Ivern Bramblefoot, known to many as the Green Father. He was a half-human and half-tree adventurer in the forest of Runeterra, bringing life to every place he went. He knew about the secrets of nature, and was very friendly with all things growing, flying, and also Scuttle. Ivern walked in the wild, imparting quite strange wisdom on all the things he encountered, enriching the contents of the forest, and sometimes telling his secrets to the butterflies he met.
Once upon a time on the Freljord mainland, Ivern was a knight with a heart of steel and an indomitable spirit. But he remained helpless when the Iceborn event occurred that made these mortal beings unable to resist their will. He is appointed by his brothers to lead a ruthless force that travels to a frozen harbor named Frostguard, based on the legend there is a magic power that if he is able to master he will be able to fight the power of Iceborn. With the horizon line already hanging over the horizon, they sailed to the myth and were never seen again, told lost by the winter snow in the stories of the Freljord people.
The sea was the thing they had to fight to reach its destination, its waves smashing hard like a punch towards the chin. Even the bravest men will fall. Ivern, having been rescued from them by cowards, managed to land on a land in Ionia with his fleet and exterminate the local people for his residence. The Ionians surrendered, and led the soldiers to a place known as Omikayalan, the Heart of the World. The people of Freljord thought that this was a treasure they managed to gain by seizing enemy territory, a testament to loyalty. But there, in a vast garden, they must die.
A mysterious enemy appears. The creature was a Chimera, half-human and half-animal, stalking the army, and madly finished them off without a remnant. Unable to resist, Ivern fought at the expense of his army, and managed to find what the Ionians had hidden: the God-Willow, a large tree, decorated by majestic leaves that glowed golden green. While his army was slaughtered, Ivern stood glued to the tree. Trying to do something, he picked up his axe and swung it towards the tree with all his might. He doesn't feel anything. But there was a blinding light as he subverted the God-Willow and destroyed all life in it.
What happened next was even stranger. His hands changed and became the one battle axe he used earlier as well as the wood from the God-Willow tree. His body was elongated, becoming lanky. He stood up unable to do anything else as the rest of his body changed. In a few moments, he was ten feet tall, and looked deep down at the corpses of his troops. He could no longer feel his heart pumping blood all over his body, but he was still alive.
He suddenly heard a voice inside him. “Look,” said.
Within seconds, his body was filled with many fungi and also infested with insects. His flesh was covered with birds and their people. His bones decayed into fertile soil, and the seeds from his fruit were eaten by the conquerors sprouting and growing into trees with their own fruit. Waves rose and fell, as his lungs were gently filled by the breath. The leaves and petals resemble a heart with a lot of color. From the death he had originally feared, now life appeared to explode in an unbelievable manner.
Ivern has never looked this beautiful. Life, in all its forms, is now perched in one thing and looks inseparable. He reflected on the mistakes he made, the cruelty he committed was visible in his shadow, and felt a very deep fear. He was crying, dripping down his tree body. Am I now the God-Willow? He said in his heart.
Then a voice from within Ivern whispered again. “Listen,” said. Anywhere heard.
First, he didn't listen to anything. But then: The groans of countless beasts, the cries of rivers, and the howls of trees and the teardrops of moss. They lament the death of the God-Willow in a symphony of grief. The regret washed over Ivern, and he cried out in regret. A little fox appeared under his feet. He felt the presence of animals around him. Plants also reach for it through their roots. The gaze of this nature led to him, and he felt the warmth of forgiveness.
Then the voice appeared for the third time. “Grow,” said.
That made him wonder. Does he really have to grow by himself or help this world to grow? Until he finally decided he would do both; after all, if it could cultivate anything else, why not? Ivern saw himself, the bark of his tree, the fungus in his hand, as well as the family of squirrels living on his body. His new body surprised him. He realized that he could dig the ground with his thumb that resembled a root.
Ivern is determined to start everything well and he begins to learn how this world lives. It took him thousands of years to do that. Even he is not sure exactly how many years because someone will forget the time when doing things he likes. He walked all over the world and brought a sense of kinship to whatever he met. Iverns learn their weaknesses, are happy with their little habits, and are sometimes willing to help anything for them. He wanted to shorten a worm tunnel, exchange jokes with brambleback, hug the horned elmark until he smiled, and laugh out loud with old wrinkled mushrooms. Wherever Ivern goes, the forest always blooms and the animals are also trapped in peace.
Once he helped an animal that was seriously injured by a predator attack. He met the bloody stone Golem. Seeing that the beast was on the verge of death, he willingly gave the new heart of a river pebble. A fellow mineral creature, the golem eventually becomes Ivern's true friend. He named her Daisy, because of the many beautiful flowers that grew around her body. Today, if Ivern is threatened, Daisy will be present by his side.
Sometimes, he meets a group of humans, many of whom are peace-loving. They call Ivern Bramblefoot or the Green Father and tell a lot about the legend they heard about Ivern. But what they take more than what they give, they can become ruthless and become like other evil humans, making Ivern rush away from them.
Finally, a fourth voice appeared.
“Show me,” said.
Ivern leaves his place in the jungle, and travels to meet the humans who cover the world. The determination he worked with was sometimes avenged, but this time it was not controlled by cruelty or hatred. One day, he hopes to be able to return what he took first. If he is indeed dubbed the new God-Willow, he must cultivate a sense of humanity, helping them by watching, listening, and growing. Ivern understood that being human was difficult, so he smiled and challenged himself to complete his task before the sun completely sunk forever. He knew he had enough time.
