Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality

Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● EIGHT : Traveling of the Beloved

Maya's facial complexion is increasingly uncertain, when

Surya canceled the event to go with him. The middle-aged man prefers to drive Ryanthi back to the rented house. After all, Surya was so eager to meet Farida that he had longed for. There is nothing else that Surya will do, other than apologize to the wife who until that moment he was not legally divorced.

On the way home, Ryanthi was more silent. Actually, she was very worried about Farida's response, when the mother would meet Surya again.

"Have I done the right thing?" ryanthi thought she was doubtful. The girl kept thinking.

However, true or not, Surya still has to know the conditions of Farida that have been very alarming. Ryanthi only hopes that he does not take the wrong action.

Surya drove his vehicle excitedly. He looks so happy, because he will meet again with a wife who has long disappeared from his life. On the other hand, Surya is also very happy to see Ryanthi who has now grown up. "How old are you now, son?" Surya tried to break the silence between them.

"Twenty-three," Ryanthi answered briefly. How outrageous. Surya doesn't even know how old Ryanthi is right now.

"What kind of father is he?" it was Ryanthi who condemned the father's silliness, in his heart.

"How long has your mother been sick?" ask Surya again. He seemed to want to look more familiar with his daughter.

Ryanthi knew that Surya was just trying to make small talk. In fact, he was lazy to respond to all the questions the man asked. Ryanthi preferred silence. However, Surya continued to ask and invite him to talk.

"Two weeks," replied Ryanthi. "Usually, mothers never get sick until as long ago as they are now" Ryanthi explained flatly. "Yes. Mother was often sick. He worked too hard to support both of us, to the point of neglecting his health" the girl said. The real subtle insinuations were aimed directly at the father.

Surya became misbehaved, after hearing Ryanthi's words that sounded so piercing his inner niche. However, the man in batik clothes still tried to look ordinary. He had to ignore any discomfort, because he did not know how to respond.

"What if we buy souvenirs first for your mother" Surya suddenly said. He chose to shift the subject. The first moment was reunited with his beloved daughter, not wanting her to be damaged by the dispute for discussing the dark turmoil of the past.

"No, no" Ryanthi refused. "I left my mother to the neighbors. Anyway, I asked permission to just leave for a while" she said. The feeling is already really uncomfortable, because Ryanthi is not used to leaving Farida alone in the condition of the mother who is sick. "Can it be faster?" pinta Ryanthi who looks very upset.

"Yes, sure. You see for yourself the traffic condition is heavy," pointed Surya while directing the view forward.

Ryanthi exhaled a short breath with complaints. He could not do much, because in reality the vehicle he was riding was stuck in the middle of the traffic jam of the capital. Ryanthi just sat leaning back while looking straight ahead.

A few moments later, the car driven by Surya drove back. Although still a bit choked, but fortunately not to a complete stop. Such circumstances made Ryanthi again complain slowly.

Ryanthi did not respond. The twenty-three-year-old girl remained silent. Such attitude continued, until the car driven by Surya finally entered the territory of the rented house occupied by Ryanthi.

From a distance, there were people crowded in front of the rented house that Ryanthi was in. The girl's feelings are no longer good. He's getting restless.

"Mother" he murmured slowly. Ryanthi rushes out of the car. He's barging into the house. Meanwhile, Surya parked his vehicle first, then followed Ryanthi.

Arriving inside the house, Ryanthi's body immediately collapsed, when he saw Farida had been stretched rigidly covered by a sheet of rags. A woman approached and hugged him.

"Patience, son," the woman whispered softly, as she stroked Ryanthi's hair.

Ryanthi said nothing. He was so devastated to find that fact. Ryanthi wanted to scream. However, his voice seemed to be stifled and felt a strong strangling of the neck. Tears seemed to be blocked by surprise, so it could not drip and only made Ryanthi's eyes feel so heavy. The girl was still sitting on the floor, in front of the body of the mother she loved so much.

Meanwhile, Surya just stood staring at his wife's pale and lifeless face again. He walked slowly closer to Farida's corpse. Surya then sat there. He rubbed Farida's forehead gently. Slowly tears began to drip down the cheeks. A huge regret would continue to weigh on his life.

Surya kissed Farida's forehead for a while. However, the woman was still silent and did not respond at all. Both of his eyes kept on closing. His body was stiff, with a white face appearing increasingly pale. "Farida," whispered Surya holding haru, "this is me .. your husband ..," she whispered. Farida stayed asleep. He fell asleep and would never wake up again

"I'm here to apologize to you." Surya whispered back. "Why do you have to leave before you apologize? Is this a way to get revenge on me? You give me a burden that I will never let go of." Surya could not endure his sadness. Tears keep dripping. He remembered all the wrongs to his wife and daughter.

Surya then turned around and looked at Ryanthi who looked very struck. The girl could do nothing but sit with her mouth tightly clenched with a blank look. He hugged the poor girl tightly.

The neighbors who came could only see the scene in full. They do not know who the man who whispered to Farida's body was, and now hugs Ryanthi. They can only guess.

"Son, we're going to bathe your mother's body now." A woman who used to be in charge of bathing the corpse, spoke to Ryanthi.

Ryanthi turned to him without saying anything. He still feels confused.

Seeing that, Surya immediately took over to represent Ryanthi. After all, he should be in charge. "Please. Please take good care of it. If there's anything you need, just tell me." Surya wiped his tears.

The fat-bodied middle-aged woman immediately nodded. "Yes, sir," he replied as he went out, to prepare everything that was needed.

"Calm down. I'm here with you." Surya hugged Ryanthi again, gently stroking the girl's hair.
