Mystery of Bu RT
The Batavia Earthquake of 1699

As they stood in front of the mysterious window, a silent and tense atmosphere filled the room. In their minds, the questions rolled like waves in an ocean that never calmed down. How will they travel to the past? What will they find there? And how will historical events affect them?

The full moon illuminated the night, portraying an atmosphere full of wonders. The moonlight bounces on the surface of the window, creating an almost magical effect. The young ones stared at the window with puzzled gazes, trying to understand how this was all possible.

"We have to try it" said Rizki, who was full of curiosity. "We'll never know the truth if we don't try."

They nodded in agreement, then approached the window. After a moment, they felt a soft touch of cool night wind caress their faces as the window emitted a calm blue light. They felt their bodies light as if they were floating in the air. And then, with the blink of an eye, they were in the same place, but different.

They see themselves, but in very different clothes and completely unfamiliar surroundings. They were in the middle of an old city filled with colonial buildings. The streets were made of bricks filled with people in ancient clothes and horse carriages that passed here and there. They know they have traveled to the past.

"Heaven, this is Batavia in 1699" Rizki said in a trembling voice. "This is the time when the city is still under the control of the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie)."

They strolled around this historical city, watching every detail closely. They saw hard-working people in the harbor, busy merchants in the market, and VOC soldiers guarding the fortresses. It all felt so lifelike, as if they had become a part of the past itself.

As the sun rose, they saw a large board telling the date: 5 January 1699. This is the day to come, the day when a great earthquake will shake Batavia. They realize that they have a chance to save the lives of the people who live in this city.

"We have to tell them" Maya said firmly. "We have knowledge of the future, and we can save them."

However, Rizki shook her head. "But we have to be careful. We can't change history too much. It could have unexpected consequences."

Their conversation came to a halt when they heard the conversations of the people around them. They approached a group of citizens who were talking in front of the market.

"You know, I heard news of an impending earthquake" one of them said. "Maybe we should get ready."

This conversation left them amazed and a little relieved. It seemed like some people in this city already had warnings about the impending disaster. But there were still many who did not know, and the young ones felt a responsibility to tell them.

They toured the city, talked to people, and tried to convince them to get ready for the coming earthquake. Not everyone believed in them, but some ended up listening and began to make preparations.

However, as night falls and the earthquake draws closer, the youngsters feel that they have not done enough. They could not stop this earthquake, and they knew that many people would suffer.

Suddenly, amidst the darkness of the night, they saw an old woman sitting alone in front of an old church. The woman looked at them with wise eyes.

"You're time travelers, aren't you?" ask the woman.

They nodded. "We came from the future, to try to save the people here."

The woman smiled gently. "You've done the best you can. Sometimes we cannot change our destiny. But you have given warning to those who may have survived."

Suddenly, a powerful earthquake shook the city. Buildings collapsed, and people cried out in fear. The young ones felt their bodies lifted by the strong tremors, and they knew that right now they had to go back to the present.

In the blink of an eye, they returned to the room with a mysterious window. They were all gasping for breath, feeling struck by the experience they had just experienced.

"We can't stop the earthquake" Rizki said in a distressed voice.

They all pondered for a moment, pondering about the wonders and consequences of their journey into the past. And when they saw the window return, they knew that the story was still going to continue, with more mysteries waiting to be solved.

When they returned to the present, their bodies felt heavy. They were standing inside the same room with a mysterious window, but there was something different. The room now looked darker and neglected. The window that had previously emitted a calm blue light, now looked dead and gloomy.

"What's with this window?" ask Maya, grabbing the window handle. However, the moment he tried to open it, he felt the hilt was locked.

Rizki tried to help. "Maybe something happened during our trip to the past. Maybe this window doesn't work anymore."

They tried hard to open the window, but remained tightly locked. At that moment, they heard the sound of heavy steps approaching from outside the room.

The door opened violently, and in the doorway appeared an old-fashioned dressed man with a tall hat and a face full of anger.

"Who are y'all? What are you guys doing here?" he swung his sword.

The young people were surprised. They don't know how to explain their situation. They tried to explain about the windows and their time travel, but the man did not appear to believe.

"You must be an intruder or a thief!" the man said angrily. "I'll take you to court!"

Maya, Rizki, and their other friends panic. They don't know how to go back to the present, and now they're in real danger.

Suddenly, the old woman they had met in the past appeared behind the man. He raised his hand gently and said, "Wait a moment. They were uninvited guests, but they did not come with any evil intentions."

The man turned his head towards the old woman, his face still full of anger. "Who are you and how do you know them?"

The old woman smiled gently. "I am the window guard. I know about their time travel because I also have this power. They are guests who accidentally get lost in time. They're not dangerous."

The man seemed to hesitate for a moment, then put down his sword. "All right, if so. But they have to get out of here."

The youngsters are relieved, but they know they have to find a way to get back to the present. They asked the old woman for help.

The woman nodded. "I can help you come back, but you must promise not to use this power to change the past. This power must be guarded wisely."

They all agreed with the promise. The old woman guided them to the front of the window, and with a blink of an eye, they returned to the present.

When they stood back in the room with the mysterious window, they felt relieved. They have learned a lot about the consequences of their actions and the power they have.

Maya, Rizki, and their friends look towards the window that now looks calm and radiant again. They knew that the window was a doorway to history filled with mystery and wonder.

They reflect on their experiences and learn that such power must be used wisely. They should not try to change the past or disrupt the flow of history.

As a sign that they had understood this lesson, they all closed the window together. They know that the window should be well guarded and only used in emergencies.
