Consciousness Love

A month after the happiness of the Rudi family is getting perfect, the sad news comes back. Rudi's father died. In a cloudy afternoon, with the sky reddening like a roar, the news reached Rudi.

Rudi stood in the middle of the courtyard, autumn leaves falling all around him, blowing in the wind. As the phone in his pocket rang, he stared at the screen doubtfully before finally picking it up.

"Rudi...," Elsa's voice trembled on the other end, "Your father.

Rudi felt his heart stop for a moment. "Elsa, what's going on?"

He heard Elsa take a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Your father is gone, Rudi."

As if the world stopped spinning, Rudi felt his legs limp. His eyes were glazed over, and the next second, he was in the car, heading for his birth home. Elsa sat next to him, her face paled, eyes met with red.

They quickly arrived at the house surrounded by a white iron fence. In the yard, the walnut tree that Rudi used to climb when he was a child, now stands with a bare branch. Rudi felt every memory with his father flashing in his mind.

When entering the house, the distinctive aroma that he used to often breathe now feels piercing. In the living room, on an old teak table, was a picture of his father with his trademark smile. Rudi approached, holding the picture frame tightly.

Rudi's mother approached another version, hugging Rudi from behind. "We all feel the same sadness, son," he said in a raucous voice.

Rudi looked away, looked at Elsa, and they shared a deep look of sadness. "I'm not ready to lose her, Elsa."

Elsa grabs Rudi's hand, calming him down. "We're never ready, Rudi. But we must be strong, for ourselves and for those who are still alive."

A surprise comes when Rudi finds a letter in his father's desk drawer. A letter with his father's neat handwriting, presented to Rudi.

"My son Rudi, my son,

If you're reading this letter, maybe I'm no longer by your side. I want you to know that I'm proud of you, of everything you've accomplished. I have witnessed your growth, how you face every obstacle with courage and wisdom. Be a good man and take care of your family. Love them as I love you.

With all my love, my,

Father."

Rudi's tears fell soaking the letter. Elsa clenched him tightly, trying to give him strength. Amidst the grief, the letter becomes a source of strength for Rudi, reminding him of the meaning of family and the infinite love of a father for his son.

The next few days were hard for Rudi. Every corner of the house evokes memories of his childhood with his father. The usually bright morning sky, now looked cloudy, reflecting Rudi's gloomy feelings. The leaves of the walnut tree in the front yard continued to fall one by one, as if dancing to the rhythm of sadness that was enveloping Rudi's heart.

Elsa tries to accompany Rudi as much as possible. One afternoon, they sat in the back garden of the house, under a green apple tree. The breeze of the wind that blows adds to the coolness of the air, caressing the faces of the two. From a distance, the sound of children playing, but for Rudi, the world seems to have no color.

Rudi stared at the ground, playing with the grass with his fingers. "I feel like a nightmare, Elsa. I feel like this is not real" he said in a bitter voice.

Elsa grabbed Rudi's hand, looking into his eyes with understanding. "I know how you feel, Rudi. But life has to go on. Your father would not want to see you like this."

Rudi nodded slowly, then looked at the photo of his father stored in his wallet. Father's peaceful face made him feel a little calm.

An idea suddenly popped into Elsa's mind. "What if we make something in memory of your father? A project or something that can inspire many?"

Both are immersed in planning, trying to find the best idea to remember the father. However, a surprise arises when another version of Rudi's mother finds another letter in her father's desk drawer. The letter revealed that Rudi's father had set aside most of his property to build a school for orphans.

Rudy surprised. "Dad always said he wanted to help a lot of people, but I never knew he had such a grand plan."

Elsa looked at Rudi with sparkling eyes. "This is the time to realize your father's dream."

With a new spirit, Rudi and Elsa begin to work hard, building the school that Rudi's father coveted. During the development process, many memories of his father appeared in Rudi's mind, but this time it was not the sadness he felt, but the happiness of being able to continue the father's ideals.

After the school was completed, they named it after Rudi's father. On the day of its inauguration, the morning air was fresh, with sunlight shining down on every corner of the building. The children were running around in the courtyard, laughing merrily, their faces full of hope. Rudi, standing in the middle of them, felt his father was beside him, smiling proudly at what his beloved son had achieved.

Shortly after the school that her father coveted stood, Rudi began to realize that Elsa's presence next to him was not just a friend. She sees Elsa not only as a childhood friend or co-worker, but as someone who has always been there for her in joy and sorrow.

One day, after a long contemplation by the lake near her home, Rudi decides to talk about her feelings to Elsa. The surrounding nature seemed peaceful; small waves broke the silence with rhythmic twangs, while the breeze of the wind blew the dry foliage onto the calm surface of the water.

"Elsa," Rudi started the conversation in a serious tone, "I've been thinking for a long time. After everything we've been through, I feel like there's something more than just friendship between us."

Elsa looked at Rudi with a frown, her eyes sparkling. He looked surprised but also understood. "Rudi, I..," he paused for a moment, looking for the right words.

Rudi took a deep breath, trying to control his pounding heartbeat. "I love you, Elsa. It's been a while, maybe longer than you realize. And I wonder if you feel the same way."

Mimik Elsa changed; her eyes widened and her lips opened slightly, looking surprised by Rudi's confession. However, before he could answer, suddenly a seagull landed near them, stealing Elsa's attention for a moment.

"Rudi," said Elsa after the bird flew away, her voice soft and quivering, "I have also felt so. But I'm scared. Fear will change everything between us, and I don't want to lose you."

Rudi smiled, holding both hands of Elsa. "We'll never know if we don't try, right?"

With a passionate spirit, Rudi prepares a special moment to propose to Elsa. With the help of some friends, he arranges a romantic dinner by the lake. The chandeliers glow gently, illuminating the prepared table with perfect detail. In the distance, violin music is playing slowly.

When Elsa arrived, she looked enchanted. Rudi, in her best clothes, knelt in front of her, "Elsa, are you willing to be a part of my life, be my wife, and be with me through all my joys and sorrows?"

Elsa, with teary eyes, nodded softly, "Yes, Rudi. Yeah." yeah."

However, in the midst of that happiness, there was a surprise waiting for Rudi. Elsa took something from her bag; an old notebook. "Before we continue, there is something I want to show you," he said with a mysterious smile.

In the book, there are Elsa's doodles from when they were young. Page by page, Rudi read Elsa's feelings on the paper, expressing her long-buried love.

Rudi looked at Elsa with sparkling eyes, "You... have loved me for a long time?"

Elsa nodded, "I'm just afraid to reveal it."

Rudi hugged Elsa tightly. The two of them, under the moonlight, were preparing for a new chapter in their lives.
