Chapter 40 (Night Dinner (not) Romantic)

Pov Lilis

I woke up alone in my room. Throat feels dry. When going to pour water from the teapot, there is a small note next to it. That's a note from Devan. Why did she suddenly have a romantic fever? I should be grateful to have a husband like him. 

There was a box next to her, which contained a very beautiful light blue dress. The material is very light, so it is suitable for pregnant women.

I'm done getting ready. "Now is the time to meet the prince" I muttered with a small smile, still in front of the mirror.

On the way to the pool area, I passed by Evan. Without being told, the feet immediately stopped walking. I felt a cold sweat start coming out on my forehead, but not as bad as it used to be. Maybe thanks to the therapy I used to do.

"Lilis" muttered Evan's sister, who I can still hear.

I just shut up. Brother Evan's eyes looked towards my stomach. I don't know what he's thinking by looking at this bloated stomach.

"You ... how are you?" Stale alkaline questions in the middle of an awkward atmosphere like this.

"Good." 

"I-i"

"sorry. Brother Devan is waiting for me for dinner. Next time we can talk. That's if you get permission from Kak Devan."

"Ok then," he concluded sounding disappointed. 

"Excuse me." I just continued on and left. The load instantly became light in an instant.

After walking some distance, I stopped again to neutralize the rapidly beating heart beat. I can't ruin a plan that Kak Devan's been working hard on. 

Take a deep breath, then breathe out slowly. I pulled the corner of my lips to smile, to relieve the raging feeling of meeting with Kak Devan.

"You can, Lilis!" I try to encourage myself.

Arriving at my destination, I was moved by the scenery. 

A table with two chairs on display at the edge of the pool. Around him were many small yellow lanterns scattered around him. There is a bouquet of sunflowers in a small vase, to beautify the table. 

A very romantic sight. I sat down on one of the chairs while still looking at the surroundings. 

I waited for my husband here for fifteen minutes. There's no sign yet that dinner is about to begin. Could there be another surprise?

I stood up then stepped closer to the swimming pool. Seeing the reflection in the calm water. Close your eyes and spread out both hands. Now I have a calming atmosphere.

I felt something pushing my body and in an instant I was already at the bottom of the pool. The face is very painful because it directly collides with the surface of the water.

Fortunately, I was able to swim. I immediately lifted my body to swim upwards. As soon as it appeared on the surface, I immediately took a deep breath. Only a little water enters the nose.

My feet are tracing the water down there, so that it can be balanced floating vertically in the water. Looking around, there was no one other than me here.

"Who pushed me? Where did the employees go at this resort?" ask me to myself.

I don't know how deep this pool is, the most important thing now is to get out of here. The cold temperatures have started to take over my body.

I began to swim to the edge of the pool closer, because the stairs were to climb away from the position where I was splashed. Arriving at the poolside, I'm sorry now. I can't climb on this distended stomach. 

"I have to go up immediately, before I have any muscle cramps," I murmured while shivering.

Increasingly strengthen the grip on the edge of the pool, trying to find help. I saw a shadow. Maybe the employee is here.

"Please! Help u! Help me!" I screamed loudly. The cold is getting more and more draining.

I felt relieved, as there were about three people starting to come towards me. I waved my hand to show my current position.

"Please help me to ride!" My voice started to shake.

"Lilases! How can you swim at night like this?" That's Evan's voice. He heard screaming and helped me. 

"Let's help this Mba ride!" said one employee.

"You don't b*doh. She's pregnant. Her stomach would rub against the edge of the pool if you pulled her like that." Brother Evan scolded one of the employees who tried to pull my body.

Unexpectedly, Sister Evan took off her shoes, directly into the pool. He wrapped his left hand around my shoulder, and his right hand was placed in the fold of my knee. With ease Evan raised this body like a princess and put it on the ground. 

Now I'm really relieved to have survived. Evan's brother came up and came up to me. 

"Pick him a blanket or anything that can keep him warm!" brother Evan shouted at the people around him.

Before long blankets, towels, and other fabrics began to cover my body. Someone also gave me a glass of warm water, which I immediately drank in half.

"Thank you everyone" I said softly as I returned the glass. My voice is still shaking.

"Where's Devan?" asked Evan, wiping my hair with a towel, which was brought by the resort employee.

I'm shaking.

"You should be having dinner with Devan, right?" fawning Evan again.

"Came on!" call someone whose voice I know very well.

I looked up directly at the sound. That's Brother Devan's voice. He tried to get close to me by picking up the clustered employees. Brother Evan immediately stepped out of my sight, letting Brother Devan take his place.

"Why are you like this?" Brother Devan hugged me. "We're going to the hospital, now!"

"No. I want to rest in my room. My body is tired." That's all I want now. 

