One week later, every morning in a row everyone in the office would always whisper and give a cynical look as soon as Erina walked past them. But unlike today, as if the day went as normal as before the incident.
"Good morning."
Erina jumped in shock to find her boss who came suddenly.
"L-yes morning, sir," he replied.
Darren frowned in looking at Erina's facial expression.
"Why? I see you as a confused person" the man asked later.
"Yes. I feel something is strange, sir. Today is back to how it was. I don't find people who talk about me every day and their cynical gazes" Erina said.
Darren smiled slightly. "Isn't that what you want?"
"meaning?"
"You don't like people talking about you. Moreover, they always cast a bad look at you."
"Yes. But why did they suddenly return to normal as before anything happened between us, sir."
"Looky" said the man creating a high curiosity in Erina's head.
"How?"
"Just like I'm asking you to come back to this office."
Erina was silent for a while. Digesting that sentence well.
"Again threat?" erina asked and got a nod from Darren.
"Pay contract threats?"
"Not."
"Then?"
"You did that for me?"
"It happens to anyone."
"Oh .."
Erina thinks Darren did that specifically for her. This is a policy for other employees as well.
"Let's have lunch together again, yeah."
"Yes, sir."
Erina covered again from the end nodding her head politely as a sign of goodbye. Darren looked at the back of Erina's departure until the woman was gone from the reach of his eyes.
Darren reached for the flat object in the back pocket of the black suit he was currently wearing. He dialed a person's number and attached the flat object near his earlobe.
"Hello, how? Is everything safe?" darren said to someone he called.
"Good," he said again and then turned off the connection.
Darren clasped his phone while raising the corner of his lips to form a small smile. I can't wait for seven o'clock tonight.
He breathed a little rough. Then move from there to the cubicle of the employees to make sure there are still people who dare to talk about Erina in the back. If anything, he would have fired her that day as well.
From a distance Darren stopped his steps. Pay attention to the employees who are working staring focus on the computer screen. He tried not to be caught if he was monitoring.
Darren stood there for five minutes. It turned out that no one dared to take their eyes off the computer screen. Everything seems to be focused on work. That way he calms down. He decided to go to his room.
"Stt ... Pstt ... Mr. Darren is gone." whispered one of them and some of them heaved a sigh of relief after a moment of straining.
They gossiped again but with a fairly soft tone. For them, talking about people's disgrace is fun. It has become an everyday food. A day not talking about other people, then his mouth will feel very itchy. And the main topic in their conversation was still the same, Erina.
