional at work, Ken tries to put aside his personal problems and focus on working out his work even though it is quite difficult for them to do.

“It was very difficult for me to concentrate on working”, Ken complained

The same thing with Laura who can not work well some days because the problems at home are not resolved properly.

“Until when will Ken continue like this to me? Does he no longer want to see me and see me? Why does he always ignore me and prefer his job?”, he murmured annoyed.

As the day goes by, Ken decides to leave his job and go home early to settle the matter with his wife Laura. Trying to give his best to Laura and be what he wants, Ken gets home first and he waits for his wife to come while sitting on the couch.

The door opens and Laura sees Ken at home and sits as if waiting for him to come home, but Laura is still cold to Ken.

“What's up? I come home early and usually but your attitude is still cold to me?”, asked Ken a little annoyed

“For what? There is no need to think about me and finish what has become your duty. I will be fine here”, he said and walked into the room.

Ken stepped on his foot and immediately approached Laura who was in the room while resuscitating herself, he saw that the wife he loved so much was crying. Realizing that Ken is approaching her, Laura immediately wipes away her tears and returns cold.

“You know my job isn't easy Lau, I've just started a company and it requires me to work harder. Please don't act like this to me”, said Ken, holding Laura's hands together

“I try to understand and understand that Ken, I know that the job is very hard for you, but do you ever ask how I am? I have to be home without you, you're too busy with your work and you don't notice me being pregnant. I have to face it alone. Did you know that it was also heavy for me?”, Laura said expressing her frustration.

“Tak notice you? How can you say that. Whenever you feel difficulties I try to be there for you, all your needs I try to fulfill them”

“Not that Ken”, said laura annoyed

“Then what else do you want me to do? What are you demanding of me Lau? I'm trying to be a good husband, trying to keep a close eye on your health and our baby's. What else?”, Ken yelled back.

Laura looked at Ken who was yelling at him, immediately Laura moved out of the bed and out of the room while holding her growing belly. Laura's steps were stopped by Ken's hand holding her back.

“You want to go?”, tany Ken looked at his wife.

“Tonight sleep without me”, said Laura clasping Ken's grasp and leaving him alone.

The hope of Ken who wanted to end their dispute soon was unsuccessful and made the problem even bigger. In two different rooms, they sat and cried, feelings of annoyance and anger mixed into one.

“Did I fail to be a husband?”, Ken asked himself

“I need him the most, doesn't he need me the same as I need him?”, Laura said holding tightness in her chest.

A sad feeling of annoyance and anger mixed in her heart, Laura cried almost every day without being noticed by Ken. As if Ken always walked alone and left Laura, just like Ken did not want Laura dragged down by the hardships she experienced. Ken kept trying on his own and struggled on his own without thinking that he currently had Laura who was no longer his lover but rather his wife.