"Yes, I've." Brother Devan brought me back to the room. 

Arriving at the room, not long after came the female doctor assigned to check on me. Luckily me and my baby are okay.

After the doctor left, Devan apologized many times. Regret was clearly visible on his face.

"It has. I'm fine, Brother."

"If you hadn't been too busy with my own business, and had come on time, you wouldn't have experienced something like this."

"God is still protecting me and this fetus. Don't worry anymore, will you?"

"Now you eat first, then take vitamins."

"No, Brother. I want a break." 

"You haven't had dinner yet. Please, for our son's sake. Maybe you're not hungry, but our child-to-be needs to be fed, baby. After that you can rest."

I was stunned, right said Kak Devan, should not ngeyel. Now I'm taking two lives. Thinking about the health of the baby, I nodded weakly. 

"I'm a bribe." Devan took a plate of warm chicken team rice that was on the nightstand. I accepted the bribe with pleasure. For me it's better than having to eat porridge.

If I hadn't eaten dinner, Devan wouldn't have, would I? I stopped the bribe by holding his hand. 

Brother Devan frowned. "Why?"

"Replace, Brother must eat too." I took over the spoon, then turned to feed him. 

Devan's brother just shut up, didn't open his mouth. Why won't he come eat with me?

"I'm sorry, brother. Because of me, our dinner failed. Everything that Brother has prepared is in vain," I regretted sadly. 

"No, Honey. I should have apologized. I was nowhere to greet you when you came. I'm sorry." 

"I'll be sorry, as long as Brother eats too. We'll eat a bowl of both." 

Brother Devan nodded. This time he opened his mouth, taking a bribe from me. 

"Look! We feed each other. It's romantic too, right?" I said with a sweet smile. Brother Devan just smiled in response. I know he must still blame himself. 

We feed food by alternating. The food in the bowl was not long after. Just then the door was knocked from the outside.

"I'll see who's knocking on the door. You're taking the vitamins!" kak Devan's orders. 

I followed what Brother Devan told me. Not long after, Brother Devan came back, along with the man who had helped me, Brother Evan. He came in with a change of clothes.

Brother Devan invited the husband of Kak Laras was sitting on the sofa, which was directly opposite to the mattress where I rested. My husband was sitting next to her. Brother Evan looked at me with a slightly uncomfortable look.

Brother Devan flicked his thumb with his middle finger, in front of Kak Evan's face. He himself immediately gasped because it was the man with the status of my husband.

"So soon speak! Lilis should get some rest. Don't waste our time!" tell Brother Devan to Brother Evan.

Evan is still silent. Even after being lured by Kak Devan. I'd better start this conversation first.

"thank you. Thank you for helping me out earlier," I said, playing with my finger under the blanket. So they won't know that I'm nervous.

"Together," replied Brother Evan flatly. His eyes are now focused on my stomach. I slowly put the blanket up.

"You're making it awkward!" grunt Brother Devan on my brother-in-law. "Quick talk!"

"How can you be in the pool?" ask Evan.

"I'll have dinner with Brother Devan" I replied innocently.

"I mean why do you swim at night?" ask Evan with a sour face.

Me and Devan looked at each other. "Astagfireullah! Why did I forget to ask Lilis this?" Brother Devan patted his forehead. 

I thought, we forgot to discuss this, so busy blaming each other, because of the failure of our romantic dinner.

"True Evan said. How did you get in the pool?" This time, Devan looked worried.

"I felt like someone was pushing my back into the pool. When I popped my head, there was no one there but me" I replied. 

"You sure you were pushed by someone? Not because it slipped, right?" ask Devan to make sure.

"Yes, brother," I answered steadily. "I feel alone on my back" I continued.

The two men in front of me were silent. Maybe thinking about what I've been through. Their faces look very serious.

"At this resort there's a surveillance camera, right?" ask Brother Devan to Brother Evan.

"Of course" replied Evan. "In this day and age, which places are not fitted with surveillance cameras?" continued.

"That means ...." 

"meaning?" Brother Evan followed Kak Devan with a confused face.

"You're this. Lem*t. We're leaving now!" invite Kak Devan by pulling the shoulder of Kak Evan, making him forced to stand.

"Wait first! I want to talk to Lilis" refused Evan.

"Lilis just took her medication. He has to rest" my husband said. Then Devan walked towards the bed.

"You're resting now, yeah. I'm just gonna go for a second." Brother Devan kissed my forehead before pulling Evan out.

"Just a moment." Brother Evan is still tight. 

"can't. Or I won't allow you to see Lilis forever" Sister Devan threatened.

"But where are we going?"

"To the room that monitors all the surveillance cameras."

I can still hear their debate. Until I finally fell asleep, resting my body.
