Sword Anthem's

Sword Anthem's
Chapter I - Odd Mission I

"I finally came out of that cursed arena too" I muttered with a sigh.

At least this time I have replied to what has happened to me in the past. The question is, what am I going to do now? It was a simple question after successfully filling my ego.

There are so many things that I need to do, but for now I may have to worry about how my own advice is. I also still remember the finances that began to recede thanks to a tiny creature rodent sweet candy.

After all I thought about it now, either the fight or the prize of the festival was already very stale.

Currently in the Kingdom of Ronove a great many events were taking place from the previous two days. Celebration of Magic Knight Festival—Cheias Vastica, this is the name I always hear when this festival takes place.

However, for the people of Ronove Kingdom, they preferred the magic knight festival because it was easy to remember.

Many events take place from entertainment to food stalks everywhere. Street entertainers or other games, but of all that there is the most prominent thing. It was a fight in one arena to determine who would be the champion.

The gift that the king of this kingdom promised was a title as well as a special status as an elite knight—Knight Legion. Those who are selected are people with high abilities and skills in each particular field.

Of course, not only limited to knights, even a magic user can enter the ranks of elite knights. Either, whether this was a direct idea from the king, or because there was something so this naming came about.

"If it's not wrong then the prize is a title and also money, huh? But now it's changed…."

I do not know what it looks like, but one thing that is certain is the formation of the unity of this elite knight unit because it is caused by the defense of the kingdom that began to be careless. It was my wild opinion and conjecture, but more clearly I still don't know.

Given how this festival completely changed me, I didn't expect these people to still remember me. Even after all these years I left this place and decided to return. They still recognize me clearly.

Did I give such a deep impression, huh?

Might? I don't know.. Then why should I think about this useless thing? Hahhh.

"Knight Legion? Sounds more like a stupid knight to me."

I'd better figure out how today I'm gonna get my stomach filled. After I poked the pocket of the right pants, the money I found was only two pieces of bronze.

Ordering drinks with this money is impossible, let alone ordering food, maybe I will be pelted by a basket of stones.

"How about we go to the mission board?"

The voice suddenly appeared from my right. At first the figure of this little girl was a little transparent and as soon as she smiled, her transparent body had become solid, and now she was floating right next to my head.

"Fear? I thought you were out for a walk, apparently in the sword"

"Sword? You mean that wooden stick?" ask again while tilting your head. "I only took a short nap because it was very comfortable in it," he continued and yawned widely.

Fear..this little girl is actually a "man" spirit contractor. More precisely the entity of the embodiment of nature formed by the desire of people to carry out Mana. It is like a catalyst, but it has its own consciousness, and of course it all depends on the adaptation in which they are born.

However, in Fear's case, it was extremely rare, or perhaps I could call it a rare case. In fact Fear itself is not affiliated with the elemental nature itself, but rather it is a spirit that can be a reinforcement of any kind of Mana.

Her maroon long hair was disheveled, only modelled on a clean white summer dress. His figure was floating beside me so casually.

Although not everyone can see his form clearly, is he not too relaxed with his attitude?

"Kuro... hey, Kuro!" called suddenly.

"E-uhh?! What's?"

"Where else are you going? We're already here, lhoo"

"O-oh."

I almost forgot what we were going here for, but to the point of making me unconscious like that. Maybe I thought too much about it. Are these signs I should take a day off?

"I'm sorry, I was a little daydreaming. So what kind of mission do you think is interesting?" ask me while looking through the mission sheet.

"Hmm... extirpation? or hunting?"

"Destructionist? The hunt? You mean hunting monsters again? What if this time we take on a slightly relaxed mission?" ask me while I'm resting my chin.

"But I want to eat that candy again—"

"What do you think is wrong who our finances can be dying for, huh?"

"Ugh."

His face began to frown as if regretting his actions. If this is left alone, I'm not sure my money will last until tomorrow. Don't let it look like it fools you guys, if I'm careless it's possible that my savings coffers could run out in an instant just because of sweet candy.

Oho! I almost forgot to explain. In my vision Fear is a jolly little girl who looks spoiled, but for people who are not used to the appearance of the figure of Fear. What they saw was a luminous ball of warm pink—Orbs that had the tail of small light crumbs.

I've asked some people this and that's their answer. And what if anyone could see this figure? They should at least have a bond with me and of course through Fear's permission as well.

This is a simple problem that Fear sometimes makes complicated. All because the contractor spirit resembles an animal and as I explained earlier, Fear is a very rare case.

I took out a piece of worn paper from the top right corner of the mission board, "How about this? Hmm... keep the chicken cattle? Looks interesting"

"Does that mean there are free eggs and meat?—Ughh"

I hit his head with the axe pose. "Your expectations are too high and since when do candy-eating monsters like you care about meat?" ask me while breathing.

"Kuro that was sick." Her eyes grew like whining, "I wonder what it feels like, does that mean no? Although the main dish is sweet food, but eggs or meat can also be, really. Hehehehe," he said with a wide smile that drooled.

"So that means you don't mind this mission, do you?" I asked to make sure while shaking the leaflet.

