Hachisaku~sama part 4 [End]

The man on my left looked down at me and said, "You're alone in trouble. I know you might be worried. Lower your head and close your eyes. We can't see Hachishakusama but you can. Don't open your eyes until we get you out of here."

My grandfather drove the car in front and my father's car followed behind. When everyone was ready, our little convoy started moving. We walked quite slowly .. about 20km/h or maybe less. A while later, K-san said, "This is where things get tough," and started muttering a prayer under his breath.

That's when I heard Hachishakusama's voice.

"Ro ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ..."

I gripped the parchment K-san gave me tightly in my hand. I lowered my head, but I peeked outside. I saw a white dress fluttering in the wind. It moves with the van. It was Hachishakusama. He was out the window, he was following us.

Then, he suddenly leaned over and peered into the van.

"No!" I jerked.

The man next to me shouted, "CLOSE YOUR EYES!"

I instantly closed my eyes with all my might and tightened my grip on the piece of parchment. Then there was a knock from outside the van.

Tok, Tok, Tok, Tok, Tok, ...

The voice became louder.

"Ro ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ..."

Someone knocked on the glass outside the van around us. Everyone in the van was shocked and agitated, muttering nervously to themselves. They could not see Hachishakusama and they could not hear his voice, but they could hear the sound of glass tapping. K-san started praying harder and harder until she almost shouted. The tension inside the van was unbearable.

After a while the sound of knocking stopped and the sound vanished.

K-san looked at us and said, "I think we're safe now."

Everyone around me breathed a sigh of relief. This van stops by the side of the road and people are on the way out. They moved me to my father's car. My mother hugged me tightly and tears ran down her cheeks.

My grandfather and father bowed to all those who had helped and those people continued their respective journeys. K-san came to my father's car window and asked me to show him the piece of parchment he had given me. When I opened my hand, I saw that the parchment was completely black.

.

After that, we headed straight to the airport and my grandfather saw us safely on the plane. As we left, my parents breathed a sigh of relief. My father said that he had heard of "Eight Feet Tall" before. Years ago, his friend was liked by him. The boy disappeared and was never seen again.

My father said there were other people he liked as well and lived to tell them. They all had to leave Japan and settle in a foreign country. They never returned to Japan.

Hachishakusama always chose children as his victims. They say it is because children depend on their parents and family members. This makes it easier to cheat while disguising themselves as their brothers.

My father said that the people in the van were all blood relatives, and that's why they were sitting around me and why my father and grandfather were driving in front and behind. Everything is done to try and confuse Hachishakusama. It took me a while to contact everyone and gather everything together, so that's why I had to be locked up in the room all night.

My father told me that one of the little Jizo statues (which was meant to keep him stuck) had been broken and that was how Hachishakusama escaped.

It makes me shiver. I was happy when I finally got home.

All of this happened more than 10 years ago. I haven't seen my grandparents since. I can't set foot in that country again. After the incident, I would call them every few weeks and talk to them on the phone.

For years, I tried to convince myself that it was just an urban legend, that everything that happened was just a complicated joke. But sometimes, I'm not so sure.

My grandfather died two years ago. When she was sick, she did not allow me to visit her and she gave me strict orders of her will so that I would not attend her funeral. Everything is so sad.

My grandmother called me a few days ago. He said he had been diagnosed with cancer. She missed me so much and wanted to see me one last time before she died.

"Grandma's sure, Grandma?" My toot. "Is it safe?"

"It's been 10 years" he said. "It all happened a long time ago. All forgotten. You're an adult now I'm sure there won't be any problems. "

"But ... but ... what about Hachishakusama?" I said.

For a moment, it sounded silent and silent there. Then I heard a voice that sounded...

"Ro ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ... Po ..."
