Sister of Inpar Malang

Chapter 24 Meeting the In-Law

POV Author

Evan felt his head very dizzy, his body also hurt. All she remembers is drinking at a bar, and then her brother tries to take her home. But, in the end Elan let Evan continue drinking.

Thought Elan by letting Evan vent on the drink, it would make Evan's feelings of pain and burden relieved for a moment. In fact, that thought was a false start.

Sound from the bathroom. The sound of water flowing from the tap and the faint sound of crying. After forcing her body to wake up, Evan walked to the bathroom while still staggering.

"You why Laras?" Evan forgot about the pain in his head. Then walked towards his wife who looked in a heartbreaking state.

Evan takes a towel to wrap around his wife's body and turns off the water tap. Then he took his wife to sit on the bed.

"Why are you like this?" ask Evan again.

Laras only looked at Evan's face with empty eyes. Her face was pale, with her eyes as if she was crying.

Evan was surprised to see his wife's face like there was no life. Don't know what to do now.

"You better not go to the office today. Let me let you let Papa."

Evan walks to the bathroom to get ready to leave for the office. While Laras himself looked at Evan's back with a desperate heart.

After Evan left for work, Laras just shut himself up in the room. The phone was turned off, so that no one would disturb his grief.

Evan had returned home several times with the same condition, the smell of alcohol and drunk. The barrel still remained beside Evan. His love is greater than his disappointment with Evan.

As his mother and mother-in-law said, maybe Evan was going the wrong way. So as a wife, she should be on the right path.

The clock shows a break, Elan invites Evan to lunch alone at a restaurant near the office building. Forced Laras to have lunch alone in the cafeteria. After all Evan ate with his biological brother, thought Laras.

"How is your relationship with Laras?" elan asked after finishing his lunch.

Elan felt sorry for Laras. Some days he sees his brother-in-law as alive but lifeless.

"It's normal, '" he replied in his trademark flat tone.

"Don't be like that, Evan. If you don't want to be with him, you better let go. Don't hurt her, just because of your past disappointment. Now, isn't he slowly starting to change his nature for the better."

"I'll try."

Elan breathed heavily. "Are you still thinking about Lilis?"

Evan who was about to drink coffee stopped the movement of his hand, making the lips of the cup stop right in front of Evan's mouth.

"Are you guys communicating well?" Instead of answering, Evan asked back. Then sip the coffee while staying calm.

"Forget Lilis. She's been living her life with Devan, and will still be your sister-in-law. He himself has chosen the course of his life."

Elan was still trying to advise Evan. Although the heart is actually already stuck because it is only responded to normally by his biological sister.

"What about my son in his stomach?"

"Your son is fine too."

There was a sense of pride in Evan's heart, when he heard Elan mention the word "your son" just now.

"Lilis must be sad to see you like this. A proud older brother slumped in his own selfishness. What else if until you have to hurt Laras more than this. Maybe he doesn't want to see your face anymore."

"You think I can still get an apology from him?"

"If you mean it, Lilis will forgive you, and gladly let you see her child. Um, I mean ...your children, after birth."

"Give me some time."

"Start from mending your relationship with Laras first."

"I thought about it first."

Talking with his own sister sometimes makes Elan have to prepare a lot of patient stock. Too cold, flat, and irritable to talk.

Even though it was only responded to flatly and ordinaryly, at least Evan was willing to respond. Than not at all. Hopefully Evan will change.

POV Lilis

I sat in a very nervous condition. My two in-laws will be here soon. I was thinking about the possible attitude of Kak Devan's parents later towards me.

Repeatedly stroking the lips and trying to make yourself sit up. Even though my way of sitting still looks very restless.

Brother Devan who saw my nervousness also tried to calm down, by embracing this shoulder and smiling warmly.

I'm blinking lips. Does he really not know where I am at the moment? Although it is still my father's brother, but we have not seen each other for a long time. There's gonna be some awkwardness.

"Pull your breath slowly, keep breathing out. Pity baby if you keep on fidgeting. He must have felt it too."

I followed my husband's instructions. The result is quite a bit to relieve this nervousness.

The sound of a car entering the courtyard, stopped in front of the terrace. Ow hell! Again, this is nervous.

"Den Devan, Non Lilis, the same Madam you've arrived." Mbok Urip came from the front to tell the arrival of his parents Kak Devan.

