Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality

Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● THIRTY-TWO : A Snack Before Going Home

Adrian is flabbergasted to hear the terms Ryanthi gives him. The man scratched his forehead for a moment, then said, "Only that?" tanyakanya.

"Yes. That's all," Ryanthi replied convincingly.

"Um, okay. For a mechanical engineering graduate, it doesn't seem like it's going to be difficult. Yeah, I mean .. it's just cake and ...." Suddenly, Adrian laughed crisply. "Why didn't you ask me to make a thousand temples, complete with lakes and boats overnight?" Adrian's tone of question is full of irony. He acted as if it was something easy for him.

"If you can do it, it will be much better. I feel so flattered," Ryanthi responded.

"No. I think it's too heavy for the present. I have to take care of the land acquisition, pay the project workers, because I won't be able to do it alone" Adrian said, with both hands in his pants pocket.

"As far as you are," Ryanthi replied as she pressed the bell.

"Why should it be cake?" Suddenly, Adrian protested.

"I thought you agreed."

"Yes, I agree. But why cake and ...." Adrian had not yet finished his words, when the door opened. A servant invited them in.

"I mean, why not the others?"

"What-like?" ask Ryanthi.

"Yes, maybe a statement of love in public" Adrian replied lightly.

"Ah, don't hope," Ryanthi refused.

They stopped the chat earlier, after seeing Surya appear there welcoming the two. Surya greets Adrian, then smiles gently at Ryanthi. He took the man to the living room. Meanwhile, Ryanthi went straight to her room.

Two cups of warm drinks were served by Ratna, the housekeeper for the two men.

"May Ryanthi not trouble Mas Adrian," said Surya.

"Ryanthi's a good girl, but .. sorry. He was a bit stubborn," Adrian replied with a smile.

"That's what Ryanthi is like. Farida had educated her so hard, that she grew up to be an independent girl. However, it is very humble and simple." Surya answered with a proud smile, while remembering the daughter.

"I thought, you have no daughter other than Vera." Adrian looked at Surya with an investigating highlight. Actually, he wants more information about Ryanthi. Adrian hopes Surya is willing to tell him a little bit about the girl.

"No. Ryanthi is the daughter of my first wife. Incidentally, we separated when he was about five years old. A while ago, her mother died. So, I can't possibly leave her alone." Surya begins his story about Ryanthi.

"Oh, so." Adrian mangosteen. At least, there was one important point he got today, about Ryanthi's past life. Adrian hopes for something else he'll get right out of the girl's mouth.

Adrian recalled, Ryanthi once said that he had lost his mother, as well as the lover who is now Vera's husband. However, Ryanthi never told him in detail. Maybe Adrian had to lure the girl in to tell her.

Adrian was still lost in thought when Ryanthi came to them. He took a shower and changed his clothes. The girl looked so fresh in Adrian's eyes that she could not take her eyes off the beautiful girl.

Ryanthi is not unaware of Adrian's attitude towards her. But he pretended not to know. Ryanthi is more focused on her father.

"How was the party today?" ryanthi asked while sitting next to Surya.

"As you saw earlier before leaving with Mas Adrian. Nothing changed until the show was over. Dad's feet feel numb, because they have to stand for a long time," complained Surya sambi rubbing his calf.

Ryanthi laughed widely, showing off a pair of dimples on both of her cheeks, which made her look even sweeter. Of course, making Adrian more comfortable to linger staring at him.

"Marriage perception is boring. I felt it when Andrea got married. Guests come without any pause." Adrian chiming.

He hoped that Ryanthi would take a glance at him once. But the girl still didn't care.

"Yes, that's right. I didn't know Vera invited that many people at her wedding earlier," Surya said, shaking his head.

"It's okay, Dad. As long as the party goes well. I'm sorry I left before the show was over" Ryanthi said without looking at Adrian.

"It's okay. I understand that very well, "Surya replied gently and understandingly.

Surya looked at him for a moment, then smiled. He then held onto Ryanthi's hand while patting her slowly.

"Father please, you are enjoying today with Mas Adrian. He's a good man. We're club mates." Surya said as he glanced at Adrian, who responded to his remark with a calm smile.

The flattery made by Surya, made Adrian dare to express his intentions.

"Actually, there's one thing I want to tell you" Adrian said, glancing at Ryanthi at a glance.

