Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● FORTY-NINE : Should Let Go?

Ryanthi looked well done that afternoon. It looks like he's going, but somewhere.

"Wanna go?" ask Surya. "Where are you going?" ask again.

"Yes. I have an appointment with someone" Ryanthi replied.

"Concidentally, Dad will also be out. What if you guys just take me?" bargained for.

"May," replied Ryanthi agreeing.

Not long after, they were already inside the jeep that was traveling at medium speed, splitting the streets of the capital.

"Actually, who are you going to meet?" surya asked curiously.

"Mama Imdira," Ryanthi answered briefly. However, there was a hue of spirit in the look in his eyes this time.

"Dad thought you'd meet Adrian. Is your relationship okay?" ask Surya again.

Ryanthi shook her head slowly. "Adrian was furious, knowing that I was going to France," he replied lethargicly.

"Give him an explanation. I'm sure Adrian will understand" suggested Surya who remains focused on city traffic.

"It has. Adrian prefers me here" Ryanthi replied softly and regretfully.

"Everything can definitely be discussed in a good way" Surya said again, before stopping his car at a red light intersection.

"Adrian's a good guy and very smart. I think he must be supporting you. He might just be surprised" explained Surya, who does know a pretty good Adrian.

Ryanthi did not respond. The girl just complained quietly. Silence ruled, until they arrived at the parking lot of a cafe. Ryanthi immediately came down, after saying goodbye to her father. He stepped towards that row of well-arranged tables and chairs.

The cafe looks very comfortable, because it carries the concept of outdoor. The entire interior of the building is white.

Seeing Ryanthi's arrival, Indira who had been waiting since then immediately waved her hand. His face looks bright. She likes Ryanthi very much, and hopes that the girl can become her daughter-in-law.

Ryanthi hurried over to Adrian's mother. She sat down after previously kissing her mother-in-law's left and right cheeks.

"How are you today?" tanya Indira is warm and friendly. As usual, he always seemed friendly.

Ryanthi smiled wryly as she nodded slowly. "Well, Ma," he replied rather awkwardly, when calling Indira 'mama'.

Indira smiles. Previously, he had ordered two drinks and snacks to accompany their conversation. "Have you seen Adrian again?" tanyanya opened the conversation.

Ryanthi immediately shook her head. "No, not yet" he answered briefly.

"He looks very messed up" Indira said.

"Get him, honey! Mama wants you guys to talk about a problem that got you into a good fight. Mama is sad to see you guys in a situation not wearing like this." Indira's face looked grim. There was a disappointed look in his eyes.

Ryanthi said nothing. The girl just stared at the white flower vase, which was displayed on the table where they were sitting right now. He was still confused by his own mind.

"Don't be equally selfish like this, because it won't solve the problem you're facing" Indira continued gently. She is truly a symbol of a true mother.

"Adrian is very angry with me. I don't dare to see him any time soon" Ryanthi replied hesitantly.

"Why did we meet if we were just going to fight again? Adrian does not want to accept my explanation that he should have been able to understand, without having to explain at length," continued Ryanthi slowly and regretfully.

"Thank you, Ma." Ryanthi smiled as she tasted the drink in the glass before her.

"I guess, Adrian was just surprised because you told him all of a sudden" said Indira. He tasted the drinks ordered earlier.

Ryanthi complained softly. "Why is everyone defending him, but no one understands what I feel? I wanted to tell Adrian from the beginning. However, I always had trouble doing that" Ryanthi said. He persisted, so that his tears would not fall in front of Indira.

Indira clasped Ryanthi's fingers gently. Just like Farida always did to her.

Indira's small touch, has managed to create a strange swish in Ryanthi's heart.

He looked at the woman before him. Indira is so kind and motherly. He is not much different from Farida.

"Mama can understand. It must feel heavy when it comes to discussing something that will create a spark of trouble in the relationship. However, no matter how angry Adrian is right now, the truth is that he needs you the most."

"Let down a little bit of your ego. There must be one who relents among you. If it continues like this, then until anytime there will be no meeting point," suggested Indira. "Your presence in Adrian's life, really Mama's grateful. He's changed a lot. Please, Son. Think carefully. However, don't tell her to make any more cookies."

After meeting with Indira, Ryanthi plans to meet Vera at the Arshan family residence. Along the way to the former residence, Ryanthi continued to ponder. He thought about the continuation of the relationship he had just started with Adrian.

A little while later, Ryanthi had already arrived at the intended place. He never thought he would go back there. However, not in the status of Arshan's lover.

"Hi, I miss you so much" said Vera. His stomach is growing. Such conditions make his movements become restricted. "If you want to drink, take it yourself. You already know where the kitchen is," said Arshan's wife lightly.

Ryanthi smiled wryly. He sat on the living room couch. "How was your pregnancy? Does it matter if you're alone at home?" There is a sense of anxiety in the beautiful face of Ryanthi, when he learns that Vera is only alone there.

"It's okay. Arshan's moved the room downstairs. After all, usually mom and dad go home faster than the market," explained Vera while rubbing her big belly. "Look. Who would have thought that I would be a mother. I used to not like kids. They're so noisy and annoying."

"Life will always change. So too with someone's thoughts. I think you're acting a lot more mature now than when I first met you."

"Ah, don't remind me of those moments. Your attitude is really bad and sucks for you. But you're still good to me."

"I've hit you" Ryanthi said with an amused laugh.

"Yes, it will always be the silliest story between you and me." Vera giggles as she recalls her fight with Ryanthi at Arshan's parents' house. "By the way, what about your planned departure to France?"

Instantly, Ryanthi's countenance turned grim. Back to be imagined by Adrian's anger is very scary.

"How did Adrian respond? Did he give you permission to leave? You guys are gonna be apart long enough."

Ryanthi did not answer immediately. He just bowed, then touched the corner of his eye. "Adrian was very angry. He didn't like it when I said that I would continue my education in France. We had a fight because of that," Ryanthi said slowly.

"Good, then what?"

"Come, Ver. I don't know either. One thing's for sure, I won't cancel my planned departure just because of Adrian's ban. Thisismylife. My future. The love of any man will not be comparable to the knowledge and abilities I have. That would make me a strong and independent woman." That's Ryanthi. The character of a Farida is firmly attached in her.

"Is it not much better if you can get both?" Vera raised her eyebrows. "Whatever a woman is strong, she needs a man's brain. I think Adrian is a special package. It's too much of a pity if you just let it go" Vera suggested sincerely.

Ryanthi. What Vera said is true. Adrian is a very special person. It's too bad to let go of a guy like him.

However, the big ideals and dreams of the late Farida were no less important to him. Ryanthi must seize the opportunity in plain sight.

"Sometimes, we have to sacrifice one thing to get another" Ryanthi said slowly and regretfully.
