Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality

Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● FOUR : Missing The Father

"Well," Ryanthi answered briefly. At that time, he was very tired and sleepy, so he only answered briefly.

"Mom, what is your relationship like now? I think you've been dating long enough. Has Arshan not expressed any serious intentions to you?" ask Farida more clearly.

Ryanthi did not answer. His eyes were back closed. He was also thinking of the right answer to give to Farida. Ryanthi only yawned a few times. He was really lazy, if he had gotten such a question from his mother.

Farida seemed to understand the attitude of her daughter. When Ryanthi chooses silence, it means that the girl does not like the topic of conversation they are discussing. Farida was very curious. He just wanted to know the extent of his daughter's love story. During this time, Ryanthi rarely told her about it.

"Arshan's a good man, isn't he? It seems, she can also count on you to look after and protect you," Farida said, as if he was luring Ryanthi to talk.

"Who said? Why do you think that far? I don't need anyone to take care of me. I still have Mom." Ryanthi held Farida's hand, then played her finger. What he did was exactly what he did a dozen years ago.

"What's the matter, son? Are you fighting again?" search Farida. He became more curious.

Ryanthi is not the kind of girl who is open in every way to her mother. He often told me a few things. However, there was also something he kept to himself. One of them is every time he has a problem with Arshan.

It's not that I don't want to share my story with my mom. Ryanthi just doesn't want to if her personal problems become a burden on Farida's mind. Moreover, with the health condition of the woman who is not stable.

"Don't worry, Mom. My relationship with Arshan is fine. He's just busy. So, I haven't stopped by here yet" Ryanthi explained, giving Farida the answer she wanted.

"For the matter that you mean, I haven't thought about it at all. I just want to make Mom happy first. If God permits, may after all our great ideals be realized" Ryanthi hoped.

"You're twenty-three years old, son." Farida's tone seemed to be reminding her daughter, that the girl's age was enough for a household.

Ryanthi got up from her sleep. He sat near his mother. Back grabbed, then clasped hands wrapped in wrinkled skin of the middle-aged woman. "Didn't you want me to continue studying abroad?"

"Yes, of course. That's Mom's greatest hope at any time" Farida said.

"I will fight to make that happen. I want to make Mom proud." Ryanthi smiled wryly. "Now, I'd better get some rest. I have to fry the donuts first." Ryanthi moved from her seat. He brought the last pan to the kitchen. The girl has to finish her job.

......................

That afternoon, Ryanthi had just finished taking a shower. Meanwhile, Farida was again bedridden. After getting dressed, Ryanthi approached her mother. He brought a plate of rice accompanied by a vegetable soup containing carrots and chicken meat. That's the simple menu that Ryanthi often serves for the mother, who must be defeated by the disease.

Farida seemed to be asleep. In fact, he had not been able to take medicine. Ryanthi chooses to sit by the mother's bed, then looks at the woman who has begun to age.

There were several sheets of white hair, among Farida's black hair. His skin is starting to wrinkle. Ryanthi's gaze turned to the mother's hand. Although not as strong as it used to be, Ryanthi will always remember that hand that has made him become what he is now. He knew very well how strong a Farida's hand was, so as to sustain their lives until it could become what it is today.

Farida has struggled so hard, that Ryanthi can attend school. Although his dream to continue his studies has not been realized, Ryanthi does not regret it. The short-haired girl was already very grateful, as it could help ease Farida's burden.

Touching the mother's forehead. Farida's fever has not gone down. Ryanthi wants to wake him up, but does not dare. He tidied up the food he was carrying by the bedside, then closed it tightly. After that, Ryanthi moved out of the room.

The girl in short toen pants sat pensively alone. I don't know what he's thinking. Too many things revolve around a Ryanthi's head. In such a silent atmosphere, all the problems of life seemed to approach and enter his mind. One of the obstacles for the beautiful girl is the continuation of her relationship with Arshan.

The man who had been in a loving relationship for quite a long time with her, had not come back there after the last time they had a fight. Ryanthi thinks that Arshan is still very upset, as Ryanthi is considered to be more concerned with other things than himself. Arshan is crazy about Ryanthi. It was not uncommon for the man to be so possessive.

Ryanthi's daydream comes to a halt, when she hears Farida's voice beginning to awaken. The girl immediately went into the room to see the condition of the mother. Farida was trying to wake up. It seemed, he wanted to take out a glass on the table next to the bed.

"Mother," Ryanthi scolded softly. He rushed to Farida. Ryanthi immediately picked up the glass, then helped her mother drink. After that, Farida again laid down her weak body.

"Eat first, Mom. I've prepared it" Ryanthi said, pointing to a plastic tray by the bedside.

Farida looked at sayu Ryanthi. The woman nodded slowly. His body seemed very weak, to the point that he did not have the strength to speak even though.

Without saying much, Ryanthi immediately picked up the food on the plastic tray. He had to force Farida to eat, so that the mother could take her medicine. Meanwhile, Farida intends to wake up again, but Ryanthi prevents her. "It's okay Mom. Just lie down," said the girl softly.

Farida kept looking at her little daughter who was now an adult. Then he smiled. The woman's beautiful parasites gradually faded away, changing with a pale face full of burden due to the pain.

Ryanthi feeds Farida slowly. A spoonful of food went into the mother's mouth, though it was not all spent. But that was more than enough.

"Mom should take medicine first. After that, you can sleep again" Ryanthi said with a gentle smile. He then prepared the medicine that had been given by the doctor from the health center.

Farida did not argue much. Slowly, the woman got up. While sitting leaning back, he put in the medicine one by one. When she finished, Farida lay down.

"Please go to sleep again, ma'am. I have a middle room. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me," said Ryanthi, who only replied with a weak nod from Farida.

Ryanthi then stood up. He looked at his mother's face, which closed his eyes. There were many feelings raging in the heart of the girl. He had not taken Farida to the hospital, so that the mother would get treatment from a much more expert doctor.

Ryanthi doesn't know what sick Farida is. The middle-aged woman never complained. The doctor said Farida needed enough rest.

Actually, Ryanthi wishes for the father to come and see how they are. However, it was something impossible, as he himself did not know whether his father was alive or dead.

Ryanthi still has hope, though she never reveals it. Deep down, he began to miss the man. Ryanthi is not sure if the father feels the same way. However, he always prayed that God could give the best way for himself as well as Farida.

There is no greater desire that Ryanthi is focused on now than Farida's recovery. Ryanthi will continue to strive to make the woman healthy again as before. Anyhow.