"Oh, sure. Go ahead. Do not hesitate and do not be too formal, because we are not in the boardroom of directors," joked Surya who immediately made Adrian smile again.

"Um, here. Coincidentally, my mom invited Ryanthi to dinner at her house this week. However, Ryanthi wants me to ask permission directly to you. So, what do you think?" adrian asked as he glanced at Ryanthi. Adrian was grateful, because the lure worked.

Ryanthi finally glanced at Adrian, though with glaring eyes. He did not expect that Adrian would discuss the matter directly with Surya. Meanwhile, Adrian is still sitting relaxed with a smile and his distinctive style.

Surya turned to Ryanthi for a moment, before turning his gaze to Adrian, who was still waiting for an answer from him. "Ryanthi always knew what she had to do" Surya replied.

The middle-aged man then turned back to the beautiful girl next to him.

"Why do you have to ask Mas Adrian to ask permission from the Father of all? I'm not going to ban anything you do, as long as you're with someone I'm sure can take good care of you. I think, Mas Adrian knows how to do that," said Surya, who again made Adrian soar. The man smiled broadly triumphantly and was very satisfied.

Ryanthi forced herself to smile, when she heard the words from her father. He did not know what to answer, because at that time all he wanted was to take Adrian out of the living room and scold him all out.

Ryanthi thought for a moment. Incidentally, it sounded nine times. An idea came to Ryanthi's mind.

"Adrian, don't you have to get out of town early tomorrow? You better go home and rest. Moreover, you like to drive yourself anywhere like my father," Ryanthi said in a very gentle manner.

Adrian smiles sweetly at Ryanthi. He knew that the girl would soon make a long speech in front of him. Adrian will really like it, so he immediately agreed to say goodbye.

Adrian said goodbye to Surya. The middle-aged man led her to the door. He did not want to linger standing there, for fear of disturbing the two lovebirds.

"That's great. What do you mean say that in front of my dad?" ryanthi asked annoyed. He stood up while folding his hands on his chest.

Adrian closed the car door again. He had an intention to enter. Adrian looked at the girl with maximum calmness.

"Today, you've become the most annoying person for me! First, you scolded me! Second, you apologize easily and act as if nothing happened! Third, why do you have to look in front of my father? Have you run out of better ideas than this?" Ryanthi scolds Adrian, though in a quiet voice for fear of causing an uproar.

Adrian did not answer. He just stood up with his calm demeanor.

"I told you that I wouldn't go to dinner at your mother's house. Don't you understand too? What do I have to explain it in order for you to understand it?" ryanthi again.

Adrian didn't say anything. He only responded to Ryanthi's annoyance with the same attitude as before. This time, Adrian smiled at the girl.

Seeing Adrian's attitude as if not responding to his anger, Ryanthi became even more irritated. "Why are you? I was angry and you were smiling. You think I'm joking? Absolutely outrageous!" ryanthi's grumbling is upset. She turned her back, so she turned her back to Adrian.

Meanwhile, Adrian was still looking at him with a smile that had not changed since.

"I'd rather be scolded like this, than have to watch you shut up and not talk to me in the least" she said softly.

Ryanthi was stunned to hear Adrian's words just now. He likes his words, but Ryanthi still has to hold the price, by not poking Adrian at all. Ryanthi just kept putting on a sullen face.

"Actually, I still want to talk to you a lot. However, someone told me to go home and rest. I have to appreciate someone who already cares about me a lot." Adrian ends his words, with innuendo that makes Ryanthi become misbehaved.

Adrian then went forward. He stood in front of Ryanthi. The girl turned her head and looked at him for a moment, before completely melting as suddenly Adrian kissed her forehead long enough. Ryanthi can do nothing but close her eyes, until Adrian ends the romantic scene.

"Don't get mad. I'll make you the most delicious cake. If it tastes bad, we will give the cake to Vera and her husband, as their wedding gift" Adrian chirped lightly.

Ryanthi gave a smug lip of laughter, upon hearing Adrian's ridiculous and outrageous words earlier. She just lowered her head, hiding her beautiful face that was blushing in embarrassment.

"I'll go home first, Good night" whispered Adrian. He got into the car, then started the engine. After that, Adrian went with the gaze of Ryanthi and Arshan, who had been the audience of Adrian and Ryanthi romantic scenes. Arshan watched it from the balcony where Ryanthi used to contemplate.
