The Part 94
A year since her husband's departure, Mrs Ratih's health has begun to decline. Almost every month he had to be hospitalized.
Under these conditions, Novia is required to be good at dividing time between taking care of her family and her work
Luckily Novia has a boss who wants to understand her situation, although often gets strong insinuations from her coworkers because she herself can not be maximal in carrying out her duties.
As is the case today, Novia had to go home early because she received her mother's report back on the drop.
"Assalmualaikum," said Novia when entering the room Mr. Rizal to ask permission to go home.
"Wa'alaikumussalam, what's the matter Novia ma'am?" ask Mr. Rizal
"Sorry sir, today I let my mother drop home again at home" he said.
"Oh, please. Who replaced Novia in the class?"
"I asked Mr. Putra for help, to fill the void in my class" replied Novia
"Well, may he recover soon, take good care of your mother" said Mr. Rizal
"Thank you sir, I'm sorry." Novia bowed as a sign of her respect and gratitude.
Novia came out of Mr. Rizal's room in a hurry, Diana who was in front of the door was staring cynically at Novia but she did not want to respond, for her to think of her mother's circumstances was far more important than serving Diana's attitude.
Novia hounds Camillah and drives her bike home, after dropping Camillah Novia rushing again to Adiba and Emir's school to pick them up.
Arriving home, Novia entered the house in the living room of two neighbors were waiting for Mrs Ratih.
Novia put down her bag, walking quickly towards her frail-looking mother.
"Well, we go to the hospital" said Novia slowly.
Mrs Ratih shook her head several times, refusing Novia's request.
"Mommy wants to be here, Vi, mama's tired of going in and out of the hospital but nothing has changed."
Novia shifts her body even closer to her mother, this time her mother seems resigned and desperate so Novia carefully persuades her.
"Well, if mama resigned like this surely papa sad to see it. Do you remember what the doctor ordered?"
"Yes, I remember, but I'm tired of Vi unceasingly checking in."
Bu Ratih's face was so clear, balking when Novia took him to the hospital.
One of the neighbors finally said, "let's say, son, if your mama refuses not to be forced maybe your mama feels more comfortable at home."
Novia was silent, her mother had refused and she could no longer do anything but obey her mother's will.
Novia sat leaning back while contemplating, her heart indecisive. There is a desire to tell her sister Riska but she also hesitates because surely Riska will force her mother to the hospital.
On the other hand, if he does not inform about the state of his mother, his brothers will be angry with him.
"I'm confused, God, my mother refused to be admitted to the hospital but if Riska knew she would force her." Novia slammed
I don't know who told Riska, Suddenly he came in a hurry and approached Novia.
"Why didn't you tell Vi's sister? Mama's sick you let it go like this," said Riska annoyed
Novia was stunned, just now she planned it turns out that there was someone who preceded her to inform her brother.
"Next time do not repeat Vi, we leave and trust mama to you but instead like this," said Riska.
Mrs Ratih turned her head and said, "it's not Novia's fault, the mother who does not want to be invited there."
Riska turned to face her mother, her face showing annoyance because she felt her mother was defending Novia.
"Well, I'm upset why he didn't tell me and let me stay like this." Riska pointed towards Novia.
Novia was downcast sad, if only her mother was in good health, Novia would have denied all the accusations of her brother.
"Novia forced me to go to the hospital, but your mother refused" said a neighbor who was still there
"You better not fight, just focus on taking care of your mother. Aunty herself saw your mother reject Novia's invitation
The sentence just slapped Riska's selfishness, all this time it was Novia who took care of their mother because she was more concerned with her work.
Riska was sitting limp, realizing her error scolding Novia in front of others.
Meanwhile, Novia got up from her place and went into her room. His heart rumbled withstanding resentment and disappointment.
"You always feel right, just keep going. I always sincerely take care and take care of my mom but you never appreciate it all, is it because I'm still living hitchhiking in this house?" gumam Novia.
A clear thread dripped down Novia's cheek, the woman grabbed the pillow and hugged it. Her father's shadow was present back in her mind making her cry even more.
Camillah went into the room and approached her mother, the boy stroked her mother's back and asked, "mom why are you crying?"
"It's okay, mama's fine just a little tired," replied Novia then rubbed her tears.
"Millah, accompany your sisters to play mama want to rest first yes," said Novia
Camillah nodded, then walked out of the room and took her sisters to the back garden.
Riska is still in her place, she must admit Novia is much more reliable and deft taking care of her mother. But the ego within Riska refuses to acknowledge that.
Riska went and stepped into the kitchen, picked up food and then fed her mother.
"Where's my mom's medicine?" asked Riska on the sidelines she fed her mother.
"In the room, on the nightstand usually Novia saves," replied Mrs Ratih.
After feeding her mother, Riska went into the room to take the medicine and she returned to her mother.
"The drinking rules are already on the package, you just read it," said Mrs Ratih
After cleaning all the dirty dishes and her mother's medicine, Riska bailed home and picked up her son at school.
"I came home first mah, children also have to be picked up at school," said Riska while greeting her mother.
Mrs Ratih just nodded, deep down she felt sad at Riska's attitude towards Novia.
After all, a mother will feel which child is truly sincere and which is just doing the duty as a child.
"If papa were still around, the children would not fight like this because they have to take care of mama" said Mrs Ratih
Novia came out of her room after learning her brother had come home, with slow steps she approached her mother.
"Huh, have you eaten?" ask Novia
"Here, your brother took it," said Mrs Ratih.
"I'm sorry, I can't do my best to make Riska angry."
Mrs Ratih shook her head and said, "you're innocent, you just want to be home and feel more comfortable here."
