Episode 48 New Manager's

Before Khalis' departure to Doha, he had given references to potential assistants who would be considered his successor. Of course, Dimas' name is on the top of the list, as a new assistant manager.

On Monday morning, Dimas' first day with the new manager. As usual, Dimas will arrive 15 minutes early, to prepare for the report he will give to his manager. Shortly after putting the bike on, he immediately headed to the manager's office to put down the sales and maintenance files the previous week. After that, as usual Dimas will soon be at his desk.

At exactly 8 a.m., the manager's door was opened. A man who looked slightly older than Khalis entered the room. Dimas followed him.

"Assalamu'alaikum, good morning, sir," said Dimas.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, morning. Oiya, I'm asking for coffee. In addition to mineral water, please always have coffee on my desk" the manager asked.

"Well sir" replied Dimas.

"Oiya, this new assistant candidate file, you return it to HRD, I am lazy to find new people, you have 5 years of experience, you certainly understand the ins and outs of this job, he said, so you will remain an assistant" continued Arfan, the new manager.

"So there's no re-election, sir?" ask Dimas.

"No need, I trust Khalis' judgment, he says you're the best assistant, so let's do the work!" answer Arfan.

"Thank you, sir!" said Dimas gratefully.

After reporting all the workshop and marketing activities, Dimas returned to his desk with a beaming heart. He immediately contacted Rahma to inform him of the good news.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Russia. Alhamdulillah Abang remains assistant manager, there is no re-election" said Dimas.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, thank God, Bang. I really listened to him. Oiya, we'll let's go, Bang. I'm making a fat chicken that has spills, yeah!" rahma replied excitedly.

"Eeee don't be careless, pity the baby's spiciness, you know" said Dimas reminded.

"Oiya, I'll make him feel polite" replied Rahma.

Good news about his status was immediately conveyed to Khalis, who was still in Jakarta before leaving for Qatar.

"Congratulations then. Dim, if later you have difficulties, anytime you can contact me," Khalis said.

"Thank you, Mom."

Dimas happiness because he is still trusted to be in his position, as an assistant manager also makes some other employees feel jealous. In addition to the age of Dimas who was very young when he was first selected as an assistant, the lack of work experience is the main reason for their dislike.

Although after that, Dimas can prove his performance, envy is increasingly visible every Dimas believed to lead meetings and several times training.

News of his position not shifting, made some Dimas competitors who wanted his position feel disappointed and not treated fairly, because Arfan did not consider their performance, he said, but only vote based on Khalis' recommendations.

After 1 month of working as a new assistant manager, Dimas began to feel the difference in the way Arfan worked with Khalis, who Dimas said was inefficient and too relaxed.

Even sometimes he had to cover all Arfan's work, so he felt overwhelmed and contacted Khalis to ask for an opinion.

"How do you want? hmmm try to wait until 2-3 months, who knows he only ngetes you in the first month he works, to see the performance of his men. Who is reliable and who is not" Khalis replied.

After ending the phone call with Khalis, Dimas gained a bit of enlightenment and a new spirit.

The next day, he returned to his role as an assistant which, this time, was heavier than his previous years with Khalis.

"Sir, this is a report from the workshop. Yesterday was just a purchase order for spare parts and these are vehicles that are under repair and that have been completed" Dimas said, handing over a map containing the reports he mentioned.

Arfan opened them one by one without a sound, but he was seen only reading them at a glance.

"You read the obstacle, if there is no problem, it is bypassed" said Arfan.
