CHAPTER 25 - The Sincere Expression

Tom finally came out of the room. In the room lived James and Vanya. Vanya looked at him, but he said nothing to James.

"From all the sacrifices he has made to me, it would be cruel if I refused. Haah . . . I don't want to part with him just because of his background. But ... ," Vanya's mind as she looked at James's face.

Just as Vanya was about to continue speaking in her heart, James suddenly invited her to speak. "How are you doing now?" james asked as he approached the chair next to the patient's bed.

"I . . . feel fine. The tightness that was felt in the chest yesterday was no longer felt anymore" said Vanya nervously because she felt awkward.

"Haah . . . when only three days have not met. Why did it feel so awkward when meeting him again," Inner Vanya sighed.

James sat down on the bedside chair. Then, he looked at Vanya with a face looking forward to a certainty. "Heah . . . I shouldn't be asking this now that you're sick. However, I am very curious about your answer. Do you want to accept me as your lover even though my true identity is a Merman?" james asked with a breath.

Vanya did not answer a single word to James' question just now. He was silent as he looked at the face of James in front of him. Then, James took the initiative to hold Vanya's hand and kissed her. However, Vanya's reaction was still the same. He just kept quiet and said nothing. Even the look on his face did not show any expression.

"Haah . . Please say something. Are you willing to accept me or not?" james asked softly while holding Vanya's hand.

"Well, if you don't want to say anything. I won't force you. However, I still hope that you can accept me," James continued while looking at Vanya.

"His face was as pale as it had not eaten for days. Is it because he always thinks of my answer that he has no appetite? I can't bear to see it in such a state. Alright, I've already made a decision as to the answer to his question," Inner Vanya while looking at James back.

"I'm willing," replied Vanya quietly.

"What's? Try saying it in a louder voice," cried James in shock as Vanya suddenly spoke, but his voice was not heard at all by him.

"I'm willing to accept you as my girlfriend" Vanya said, smiling at James.

"Eh? Did ya? Hurrah! I feel so happy to hear it" James said with a happy smile.

James approached Vanya and sat on the patient's bed. Then, he suddenly hugged her, "Thank you for accepting my shortcomings. I promise I will always protect you in the future even forever. I hope our relationship lasts long until we can finally say the sacred promise of marriage" he said expectantly.

"Yes, I hope so," Vanya replied briefly as she hugged James back.

"ft! I was just kidding. I also hope that our relationship can last until death do us part" Vanya said with a smile.

James smiled sweetly after hearing Vanya's reply. He hugged her back, "Thank you for accepting me for who I am" she said.

Then, Vanya hugged him back tightly, "I should be the one to say thank you very much because you always saved my life" said Vanya.

This moment of haru happened for a while. They both thanked each other for feeling that both of them had an important meaning to each other's lives. Suddenly, there was the sound of a woman knocking on the door of the room where Vanya was being treated.

Tok tok!

"Excuse me! Can I come in? I'm the nurse in charge of checking the state of the patient," said one Sister.
