Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality

Ryanthi: Sweet Cake, Bitter Reality
● NINE : Most Painful Loss

Black clouds seemed to have already ruled the entire sky. Every now and then, the wind blows quite fiercely. He seemed to be telling the world that today nature will be angry.

Three days had passed since Farida's departure, which left a deep scar for Ryanthi. Until now, the girl still chose to remain silent, like a hermit in a cave. Even so, Ryanthi persisted so that he did not get worse.

Ryanthi tries to be strong. He had to stand firm, even though his legs felt very weak and could barely support his weight. One thing she always remembered from her mother's words was that she had to be a strong woman and never bowed in the face of pain. Sick? That's for sure. There are no most sinister words, which can represent the girl's current feelings.

Slender. Ryanthi lives alone in the rented house. There was no more breath but his breath there. The biggest part of the beautiful girl's life is gone and will never come back.

Regretted? Yeah, of course you are. It was a great regret for Ryanthi, as she was not beside Farida when her mother took her last breath. Ryanthi did not know whether at that time his mother felt pain, or just happy because she was free from the agonizing feelings that she had been suffering?

Slowly, Ryanthi got up from her bed. He walked a bit unsteadily towards Farida's room. The swish of pain hit his heart the deepest, as he stared at the mattress where the mother was lying a few days ago. At that time, Ryanthi still bribed him even though he had to be a little forced.

Complaints slowly slid from Ryanthi's lips, as the girl walked closer to the mattress. There, still neatly arranged two pillows that usually support the head of the mother.

Ryanthi regretted, because it was precisely those pillows that accompanied Farida when she died.

Why is it that when Ryanthi reunites with her father, she has to lose her mother? All those 'why' questions just become an unanswered mystery. Ryanthi didn't want to think about it too much either. He was still confused, about to be taken where his current life was headed.

Ryanthi's gaze turned to something else. His eyes began to sweep every corner of the room. There, a bag containing Farida's old clothes was stored. Ryanthi then walked over to the bag earlier. It had been a long time since they had moved into that rented house, Farida had never opened it again.

Slowly, Ryanthi shifted the zipper to the side, so that he saw a pile of old clothes belonging to Farida. The actual clothes are still good and worth using of course. Feeling that nothing is too important, Ryanthi again closed the zipper bag.

The short-haired beautiful girl's gaze, turned on some of the rags piled up not far from the other items. Farida likes to collect rags. There are many good motives at affordable prices. On a whim, Ryanthi looked at the array folds one by one.

There was one cloth that was Farida's favorite. The mother once told me that the rag was the giver of Ryanthi's late grandmother who had long since passed. The condition of the cloth was still good, because it was wrapped neatly.

Actually, Ryanthi felt lazy to move the body. He just wanted to lie down and be quiet. However, tomorrow Surya will pick him up to the rented house. The man had managed to persuade Ryanthi, in order to be willing to come back to the place where he should be. So, Ryanthi was forced to clean up the things he would bring.

When the girl had just finished tidying up all of Farida's relics, suddenly there was a knock on the door from outside. "Ryanthi!" Someone called him out loud enough.

Ryanthi rushes out of Farida's room. He went straight to the door. A neighbor named Bu Salimah came. The woman was the one Farida had cheered on, when Ryanthi went to look for Surya. As planned, Ms. Salimah will help Ryanthi with her other items.

Ryanthi smiled her smile even though somewhat forced, when she saw the face of the middle-aged woman. "Have you finished cleaning?" Ms. Salimah asked, because not a single item had been collected in the living room.

"Then, what about the other furniture?" ask Salimah again.

"It seems not to have been taken. After all, we didn't have much stuff, just some makeshift kitchen furniture and also some cake utensils. It was also just a little, "Ryanthi replied rather limply.

Ms. Salimah was bearded, after hearing the explanation from the girl.

Ryanthi was silent for a moment. "If you want, just take it. Except for the cake equipment .. don't." Ryanthi laughed softly. He felt funny about his words.

"Rare you sure you're not taken?" Salimah asked again.

Ryanthi responded with a confident nod. "Yes, Mom. My father forbade me to bring unnecessary items" Ryanthi explained.

Sure oes. Surya is the man. The furniture in his house is very complete and certainly much better, when compared to Ryanthi's furniture. After all, Surya had ordered Ryanthi to only bring important items.

"Yes already. Then, I help you clean the kitchen first yes," said Bu Salimah while moving to the kitchen, of course after getting approval from Ryanthi.

Meanwhile, Ryanthi himself continued to tidy up his belongings. It was not a difficult job for Ryanthi, because she did not have many other clothes or accessories typical of girls today.

Outside the rain fell heavily, when all the goods were finished being cleaned and collected by Ms. Salimah in the living room. Meanwhile, Ryanthi is still struggling in the room with her belongings.

"So, that guy from yesterday was your dad, Ry?" ms. Salimah asked while helping Ryanthi put her clothes in the bag. Ryanthi only nodded faintly, without giving an answer. "The thing is, I haven't seen her come here in as long as you've been here" the middle-aged woman continued.

Ryanthi only replied with a small smile. He did not want to discuss personal matters with others. Not everyone should know about their family problems.

"Your mother never told me anything about your father either. So, we think he's been dead all this time" said Ms Salimah again.

He was like he was fishing for Ryanthi, to tell a story.

However, Ryanthi did not respond to Miss Salimah's words too much. Ryanthi already knew what a female character was like. After all, he was about to leave the rented house, which he had spent nearly four years with Farida. Ryanthi will return to her long-abandoned residence.
