Kevin POV
Since Jess's arrival. I know that our beloved woman is not in a good heart. His wide smile looked so gloomy in my pretty observant eyes, seeing the change.
I know something happened to my sister. A great woman devoted to the orphanage where my other sisters and I lived.
A place where children are not wanted by parents.
This place was not an orphanage. Just a two-story minimalist house, with a husband and wife living happily in it.
But on a clear morning. The sound of the baby's cry stole the attention of the two. And that little baby is my sister, Jess. Mary's mother and Joseph's father took care of the baby as their son. Incidentally until the fifth year of their marriage, Mary's mother was never given the trust to get the gift of a mother.
But a few years since Jess' arrival. Another poor baby keeps popping up. Including myself, Yulia. Until it became this place now, as a shelter for children who are not wanted by bastard parents.
Mother Maria greeted sister Jess with a smile. Clearly visible longing in the eyes of our foster mother but tried to him alone.
Mother Maria greeted sister Jess with questions, as well as eyes looking for someone.
Yes, Maria's mother is looking for the whereabouts of our sister-in-law, Kent. But as usual, the man never showed up even if he just greeted us to this place.
I could see the disappointment on his old face. The woman looked sad but still put on her best smile. Hugged Jess tightly, as if Jess had been gone for a long time.
Just last week, Jess visited us, bringing all kinds of food like she does today.
My brother always took the time to visit us. Like his promise before the wedding. We will still be his top priority despite being married.
And Jess kept her promise. Although we have to deny sometimes the time if he is in his own difficulties, which we do not know.
Today, I saw my sister Jess get off her favorite bike. I can see how grim that pretty face is. But when we looked at our brothers playing in the front garden, the smile was very sweet and beautiful.
My heart is sad. I know that sweet smile is just a soft smile. There are things that Jess tries alone.
POV end
Jess spilled her body on her wooden bed just before she got married. There is a longing to be back there, but the destiny is different.
There is a responsibility, although it is not a necessity. Being the wife of a handsome and well-established man named Kent Rahardjo.
Blesteran men of Javanese European descent. The mother is Russian, while the father is native of Javanese descent, Jogjakarta.
Clamps
Kevin smiled when he saw his brother closing his eyes. He knew that the woman was not sleeping.
Jess opened her eyes and smiled warmly at Kevin. The woman then sat on the back of the bed.
Kevin sat on the side of the bed patted gently by Jess.
"You want to say something?" Kevin was silent for a moment. Sighing deeply then gazing at Jess' brown bead with a difficult gaze.
"How's sister's wedding? Is sister happy? If not, then come home. We're fine to lose a donor, as long as we can get back together like we used to. Me, Yulia and Ben have been working for half a day. At least enough to keep the kitchen smoke billowing. I can't let you sacrifice more. It's not fair." Kevin sobbed as he finished his sentence.
Jess' heart throbbed violently, when she saw the tears of sorrow so deep flowing profusely on the smooth cheeks of her sister.
Jess grabs Kevin's body that looks shaken. The woman patted Kevin's shoulder gently to ease her cries.
"Shhuutttt. Everything is fine regardless of being happy or not. Happiness is relative to where we perceive it. Brother is happy to have you. Whatever the reason for this marriage, it's not just you. So no need to think about anything too heavy. Just focus on your school and your lessons. Stop working, you'll face the final exam for school graduation. Brother wants you to get the best grades. You got it, hmmm?"
Kevin was unable to make a sound, just a small nod that he could give.
Without them noticing, there had been a pair of ears listening to the conversation. His heart hurts like it's in a squeeze. Her mistake made one of her children suffer. What a shame to tear his heart.
Step back, take her to the back garden. Sitting in a gazebo chair while reminiscing about the past. Where the husband still exists. They are a happy family. With lots of cute and adorable kids.
Now all memories remain. In fact, he was the one who plunged the child into the black hole, without the slightest gap to see a speck of light at the end of the road.
Elsewhere, Kent got out of his car greeted by a cheerful scream from a young girl.
The man's smile rose perfectly, stretching out his hands to greet the little girl.
A warm hug full of longing he gave to the girl. A woman walked up to the two with a smile.
Grab Kent's hand to kiss him as a sign of filial piety.
"Why did it just come? Alissa whines almost every day asking about her papa." The woman complained a little.
"Sorry, my business can't be left out. Come on in, I'm hungry. Did you cook my favorite meal?" The woman smiled sweetly then nodded.
The three walked to the front porch with Kent holding the little girl, also holding the woman's arm. What a happy and perfect little family.
After lunch, Kent put the boy to bed in his room upstairs. After making sure the boy slept well, Kent went back downstairs.
It looks like the young woman was sitting on the sofa of the family room as deliberately waiting for the presence of Kent there.
His smile never faded. In these few days, his face was filled with gloom.
"Eli's asleep?" Kent nodded as he dropped his ass on the single sofa. Makes the woman's smile fade away a little.
"How's your wedding? Does he know about me and Eli?" Ask the woman in the middle of silence. Both of them with Kent always make it awkward. They rarely meet. Kent will only show warmth when he is with his daughter Alissa.
However if they were just the two of them, Kent would return to his original attitude. Cold and flat.
"I haven't had time to say it. Maybe next time, he hasn't asked me anything since we got married. I don't think it's necessary to start a showdown, if you can make peace with the situation without having to tell him." The disappointment was clearly visible on the woman's face.
There is a sense of unwillingness but can not do anything.
"I'm just worried that your wife accidentally met while we were together. I'll be stamped as an actor. I don't want my daughter's mental breakdown because of adult problems." His words began to slow down.
Kent took a long breath. Staring at the woman who was looking down deeply in her seat.
"Mel, try to be mature. I can't immediately say anything about our relationship. Especially my parents don't know about you and Eli. They only knew Jess was my only wife. I won't forget you guys, I love Eli so much." Kent left Melisa alone in his will.
The woman was visibly upset, as Kent had no intention of persuading her in the least.
"You belong to us Kent. You're the father of my daughter Alissa. I'm not gonna let that parasite take you away from me and Eli." Melisa muttered looking at the door of Kent's room that had just been sealed shut.
