Sister of Inpar Malang
Chapter 6 Dinner Banquet
POV Lilis
"Came on!"
The deg!
This low baritone voice ... why is he here? The body froze, but the legs trembled. I want to run, but there are nails on my feet that stick to the earth. I didn't know I could be this happy with him.
"Stop right there!" I shouted while raising my hand.
He immediately stopped with wide eyes. Now we are three meters away. I looked around and it turned out that there were some students staring at us, then passed away. I instantly changed the expression on this face, so that no one would be spoiled.
"Lis, I'm .." she said softly.
I was still watching what he was going to do, even though he was still scared. Then he opened his briefcase, took out a plain yellow stock box and thrust it at me.
"This .. accept." I'm still quiet.
Just as he was about to step, I immediately raised my hand again, for him to stop stepping. "Stay there!" hisisku.
"Lis, this is the provision from Mother, just forgot to be given to you. I don't want you to be late or eat recklessly."
I took one step forward, then grabbed the box quickly, then retreated again.
"Thank you" I answered briefly. Then behind him, about to leave.
"Lis, can we bi-"
I turned around and cut the conversation. "No need, Sister-in-law. There's nothing to talk about. I hope Brother-in-law understands enough of the boundary between us. Soon the bell comes in, I have to go to class. Excuse me." I left and looked no further back.
Brother Evan. Yes, that was Evan's sister. The man who was considered to be his own brother, but with his strength destroyed me. Don't know what my mistake was until I did something bej*t like that. Hopefully the meeting did not make my learning mood broken.
*****
Sunday has arrived. Me and Brother Laras help Mom cook food for dinner tonight. If you are taking care of your bonsai tree collection. Brother Devan? I don't know. From earlier he was just sitting in the corner of the kitchen, seeing the three of us busy wara-wiri. As for Evan, he said he was going to pick up his parents. Thank God, so I don't have to meet him.
Almost Magrib, all the food is ready. All family members clean themselves for the preparation of congregational prayer. Finished congregation, we all sit in the living room waiting for the arrival of Kak Evan's family.
Not long ago the sound of the gate opened, followed by the sound of a car entering the yard. It looks like Evan and his parents. We went straight to the terrace to welcome Kak Laras' husband and in-laws.
The rear car door opened, displaying a male and female figure that still looked handsome and beautiful at her middle age. Yeah, it's Om Rifan and Aunt Maya, Evan's parents.
Evan got out of the car walking behind his parents. Looks very handsome and handsome, with black jeans and a black shirt fitting the body that forms the chest of his field. Unfortunately, it is not comparable to his immoral behavior.
"Wa'alaikumsalam," we answered in unison.
"How are you, Mr. Arif and family?" ask Om Rifan to Dad.
"Thank God, we're all healthy." Dad answered while shaking hands and hugging Om Rifan.
"Thank you, yeah, Besan. We invited everyone to dinner. So trouble you guys." Aunt Maya approaches Mom. Then do the tradition of mothers in general, namely cipika cipiki.
"Together, Jeng. Not a hassle, really. Oh, yeah, where's Elan? She's not coming?" Mother asked about the whereabouts of the first child of Om Rifan and Aunt Maya.
"He's handling a branch company outside the city that just opened last month." Om Rifan answers Mom's questions.
"Oh, so. Yeah, that's okay," I'm a little disappointed.
I, Kak Laras, and Kak Devan took turns to greet Om Rifan and Aunt Maya. As Kak Devan was about to shake hands with Om Rifan, the middle-aged man stared intensely at Kak Devan, then turned to look at Father.
"This, Devan. He's the son of my cousin who lives in the mountains. I'll tell you later. We better go in and keep eating dinner." Dad took Om Rifan to walk in the house. Then we are the ones left.
"Yes, ayok. Mumpung is still warm it's food," invite Mother as well.
Dinner went quietly, with only the clangs of spoons and forks on each plate. Just glancing from the tail of the eye, Brother Evan was eating while occasionally glancing at me. I just keep eating while I'm down. Not taking my eyes off the plate in front of me.
After dinner, the men moved to the living room, while the women cleaned up the former meal just now. Because it is done by four people to be quick and light in cleaning the used equipment. We women followed the men moving into the living room. When just arrived in the living room sound Om Rifan was asking Kak Devan.
"Oh, so you're continuing your parents' company, son Devan?"
"Yes, Om. Right," replied Brother Devan while nodding politely. Looks charismatic and elegant, maybe like this if he is meeting with clients. It's different when you're with me. Jail and her ring for mercy.
We continued to talk lightly and warmly. Father sat in a single seat, next to him Om Rifan and Aunt Maya sat in the same chair, Brother Evan with Kak Laras. Mother, I, and Brother Devan sat in chairs filled with three people, with me in the middle between Mother and Brother Devan.
Not long after, Dad asked permission to go to his study for a while, and will be back again. Our eyes all accompanied Dad's departure, until Aunt Maya's voice distracted everyone and made my body stiffen.
"Lilis, you seem a bit chubby, yeah, now. Look at that, his cheeks are gnarling," said Aunt Maya by clenching her palms in front of her chest. Korean women pose if you are gushing.
I just answered with a forced smile. My cold hands reflexively squeezed each other. Is that how it looks?
"Lately, you have eaten a lot. You also like to eat something related to apples. Don't you like apples, do you?" Kak Laras' question made everyone look at me.
Everyone knows I don't like apples. Just for a trivial reason. When I was a kid when I heard the snow princess fairy tale, I felt sorry and would not eat the fruit. Fear of fate is like Snow White.
"Why not just ask Evan?" Father suddenly came and spoke a very surprising thing. Everyone in this room looked at each other with confused faces and curiosity.