Fear nodded steadily with a glowing expression, "Yup! I don't mind 100% at all. Then let's do it right now" he said with a big smile.

I looked up to make sure the sky wasn't cloudy and it seemed like it was bright today. It is also very good weather to travel out of town. With the weather conditions are quite cool and the sunlight is also not too hot, I will immediately go to this mission place.

After we decided to actually take on this mission, we ended up heading out of town. In that case at least I have an acquaintance that I can rely on.

Some of them were the guards of the royal gate. Here are some of the benefits I can get by getting along with them, one of which is that I can find out the latest information about the Kingdom of Ronove or strange things that have happened lately.

The information regarding the Legion Knights I got from them as well. Although not very complete, at least I can know the big picture.

"What else do you think, Kuro? Ahh... Wait, lest it be a troublesome thing, huh?" ask Fear while touching under her lips with a tiny index finger.

"It's not as complicated as you're imagining right now, Fear," I answered and stroked her hair softly. "I'm just looking at the finish line of this mission"

"Final line?"

I nodded slowly too. "Umm. Whether this is a dangerous mission or not, I've seen nothing in return. Maybe the person who wrote this letter didn't list it or they kept it a secret because of something"

"Ummu. You're right too. Let me see." Fear took the mission flyer out of my hand. "Yes. There's no reward. Then why would you take it?"

My mouth turned small, "Didn't I have said it since the beginning?"

"Times?" tanyanya while tilting her head.

"Ahaha. Are you forgetful or pretending to forget? I took it because it looked fun."

Fear's expression was slightly jolted. "Oh! Right too."

After passing through the stone bridge that curved upwards we arrived in front of the city gate. Just giving a brief wave of hands, the gatekeepers gave me thumbs up, and it was at that moment that the sound of chain-splitting sounds was chasing each other.

Slowly the thick brown-armored wooden gate was lifted upwards. After being completely lifted up, I stepped out, and found the charm of the green scenery as far as the eyes could see

Trees on the left-right, neatly arranged cobblestone streets, and two short wooden fences. All of that is what I first saw and used to pass everyday if taking missions out of town.

When the guards cheered me cheerfully, I waved my hand once more. Hahh.

The mission this time is to take care of the chicken farm. Having a guard dog alone is enough to overcome unwanted things, but the person who put up this mission still seems to be hopeful.

I could see it from the flyers he put on the city mission board. Very worn out and impressed for a long time, did this person still expect someone to take his request even though there was no definite reward? Only a fool would accept it and the predicate fell on me.

Is correct. I was a fool for taking such an obscure mission. However, every once in a while I want to do something different other than hunt monsters or do materials gathering missions.

"Kuro, I don't know where this mission is," said Fear, who is now hovering upside down while trying to see the leaflets in his hands more seriously.

"the place? Uh. hmm. Let me see first," I said as I glanced at Fear.

"More. Take aja…."

I took it and looked back at the contents of the mission more thoroughly. "It doesn't seem like you're lying, does it? But this scrape…."

I found a small part that was not clear because of a stroke. Perhaps rather than a stroke, this looks more like an intentional scratch.

From what I get, this mission says to guard the chicken farm during the night on the night of the full moon. Yes, you did not misread it, and somehow today coincides with the appearance of the full moon.

This indicates that besides the forest wolves, something more dangerous will appear. I don't know what it is, but it's better that I should also be wary of it from now on.

With the description of the place is not clear and there is also the possibility of other threats. It seems my choice to take it was the right move. Nor would I feel bored as it seems this mission is different from any other job.

I also remember where the forest wolves often gathered. If not mistaken the place was located between a small hill to the west of the Ronove Kingdom, the place was inhabited by people who had jobs as livestock cultivators.

Let's just say that my guess is correct, then I no longer need to ask this question to others, and can calmly enjoy this sunny day without being distracted by anything troublesome. Yep. It was asking for the way.

"Where, Kuro? You know where it is?"

"More or less. It's just that I'm not too sure, but if my guess is correct, then this mission is a request from Kirius Village located to the west of Ronove Kingdom," I explained briefly while closing my eyes for a moment.

"Kirius Village? I think I've heard of this place"

"You're not wrong, though. The name of this village is indeed often discussed, especially if it is his business with meat, and eggs. There are many villages that have their own special goods and Kirius Village takes care of things about products that can be produced from Chicken," I continued and exhaled.

"So we can get it for free, right?" ask Fear enthusiastically.

I know how excited this little girl's spirit is, but expect all the products to be free. However, if the price is cut to as cheap as possible, maybe I can still trust it.

After all, right now I don't have much money either and it's all thanks to Fear himself. To this day I still wonder, does an entity like her have shamed veins or not? Hahh. indeed life is not always good.

"That's also if you're lucky. Remember.it's spelled B-E-R-U-N-T-U-N-G. After all, we don't know what rewards they will give after this mission is completed" I said.

"alright. I-i understand. Chicken Meat. Hehehe."

Next time I have to seal Fear inside my sword if I don't want to end up tragically. More precisely I do not want my savings to end tragically in the hands of this little girl's spirit.
