Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● FIFTY-FOUR: A Glimpse of Spirit Behind Fear

Ryanthi was already intending to go home, when her phone felt vibrating. Vera's name appears on the screen as a caller. Ryanthi immediately headed for the stop, then sat there. Incidentally, the atmosphere of the afternoon was not too crowded.

"Yes, Ver. What's up?" greet Ryanthi as she answers the call.

"It's me, Thi. Arshan's."

Instantly, Ryanthi was shocked. He intended to hang up the phone. However, his intention was interrupted because Arshan spoke first. "Vera went to the hospital" he said. The man gave the name of the hospital where Vera was.

Without waiting any longer, Ryanthi headed straight there. Her heart was very anxious, when she thought about Vera's condition, which she thought was about to give birth.

Upon arrival at the hospital in question, Ryanthi rushes to the ER. There, he saw Arshan pensively alone. The man looked very messed up.

"How's the condition?" ryanthi asked without making small talk first.

Arshan who was originally sitting pensively, immediately turned his head. The look on his face implied an incredible sense of confusion. "Vera is bleeding heavily. The doctor is dealing with it" Arshan said slowly.

"Yes, God." Ryanthi couldn't believe Arshan's explanation. He sat next to the man. "What about mom and dad? Do they know?"

Arshan. "They went to the market. Fortunately, I haven't gone to the factory."

"Then, Maya's father and aunt?"

"I was confused and really shocked. I don't know how to." Arshan scooped up his face.

Ryanthi can understand that. He nodded, then moved from sitting. "I told my father and Aunt Maya" the girl said. He passed from where Arshan was, to contact Surya.

Not long after, Surya and Maya appeared with a tense look. The two come while the doctor is giving incumbents to Arshan and Ryanthi.

"Placenta is released prematurely. It causes a swelling in the baby's mother. We're really sorry, for not being able to save your baby" the doctor said, after giving an explanation.

Maya could not help but cry. He hid the face in Surya's chest.

A few hours later, Vera was transferred to the VVIP treatment room. The woman also began to awaken. Arshan faithfully accompanied him.

Slowly, Vera touched her flat stomach. He still doesn't know what happened to him. Vera looked at Arshan, as if asking for an explanation.

With a heavy heart, Arshan told his wife about the calamity that befell the woman. Vera was speechless, other than crying.

................

A few days have passed. Vera has returned from the hospital. Meanwhile, Ryanthi is busy preparing everything that he will bring to France. That morning, Ryanthi was sitting pensively in her room, when she felt a subtle touch on her shoulders.

"Mother" said Ryanthi. He looked at the woman standing near him.

"How are you?" farida asked softly, while sitting on the edge of the bed. The woman faces Ryanthi completely.

"I'm leaving for France the day after tomorrow. It feels so different. Are you gonna meet me there?" Ryanthi's pair of eyes began to tear up.

Farida smiled gently. "It seems, it's not Mother's absence that makes you sad" the woman said. "Why not meet him and say good-bye?"

"Go and meet him. Tell her you love her so much. Don't let yourself make the same mistakes, as you did before. Regret is painful, son," Farida suggested in such a soft word.

"What am I supposed to do, Mom? I ended our relationship. I thought, by getting used to not hearing Adrian's voice, I would get used to it until later when I left for France. But, I was wrong. It feels ... I miss him a lot."

Ryanthi finally let down all the grief on Farida's lap. He buried his face there. Ryanthi was crying, as if wanting to spill all the burdens that had been pendam.

Farida smiled as she continued to gently caress Ryanthi's hair. "Mom's too tired. I just feel like taking a rest. Don't make your mother continue to worry. You've found him. The man you've been needing."

"Listen to Mom, son," said Farida again. "There will be many handsome men who come and offer love. However, only one can really make you feel what love is like. When you find it, don't waste it. Meet her. Tell me that you love so much and don't want to lose it."

Ryanthi raised her face. He wiped away the tears. A glimmer of hope appeared, bringing a beautiful smile on the girl's pretty face. "Mother's right. I was just too scared" he said.

Farida smiled again. "Mom knows what it's like. The life story of your parents is not something to look at. However, not everything will do the madness that your mother or father did."

"Faith is something very precious. Keeping that up, is like walking on a sharp shard. Every step I take feels so scary. However, such fear will make us be careful and not rash."

"So is in love. Some are tested for treason. However, not a few who survive in distance togetherness. Feelings that are vacillating. Your heart was so shaken that you felt unable to hold on to two legs. That's when it's time to find a handle. Sincere love. That, Son. The sincerity of your love and Adrian, will prove how strong he holds for you."

"Mother ...." Ryanthi kissed Farida's pale white hands. A feeling of raging in the chest.

"Have you said, it's time to rest. I am grateful to be able to take you to the door of a new future. Our biggest dream. Get everything while you can. Don't give up again. When the right hand gets something, let the left hand enjoy what it feels like."

Farida releases Ryanthi's hand. He got up from his seat, then moved away slowly.

"Where are you going?" ask Ryanthi gusar. He rushed down from the bed, then caught up with Farida who was walking out of the room. That woman is fast. When Ryanthi arrived at the door, she found no one there.

Ryanthi was glued to the doorway, while circulating a glance. However, Farida seemed to be lost without leaving even the slightest trace. The girl then stepped out of the room, and returned riveted.

"What are you doing?" surya asked who suddenly appeared there.

"Dad? Did you see Mom come out of my room just now?" ask Ryanthi fretting. A moment later, the girl regained her senses upon seeing the strange look Surya showed.

"Ah, I dreamt of meeting mom. It feels so real, that I think he's really here and ...." Ryanthi was powerless to endure her grief. The girl's cry broke in the father's arms.

For a while, Ryanthi continued to sob. The girl's feelings are very sick. He felt so lost. In fact, Ryanthi already knew that Farida had indeed been dead since a while ago. However, I don't know why Ryanthi seems to be unaware of it.

"You miss him so much, don't you?" surya asked as she stroked Ryanthi's hair. "Until this moment, I still miss your mother a lot. But it's too late."

Ryanthi was powerless to respond to his father's words. He just sobbed bitterly.

"Dad took care of the removal of your mother's grave. Everything is done. Soon, your mother will get a new, much more decent home. As he should have gotten all this time," Surya said as he stretched his embrace.

Surya stared fixedly at Ryanthi who was still sobbing. He rubbed his daughter's cheek gently. Eliminate the tears of pain that Ryanthi felt. "We're going to start all this again" he said. "Dad just returned from visiting Vera. Mercifully. Arshan was so attentive in taking care of him, that he completely recovered. Vera looks very happy."

Surya smiled warmly. "For the next time, I want to see you like that. Living happily with the right man. Someone who loves you wholeheartedly, so I don't regret giving you over to that man."