After notifying the arrival of the Madam and her Great Lord, Mbok Urip went straight to the kitchen to prepare lunch for us.

"Assynolajet. Mama's home!" There was a voice of women saying greetings and footsteps entering the house.

"Wa'alaikumsalam," answered we were both compact.

Me and Devan stood up. Prepare to welcome the arrival of Om Hisham and Aunt Desi, parents of Kak Devan.

"Where's my son-in-law?" ask the middle-aged woman who looks still energetic. Aunt Desi's face is still unchanged, still the same as last met when I was in elementary school.

"Oh my goodness, Lilis! You're a big boy now. Mom actually pangling. It's just right Devan doesn't want Mama to mate with anyone."

Aunt Desi said very excitedly. We hugged each other and kissed.

"Papa was barely familiar. Last time I saw you was still so cute. Now it has started to grow up," said Om Hisham while wiping the top of my head.

"You're healthy, right? Did Devan trouble you?" asked Aunt Desi again while flipping through my body like checking if something was abrasive.

"No, no, Aunt."

"Kok, Auntie, anyway. Mom, dong. Mama and Papa!" firmly Aunt Desi.

"Eh, I-iya Mama, Papa. Devan is not a hassle, though. He even took good care of me and took care of me."

It's like it's the truth. A few days living in this house with Brother Devan, he never made me any trouble. He even protects me and takes care of my feelings. I was afraid of losing him.

"Ma, dong. Poor Lilis, my wife will be afraid," said Kak Devan pulled me who was being rung his cheek by Aunt Desi. Uh, Mama Desi. Hidhi.

After this I have to get used to the call of Mama Desi and Papa Hisham. Because they were my parents too.

"Former Mama, anyway. How's Oma's grandson?" mama Desi asked as she rubbed my stomach.

My body suddenly became stiff. It's obvious they know what I've been through. Even the father of this child in my stomach, they already know. But this question seems to be insinuating to me. Makes me feel unworthy to be with Devan.

Brother Devan touched my shoulder. Makes me a little bit squeaky because it was a little dreamy. I turned and found him smiling warmly and nodding his head.

"Mama's granddaughter is fine in the stomach," I replied with a slight nervousness.

"Thankful Thank God." I saw Mama smiling sincerely at me.

"Master, ma'am, the food is ready. Let's go ahead." Fortunately Mbok Urip came to cut our chat. I'm a little relieved.

"Let's have lunch first. After that we unload the souvenirs that Mama brought for you."

Mama took my arm to the dining table. We ate with a warm atmosphere. Accompanied by a small joke from Kak Devan who always teases Mama, and Papa who will be a mediator figure.

After lunch, Mama and I unpacked the souvenirs in the room, while Kak Devan and papa went to the study room to discuss work.

I smiled crisply, looking at the pile of souvenirs brought by Mama. If it were put in a closet, it would fill half of my wardrobe.

Although my family is from the adequacy class, but my father never taught me to buy excessively. Always be reminded to buy only what is needed.

Most of the souvenirs from Mama are clothes for me when pregnant later. Like negligee, interior, and outfit for pregnant women.

"See this! Mama also bought a couple nightgown for you and Devan."

Lilis looked directly at her in-laws who were holding a nightgown in pink with a brown teddy bear head. I smiled at Mama. Maybe I'll like it, but Devan won't like it.

I grinned as an idea passed through my head. How about forcing Sis Devan to wear this nightgown?

I who was thinking of a prank idea for my husband gasped in shock, as my in-laws clasped my palms. I found Mama looking at me seriously.

"Lilis, to be honest. At first, Mama didn't want Devan to marry you. What else should be responsible to a child who is not his own flesh and blood."

I held my breath and my body stiffened hearing the statement of the beautiful woman in my father-in-law. Is Kak Devan's mother still unable to accept my presence as a daughter-in-law in this family? I don't know why I'm afraid I'll have to separate from Brother Devan.

"When Mama heard Devan's voice on the phone, she sounded so happy you accepted her proposal. Mama still remembers, her face was always beaming when she told me about you. The way he thinks he's getting older, makes Mama crumble."

Lilis' tension began to loosen. She kept paying attention to what her mother-in-law wanted to say.

"You know why Mama and Papa left Devan at your house first?"
