Since The Fall Of Maglindo

Since The Fall Of Maglindo
Chapter 05 part V: The Key to the Past

But damn, I still don't know the whole place in this school. If only there was a map that could show the direction to lead to the right path, then I would be grateful for its existence. Despite all these desires, for some reason after a long walk to the turn, now I even meet someone I do not want to meet for now, the person in question is April.

In this hallway, there were not many people passing by, most also did not stop their steps here. Just what is he doing?

When our eyes first looked, he stood leaning against the wall. At least from the position, which is only resting on one leg while the other foot is on the wall, I can feel a bad feeling. Whether it leads for him or even for me, obviously the atmosphere between us right now is really not good.

I also did not think of greeting him. After all if we do that, our already broken relationship will become even worse. Just imagine, which freak would suddenly hit an innocent person just for dislike, he was April, holding back his fist from drifting a day was already very difficult for him, he said, and that's best I avoid.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he'll keep his fists off me. Because in addition to the awkwardness between us, he also always tried to stay away from me as much as possible. So if I suddenly take a blow from him, he's saying he wants us to be friends again. While this is of course an impossibility, as far as April is stubborn plus wants to win alone. However, there is actually a small possibility where he invites us to reconcile, considering I can guess that now he does not have a single friend here.

But what I'm confused about is how to react. He also did nothing from earlier, just staring at the floor with his pose. While I am currently stopping my steps, there is really no reason for me to do that. It's just that if I choose to leave without doing anything that could be the reason why I chose to stay here, then it would be an absolute defeat. After all, the contest between me and him is who intends to make friends first, that's where it is immediately declared defeat.

I can accept it, part of the problem is also caused by myself. Despite all that, this was the first time we met at High School, a higher level. When on the first day that I saw him walking, there was already an assumption that we had the same goal, from the beginning as well. And I thought, in the end, we'd be back as usual, it's only a matter of time before that happens.

Luckily there was no need to do anything else, the entrance bell finally rang. It felt very fast, yes, anyway so that the minds of the students did not waste with something that is not important so that they can continue the same lesson.

When I turned around while walking in the previous direction, April remained motionless from there. I know every class is built parallel, maybe so, but yes, there could be another way, or somewhere else? No, rather than bothering about it, now I don't even know where else to go.

Finally, with hope in the others, I followed some students who seemed to be heading to their respective classes as well. And that's true, because now I'm through the door of my own class.

Inside is quite crowded, there is still no coming, so is AI. As for my eyes, as usual, it was always on Grizelle who was busy studying as I walked towards the chair.

For some of the prevailing rules, it is said that the student enters class no later than 2 minutes after the bell rings. While in my case, Mr. December will at least come with a minimum calculation time of about 5 minutes after the bell rings. So if the classroom atmosphere is still less crowded, then it is not strange anymore.

“What are you learning, Grizelle?”

“Tarian.”

Finally, with that weird question, Grizelle glanced at me. Although it was cold, I could feel her curiosity.

“Huh?”

“I mean, you posed like a cat, then said, 'Him'.”

Quickly, Grizelle immediately turned her face back on the book. I can tell that now he is ashamed to hear my words.

But if he really did, it would be a good memory for me to remember. After all, Grizelle was a beautiful woman. I think she could easily become a class idol if she wanted to. Plus he is also smart, previously at the time of learning there was a session where Mr. December tested the students with questions, and Grizelle can answer them without a single mistake.

From there I began to suspect that he was among the few people standing at the top of the registration test. I think that I now know how to tell smart people apart and not.

It's just that after Grizelle turned around, I could only sleep at the table while listening to the chatter of the people around me.

When Mr. December came, the re-learning began. As before, everything went well. Sometimes there are little jokes from Mr. December that sound funny because of his naturalness, as well as his laziness. But unlike the first session, now there are many students who try to show that they exist. Previously just a little, mostly dominated by Grizelle, and it made her get the attention of everyone. And until finally the break bell rang again, this class became a room filled with fierce competition.

I think at the beginning most people deliberately chose to adapt. And because of that too, I began to assume that this class was actually filled with many monsters, they were really smart and cunning.

But that doesn't change the fact that they are jostling for the sake of being number one in terms of who goes out of class first. When I heard someone say “So I bought a hamburger in the cafeteria, and it was so good” I decided to follow them secretly. In other words now I also walked along with the crowd around me.

Actually before, when I was in class and I left, Grizelle had looked at me. Because he seemed to want to come along, so I offered him to come with me, but in the end he refused by returning to study. Inevitably I didn't try to persuade her any harder this time, because my stomach had already called out.

Amazingly, I was actually able to get to the cafeteria. For the path I remember, it was easy because it basically did not go around in circles.
