Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality

Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● FORTY-FIVE: Vera Turning Point

Arshan stared fixedly at Ryanthi, as the girl stood before him. From the look on the face shown by the ex-lover, Arshan can already guess what Ryanthi will discuss with him.

"Vera complained to you?" tanyanya while sharing a cynical smile.

"Actually, I don't want to interfere in your domestic affairs. However, I just want to remind you that Vera is pregnant. So, don't burden her with anything unimportant" Ryanthi scolded.

"Vera sleeps with a lot of men. Then why am I responsible?" Arshan has yet to accept his marriage to Vera.

"I don't think I need to talk about that anymore, because I can ask you back. Why did you play with him? But it has become an old story. If you don't want to acknowledge the baby Vera has as your child, then let her go through her pregnancy in peace."

Arshan did not answer. The man was at a loss for words. Mind empty. He was confused about what he was going to do.

"I also don't understand why you've suddenly invited her to move." Ryanthi stared at Arshan who looked lazy.

Arshan was silent for a moment, before responding to Ryanthi's words. "You think I like to see you making out with Adrian in this house?"

Ryanthi's face changed immediately upon hearing Arshan's reply. "I've never done anything with Adrian in this house," he said.

"Then, what did I see that night here? On this terrace!"

Instantly, Ryanthi became misbehaved. Even though it is normal for lovers. "It's none of your business!" sergeant Ryanthi as he passed away from Arshan, carrying his clumsy taste.

Meanwhile, Arshan also returned to his room. The presence of the man there immediately greeted Vera. "Have you had breakfast?" tanyanya is attentive. He ignored last night's fight with the man.

"I'm sorry if I made you angry last night. I should have, I'm according to, not even stubborn," Vera said. It was obvious that he was afraid of losing Arshan.

"I'm also sorry for talking too rudely to you. If you'd rather stay here, that's okay" Arshan replied. His attitude was much softer than before.

"No, it's not that. If you want us to move, then I agree. After all, who knows I could be closer to your family" Vera said. She just wanted to make her husband happy.

Arshan stared fixedly at the woman who had now become his wife. "Are you sure, Ver?"

Vera nodded confidently. "Whatever I'll do, as long as I don't lose you," she replied slowly as she continued to hold her growing belly.

The bad taste lurched in Arshan's heart. Vera really loved him. He was willing to give up all the attributes of luxury for her sake. However, Arshan still continues to expect Ryanthi, who clearly already has another heart patch, Adrian. His superior.

Arshan kept thinking. Maybe it's time to open your heart to Vera. The woman will soon give birth, even if it's whose child. However, it was Arshan who was currently in charge as her husband.

Until nightfall, Arshan was still pensive. He watched Vera who was sleeping restlessly and looked uncomfortable. A large stomach makes it difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position.

The night is getting late. Meanwhile, Arshan was still sitting on the sofa. No one knows that from the time he got married, he didn't sleep in bed with Vera.

"Why not sleep? Don't you have to work tomorrow?" ask Vera. "Tomorrow I'll talk to papa and mama. Just chill. I'll explain everything. Even if my mom and dad don't agree, I'll ask Ryanthi for help. Papa must have followed him" said Vera again trying to convince Arshan that he was ready to move from there.

"Why does it always have to involve Ryanthi? It's our household problem. Instead, we take care of ourselves and do not need to involve others" Arshan refused.

Vera smiled at Arshan's words as if he had started to keep his distance from Ryanthi.

"alright. It's up to you. I'll persuade papa and mama." Vera looked sleepy. Sometimes, he closed his eyes.

Arshan nodded in agreement. "Yes, already. Now, you'd better go to sleep" Arshan said. He also laid his body on the sofa. However, it is too difficult to close your eyes. Arshan looked up at the ceiling. His mind drifted out of nowhere. His heart also seemed not to be there, because at that moment he felt empty.

................

As promised to Arshan, that afternoon Vera met Surya and Maya. The pregnant woman will speak and ask permission. Although a bit hesitant, but Vera ventured to reveal her plans and Arshan, who would move from the house to Arshan's parents' house.

