The Arrival of Mother-in-Law

Bi Sarti walked quickly towards the front door when he heard the house bell ringing. Dave and Jeslyn have not been seen coming out of his room. "Where are my son and daughter-in-law?" Dave's mother immediately asked when bi Sarti had opened the door.

"Still in the Madam's room. Not out yet," Bi Sarti replied politely.

Dave's mom took her phone in her bag and then looked at the clock on her phone. Time has shown at 7 am. "This brings it to the kitchen." Dave's mother gave three bags of food containers and 3 large plastics to bi Sarti.

"Good Mistress." Bi Sarti walks towards the kitchen followed by Dave's mother.

"Heat this food when my son-in-law is awake" pointed Dave's mother at the large bag of food.

Bi Sarti began to dismantle everything that Jeslyn's in-laws had brought. Not only food, Mother Dave also brought a lot of fruits, fruit salads, vegetables, some herbs and healthy drinks for pregnant women. For fruit, salads, fresh vegetables and drinks are directly put in the refrigerator.

Dave's mother accidentally cooked herself for her son-in-law. He asked for help from his cook. He wanted to make sure his daughter-in-law's nutrition was met with healthy food.

He also asked his cook to make him a healthy snack, although there were also healthy snacks purchased for his son-in-law. Dave's mother even cooked processed meat with perfect maturity.

"Bath, Ma." Dave started sitting in the front seat of his mother. Dave seemed to be watching his mother brewing something. "What's your mom doing?"

"Make hot ginger for Jeslyn" replied Dave's mother without turning to her son. "Mama brought a lot of healthy food, fresh fruit and vegetables to Jeslyn. Mama made it herself especially for your wife."

"Why not tell people to prepare it? Mama didn't have to bother making it." Dave had never seen his mother step into the kitchen by herself just to prepare food for others even for him.

Finish making warm ginger for his son-in-law. Dave's mother asks bi Sarti to prepare the food she brought earlier because Jeslyn is awake.

"Mama must make it. She's mom's daughter-in-law let alone she's pregnant." Dave's mother didn't mind at all preparing everything for her daughter-in-law.

"Lately he's not appetite, Ma." Dave did notice that lately Jeslyn had only eaten a little.

Dave's mother sat in front of her son. "really? Is she nauseous?" ask Dave's mother with a worried face.

She recalls when Jeslyn was first pregnant. He looked so weak he had to go to the hospital. He was afraid that it would happen again.

"just teach. It used to be when my mom was pregnant with you too like that. You need to be more patient and pay more attention to it."

"Yes, I know, Ma. Maybe for a while I'll leave the company's business to Mark and Zayn. I can't work fulltime in the office because since I was pregnant Jeslyn didn't want to be away from me."

"That means you should pay more attention to it. Don't ever make it stess, Dave. Follow all your wife's wishes," advises Dave's mother.

Actually she felt guilty for not paying attention to Jeslyn when she was pregnant first. He didn't even want to acknowledge the child in Jeslyn's womb.

"Thank you Ma." Dave sipped the tea given by his mother. "Why not come?"

"No, your dad's having a show. He said he'd be here tomorrow afternoon."

Actually Dave's mother had invited her husband to come together, but could not because there was an important meeting with his business friends.

With quick steps Dave walked towards the voice of Jeslyn who kept calling him.

"What's the matter, baby?" Dave walked over to Jeslyn who was standing by the stairs.

Jeslyn thought that Dave was going to work today because they didn't go on a honeymoon. That's why he freaked out a little when he saw Dave wasn't in the room when he came out of the bathroom.

Dave stood in front of his wife. "I'm from the kitchen, baby. I was going to ask bi Sarti to prepare breakfast for you, but it's not because mama has come to bring food for you."

"Mama's here?" jeslyn asked with a surprised face.

"Yeah baby. He's in the kitchen." Dave led his wife to walk into the dining room.

"When is my mom here?" They continued to walk towards the dining table.

Dave pulled out a chair for his wife when he arrived in the dining room. "Half hours ago dear."

"I'll see my mom first." Jeslyn was about to get up from her seat but was held captive by her husband.

"Wait here, baby. Mama is preparing food for you with bi Sarti."

"Why did you let Mama into the kitchen? Let bi Sarti do it."

Jeslyn felt bad about letting her mother-in-law enter the kitchen area, especially to prepare food for her. Her mother-in-law was used to being served by others. Even for her child and husband, she told others to prepare all their needs.

Dave smiled as he rubbed his wife's hand. "When I came to the kitchen. Mama was already there. After all, he did it willingly."

"Jeslynn's... How are you, baby." Dave's mother immediately called Jeslyn when she had just entered the dining room. He walked over to his daughter-in-law and hugged her.

"Drink baby." Her mother-in-law looked happy when she saw her daughter-in-law looking healthy.

"Yes Ma." Jeslyn began to sip the cup he had in his hand. "Sorry to trouble Mama."

"Mama didn't bother. Mama is happy to make it for you."

Moments later, bi Sarti came up with some food arranged on the dining table. "Mama deliberately made this food for you. I hope you like it" Jelyn's mother said as all the food was on the table.

"Thank you Ma." Jeslyn was stunned to see the amount of food that was on the dining table. "Mom don't bother bringing a lot of food, Ma."

"It's okay. Mama wants your nutrition fulfilled. Mama will send you healthy food every day" Dave's mom said.

"Mama herself wants to do it baby. You don't have to feel burdened." Dave knew exactly what his wife was thinking right now.

"Yes that's right" Dave's mom said, "we better have breakfast now" Dave's mom suggested.

Jeslyn nodded. "What do you want to eat, baby? Let me get it?" dave asked gently while looking at his wife.

"I want to eat that." Jeslyn showed me the food she wanted to eat.

Luckily she had not experienced nausea during her second pregnancy so she could still consume food without worrying about spitting out her food.

"Let me eat alone, Dave," Jeslyn said as she watched her husband feed her.

"Just me" Dave refused, pointing the spoon in his wife's mouth. "Open your mouth."

Jeslyn briefly glanced at her mother-in-law before opening her mouth. Dave's mother was smiling at them.
