When doing a job in the forest or often also called as field work, it is not uncommon for us to bring or take specimens for further purposes with the data that has been collected.
A specimen is a part or whole of a researched object taken for further research purposes. In addition, the specimen also serves as an advanced identification tool. Therefore the usefulness of specimens is very large in a research data. Data will be greatly affected by the presence or absence of collected specimens. Applicable to quantitative data collected in the field.
Specimens can be objects taken directly or photograph of a research object. If the specimen taken in the form of a fresh object then it is divided into two kinds, namely wet specimens and dry specimens. Well this wet specimen is usually in the form of fruit or roots, culm kuliy or other parts preserved using alcohol and stored in containers such as bottles. While dry specimens are preserved dried. In my case the dry specimen we took was a herbarium.
What is the herbarium? Herbarium is a preservation of the part of the plant taken can be a leaf or flower that is then dried by stacking in the newspaper and doused with alcohol. Later it will be dried using an oven or dried.
The expeditions we carry out require specimens as supporting data for the purposes of reports and documentation as well to ensure that the data is valid. Almost every team has their own specimens except bird and ecotourism research teams that have documentation only in the form of photos.
The specimens we collected were supposed to be brought home with us to Jakarta. But because there was a little problem during the clearance, then we could not take him home. At first there was no problem with the permission to take the specimen, but because towards the end of being in the hall there are LIPI people who visit the hall then inevitably we also have to take care of permission to take specimens to the conservation hall.
Why do I need permission? The answer is because the specimens we took came from conservation areas and some of them belong to protected species by the state. Permission management takes about four days to a week, so we do not have time to take care of it.
Nevertheless, the specimen will still be sent by the hall to us after the exit permit. Why not just take it without a permit if you do not have time to take care of it? The answer is because when at the airport all the goods we carry will be checked in advance and if the specimen is found then we will be charged an excise fee or our specimen will be held to be given to the party authorized to handle it.

We have arrived in Jakarta and the first day after in Jakarta the activity we did was college. First day of the new semester. I don't think time seems to pass so quickly. Just felt yesterday to be a new student, uh not yearsya already entered the final semester only.
However, the responsibility for the continuation of the expedition has not yet been completed. There are still many scientific reports that we have to complete related to the data of yesterday's expedition. Not to mention financial statements and other necessities. The most important thing is the establishment of a national seminar committee that will discuss the data of the expedition.
Do not expect after arriving in Jakarta to relax. More and more work needs to be done outside of college hours. The number of things that must be prepared makes you actually more often stay at the secret society or even forced to go home early from campus. Meeting after meeting was held and one by one has arrived at the final decision including on the schedule of the national seminar.

One week after being active like students in general, Dani got a call from the national park hall informing him that the permit letter of the finished specimen and the specimen still left in the hall could already be sent to Jakarta.
But not only the specimen, but Mr. Didit who will immediately take him because he also has business in Jakarta.Sekalian want to visit the campus which was once also a place to study, where he studied,mr. Didit decided to bring our own specimen. Yes Mr. Didit is an alumnus of our campus in the same jirusan as us today.
During the evening meeting Dani told the good news to all the participants of the meeting. We plan to welcome the arrival of Mr. Didit who according to information Dani will arrive in Jakarta three days later. Glad to be able to meet again with him, when only a week back home but already miss it.

The appointed day has arrived. Later in the day Mr. Didit will arrive at the campus. It just so happens that there is no scheduled lecture this afternoon. Some children decide to go home after the last class this morning. There are also those who go to the library or the tomb in the canteen. We who want to meet Mr. Didit wait on campus in a corridor that has tables, chairs and wifinya which is often used as a hangout by students of our majors.
What is needed if there is a seat and wifi. Complete is especially plus snacks that are located beautifully on the table. While waiting for Dani and some people who were picking up Mr. Didit we discussed the continuation of the meeting last night.
The name of the student is inseparable from the name of the organization and meeting. That's what we are now, even from morning until morning back on campus for the organization. Sometimes the schoolwork is forgotten. But not often because after all college is our main goal while the organization of obligations outside of college. Haha is the same.
Dani and Mr. Didit arrived at the campus carrying a large box containing specimens that had been stacked into one container. After meeting with us, Mr. Didit decided to meet several lecturers who had taught him at once and wanted to stay in touch. How the lecturer-doctor has an important role in the course of his life.
We are still on campus until night because after meeting the lecturer Mr. Didit with us gathered in the secret.Meeting with friends during college who have never met for a long time is a pleasure in itself.
Specimens that have been in hand immediately removed from the box and separated according to the distribution of the tax. Luckily nothing was damaged, and after this the specimen will be used to help with the report.
