The Artificially Genius Doctor

The Artificially Genius Doctor
Manipulating Time

The night breeze blew, damaging the calm that usually enveloped the small garden outside Rudi's apartment. The dried leaves fall off, dancing to the rhythm of nature, as if trying to calm a restless heart. The moon in the sky highlighted the apartment window with its soft silver glow, creating a twitching shadow on the floor.

Rudi was sitting on the balcony of his apartment, pondering, as his phone shook. She looked at the screen: "Dad". He picked it up, expecting their regular conversations about family news or scientific discussions.

"Rudi.." his father's voice sounded different, trembling and full of anxiety.

"Yes, Dad? What's up?" Rudi felt his heart pound faster, smelling that something was wrong.

"Something happened to your mother. He fainted and was unconscious. Doctors in the hospital couldn't find the cause." His father's words made Rudi stiff.

Rudi stood up, forgetting that he was on the balcony. "Dad, I'm going home right now." His words were quick and firm.

Rudi's hands trembled as he tried to turn off his phone. Her tears began to gather in the corner of her eyes. She felt pressure on her chest, remembering her childhood when her mother was always there for her, giving her spirit and hugging her when she was sad.

Rudi rushed into the apartment, picking up her bags and important items. Mind raging. Although he is a doctor with advanced diagnostic machines, he knows there are limits to human abilities and technology.

On the way to the hospital, Rudi tried to remember all the possible diseases or conditions that could attack his mother. His car drove fast, passing through the streets that began to get wet due to the night dew, illuminated by street lights that emit yellow light.

Upon entering the hospital, a distinctive scent of disinfectant greeted him. He ran towards the ER room, where his father was waiting with a pale face.

"Dad," Rudi approached, his eyes looking for information.

His father looked at Rudi, watery eyes, "The doctor said they don't know what happened yet. They've done various tests, but..."

Suddenly, a nurse ran over, "Dr. Rudy! You should see this!"

Rudi followed the nurse to her mother's room. Upon entering the room, she saw something she had not expected: beside her mother's bed, there was a woman who was similar to her mother, but younger, it was as if her mother was back in her 20s again.

Rudy surprised. "Who is this?"

The young lady looked at Rudi with eyes filled with confusion. "I. I don't know. I woke up here. Whoareyou? Why does everyone call me by that woman's name?"

Everyone in the room was speechless, confused and shocked by this very unexpected event.

Silence filled the room. The lights of the room were dazzling, contrasting with the dense sky outside the window which was only illuminated by moonlight. Water droplets from the infusion add tension, a monotonous sound that breaks the silence.

Rudi's father, with tired and slightly watery eyes, approached the woman who looked like a younger version of his wife. "Sri?" he asked doubtfully, touching the woman's face gently. His face was filled with a mixture of hope and confusion.

The woman retreated slightly, her face revealing a deep confusion. "Why did you call me by that name? Who are you all?" His body was full of fear and self-defense.

Rudi, with her eyes wide and lips quivering, tried to process what happened. His right hand is near the forehead, trying to relieve a headache that is starting to appear. "It's impossible" he whispered.

He approached, trying to observe the woman in more detail. His eyes examined each side of the woman's face, looking for any sign that indicated this was just a dream or hallucination. "Mother? Do you recognize me?" he asked in an almost inaudible voice.

The woman looked at Rudi, her eyebrows twitched, trying to find an acquaintance in her memory. "I'm sorry, I really don't know you" she replied in a trembling voice.

Suddenly, Elsa appeared at the door of the room with a breath of breath. "Rudi, I heard the news and...who is he?" he asked in a voice full of astonishment as he looked at the young lady by the bedside.

Rudi pulled Elsa into the corner of the room, whispering quickly, "That's as if Mom is back young 20 years old. He doesn't recognize anyone here."

Elsa rubs her temples, trying to understand. "Is this the effect of your AI machine?"

Rudi shook his head, "No way. The machine only diagnoses and prescribes treatment. No other function."

In that tension, a doctor entered the room. "I'm Dr. Ani's. I have examined patients and, although it is hard to believe, this is indeed Ms. Sri lank. All medical data and fingerprints show the same thing."

Dr. Ani nodded, "We don't know yet. We'll do some more tests. Right now the most important thing is to take care of his health."

Elsa, with a pale face, whispered into Rudi's ear, "Can this be related to your AI? Maybe there's something we're missing?"

Rudi shrugged, "I'm not sure either. But we have to find out."

However, before they could discuss further, young lady – Ny. Sri – suddenly shouted and pointed towards the window. All eyes were fixed on the silhouette of an old man outside the window of the room, standing in the rain that was beginning to fall profusely, with a familiar-looking look on his face.

Rudi ran over, "Grandfather?" that figure was his grandfather who had died ten years ago.

Surprise after surprise does not seem to be over for Rudi and his family.

The originally heavy rain, slowly began to subside, leaving a soothing gurgle. His grandfather's silhouette stood there, his old clothes drenched. The dim garden lights highlighted the wrinkles on his face, amplifying the peaceful yet sad look on his face.

Rudi took a deep breath, widening his eyes in disbelief. He stepped closer, his heart pounding fast. "Grandfather?" he said in a confused voice. "How is this possible?"

His grandfather, with his wet white hair, looked towards Rudi, a faint smile painted on his lips. "Rudi, you've grown up" his grandfather's hoarse voice filled the air full of the fragrant wet ground after the rain.

Tears started to flow on Rudi's cheeks. He wanted to run to his grandfather, but his legs seemed to be glued. Elsa, who was standing next to Rudi, held her hand, trying to provide support.

"Grandfather, what's going on?" Rudi asked in a choked voice.

His grandfather sighed, turning his gaze to the increasingly clear sky. "There's something unfinished, Rudi. Something you should know."

From inside the room, Rudi's mother's voice sounded, "Pa...?"

Rudy turned. Rudi's mother, with a young and innocent face, looked at the figure of her long-dead father with a longing gaze. Clear tears flowed down her delicate cheeks. "Why are you back, Pa?"

Grandfather looked at Rudi's mother lovingly. "To reveal the truth, Sri. Rudi should know."

Rudi felt as if his world was spinning. His face was mixed between confusion, fear, and curiosity. "The truth? What truth, Grandpa?"

A cold night breeze hit them. The leaves of the trees moved slowly, as if to be a silent witness of this extraordinary encounter. Grandfather stepped closer, the eyes that had once been full of stories now exuded clarity.

"It's time you found out about your advanced machine, Rudi. About its origin."

Elsa squinted her eyes, "But the machine is a creation of Rudi and me, how is it possible..."

Grandpa raised his hand, cutting Elsa. "Not everything is as it seems, Elsa. There's a tremendous power behind that machine, which you're not aware of."

Rudi held her head, "But, why did Mom become young again?"

Grandfather took a breath, "The power of that machine is capable of affecting not only physical health, but also time. It changes the balance of nature. This power is not something to be ignored."

Elsa looked at Grandpa with wide eyes, "Do you mean...This machine can manipulate time?"

With a serious look, Grandfather nodded, "And now, since you have used it without realizing its potential, the balance of nature has been disturbed."

Rudi felt his world crumble, "So, what should we do now?"

Grandfather pulled Rudi and Elsa closer, "You guys have to fix it. Before it's too late."

Surprise after surprise hit Rudi and Elsa. Now, the two of them were at a crossroads, with a huge burden on their shoulders. They have to correct their mistakes, before things get out of hand.