Maya doesn't approve of that. While Surya, still considering it first.

"Surely Ryanthi influenced Arshan, to invite you to move from here. Ryanthi wants to rule this house alone. He wants to be free here" Maya said. As usual, he could not keep his mouth well.

Maya's spicy remarks, of course, made Surya as Ryanthi's real father feel annoyed and offended. "Ryanthi is my real son! He's entitled to this house and everything I own! You don't just talk, Ma!" sergeant Surya is irritated.

"If Ryanthi is like that, then why would she want to continue her education abroad, not here? You are a habit! Speak does not use the brain! Nothing blames Ryanthi," Surya continued. The man was really angry at Maya who always just spoke.

"Yes, Ma. After all, Ryanthi had nothing to do with my planned move to Arshan's parents' house. All this time, he always helped me. Ryanthi was even more attentive, when compared to Mama who would rather go to the gravestone than take me to the doctor." Vera chimed in, making the Maya even more cornered. Finally, the red-haired woman chose silence.

"According to Papa, as long as you are ready and there is no coercion at all, Papa also agrees. After all, that way you can be closer to the Arshan family," said Surya wise.

"Listen Ver. Anyway, Papa already thinks of you as a real child. Papa will never let you live in distress. So, if you need anything there, then don't hesitate to talk to Papa. You and Ryanthi are just as valuable." Surya ended his words with a gentle touch, at the top of Vera's head.

Vera looked at him. He immediately rested his head on Surya's shoulders. Vera was very happy. Although he does not know where his real father is, he has an excellent surrogate father and is as considerate as Surya. The man never changes his feelings and attitude towards Vera, even though Ryanthi is now living with them.

"Thank you Pa. I'm so lucky to have a Papa like you. Ryanthi was much luckier than me, because she was always surrounded by good people in her life" said Vera Lirih.

"I'd really like to apologize to him for everything I've done. Although, I do know that Ryanthi has forgiven me. However, I would love to hug and say I'm proud to be a part of good people like you" Vera said.

Surya smile. He was very happy with Vera's change of attitude, which is now much better and mature. Meanwhile, Maya just fell silent, seeing her daughter now is not the daughter she used to be. Ryanthi's arrival to the house has brought many changes. Especially with Vera.

"Mama will definitely miss you a lot if you leave" Maya said sobbing.

Looking at Maya's attitude, Vera simply rolled her eyeballs. Meanwhile, Surya shook his head while clucking softly.

"Not to worry. Arshan's house isn't too far from here. Mom and Dad can visit whenever you want. Anyway, I'm going to give birth in a minute. I definitely need Mama's help there," Vera said turning her attention entirely to Maya who still looked sad.

"Your mother is always like a child. Moreover, if you get to go to France like Ryanthi. It was not impossible that he would instantly faint upon hearing that." Surya tried to make Maya smile. However, the red-haired woman still maintained her sad face.

Surya and Maya are often at odds, not even infrequently until a big fight. However, Surya's anger usually never lasts long, especially for days. Maya knows that too. Normally, Surya would return to make her laugh and their relationship returned to normal as usual.

But this time it was different. Maya felt something else. He was too heavy to let go of his beloved daughter. Maya's maternal instincts said another. It was as if a whisper had told him to forbid Vera from moving into Arshan's parents' house.

Unfortunately, Vera's intentions were unanimous.

She wanted to be a devoted and obedient wife to her husband. Maya could not have prevented that.

Maya doesn't understand why she has such a bad feeling about her daughter's situation. Vera herself had not yet left and was still there.

Maya moved her seat next to Vera. He hugged his beloved daughter. Maya hopes that what becomes her premonition, is only a feeling that arises because she is not willing to be the intention of Vera, who will go and live in her in-laws' house. Hopefully it is not a bad feeling, which will make him regret for letting the princess go. Maya finally agrees to Vera's goodwill.

"Just pray for the best, Ma" said Vera, taking her clothes out of the closet.

Meanwhile, Maya helps fold and organize into a suitcase. The woman nodded with a smile.
