The night's deck is thickening. In the old hut, Rudi and his family tried to calm down despite the tense atmosphere. The gusts of wind that passed through the cracks of the hut board added a mysterious twang to their ears. Every now and then, the light from the fireflies breaks through the darkness, giving a magical touch amid the uncertainty.
"We must stay here until dawn" whispered Rudi to Elsa, clasping her hand tightly.
Elsa looked at Rudi, her eyes wet, "You sure Dance will be fine?"
Rudi sighed, trying to find the right words. "He's strong. I believe he can handle this situation."
Meanwhile, Tari and Tono faced off at the edge of the forest, illuminated by the moonlight. Dance could see the frown on Tono's forehead and the doubt in her eyes.
"Tono, why are you siding with them?" Dance asked in a voice full of sadness.
Tono stared at Tari, her facial features reflecting the inner conflict she was facing. "The world is changing, sister. We have to choose sides. I'm doing this for our survival."
"Against your own family? Is that what you call survival?" Dance bit her lips, trying to hold back the emotions.
Tono lowered her head. "There's something you don't know yet."
Dance watched Tono, her eyes demanding an explanation. Tono let out a long sigh, "The people who are eyeing Rudi and his family are no ordinary enemies. They come from the future, and their goal is Tanto and Tanti."
Dance widened her eyes. "Why them?"
Tono took a breath, "The two children have a power that can change history. Those people from the future wanted to harness their power for their own sake."
Dance was confused, "But why are you helping them?"
"Because if I don't, they're gonna kill us all. I'm trying to protect our family in my own way" Tono said with teary eyes.
Dancing silent. Suddenly, the sound of the engine approaching. A small plane emerged from the sky, landing near them. The door of the plane opened, and a blonde woman came out. He was wearing futuristic clothes and holding a sophisticated device in his hand.
"Dance" the woman began, "I'm from the future, and I want to talk to you."
Dance standing tall, ready to face whatever is going to happen. He looked at the woman, "Who are you?"
The woman smiled faintly, "My name is Alia. I am your descendant."
Under the shade of the towering old trees, moonlight gently shone on the ground. The cool night breeze caressed Dari's face, fluttering her long black hair that was slowly blown away. In front of her stood Alia, with a shimmering futuristic outfit and a face similar to her, only with signs of a different era.
Dance frowned, trying to digest what she had just heard. "How can you be my descendant? And why did you come to this time?"
Alia, with a sharp look in her eyes yet filled with gentleness, replied, "There are things that are difficult to explain with the words, Dance. I come from the future, from a world shattered by greed and power. Our world is on the brink of collapse, and only Tanto and Tanti have the power to change it."
Tono, who had been silent all this time, now spoke with a serious face, "What do you want from them?"
Alia looked at Tono, her eyes twinkling as if they had a great secret, "They have the ability to correct the mistakes of the past, to restore the balance of the world."
Dance, who was still in confusion, said in a trembling voice, "But why me? Why should my family be involved in this big deal?"
Alia stood firm, "Zephyr, I have to do this to save our future."
Zephyr, with a cold gaze, pointed towards Dari and Tono, "They should come with us."
The dance with quick reflexes ran towards the forest, trying to save itself. Tono follows him, while Alia tries to block Zephyr and his group.
Amidst the darkness of the forest, the sounds of footsteps and the hissing of the wind became the background of their escape. Dari, breathless, spoke to Tono, "We should go back to the hut, save the family."
However, before Tono could respond, suddenly a dazzling beam of light appeared in front of them. When the light dimmed, in front of Dance stood a woman who was very similar to her, but with ancient traditional clothes and a different eye gaze.
Dance looked at him in shock, "Who are you?"
The woman smiled, "I am your grandmother, Dance. I came from the past to help you."
The encounter between the past and the future, with Dance being in the middle, adds a layer of mystery to this story. Who is this woman from the past? How did he appear in the present? And what exactly happened between Alia and Zephyr? All answers will be revealed in the next chapter.
Dance felt as if she was drowning in a confused vortex of emotions. Meanwhile, the lush trees around him seemed to be silent witnesses of this three-generation encounter. The wind blows slowly, shaking off the lush foliage and creating a natural symphony with the gurgling of river water in the distance. The moonlight reflected on the surface of the river water, creating fine shadows on the surface of the river stones.
Granny Dance, with her traditional dress made of maroon-colored woven fabric, took a deep breath as if searching for the right words. His wrinkled eyes showed signs of age, but his light remained sharp and penetrating. "Dance, I know this is hard to believe. But I came from the past to help you."
Dance, with enlarged eyes, asked hesitantly, "But how could grandma? And why did you come?"
Her grandmother smiled, stroking Dari's cheeks with her wrinkled hands. "I've come to tell you the secrets of our family. There is a power possessed by our descendants, a power that can change the destiny of the world."
From behind the trees, footsteps approached. Tono stood beside Tari, her face showing concern. "We don't have much time. They're approaching."
The look on Grandma Dance's face changed, from calm to anxious. "You need to hear my story quickly. That power is in our blood. But that power must be used wisely."
The atmosphere became increasingly tense as the shadows of the Zephyr and his group drew closer. Dance felt her heartbeat gallop, the sun that started to rise in the eastern horizon creating a silhouette of the Zephyr group that was increasingly clear.
With a whispering voice, Grandma Dance continued, "There is a gemstone, known as the 'Time Stone'. That stone you must find. Only with that stone can you control the power in our blood."
Dance nodded, trying to digest the information. But before he could ask any further, suddenly from behind appeared a beam of light. As the light faded, before them stood Alia with a pale face and breathless breath.
Alia looked at Tari with eyes begging, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring trouble for you. But we have to leave soon. They already know."
Grandma Dance, with a stern face, looked at Alia. "Take them to safety. I'll face the Zephyr."
Dance, with teary eyes, clasped her grandmother's hand. "You can't fight it alone."
However, her grandmother smiled sweetly, "You should trust me. Save our future."
With a quick movement, Alia, Tari, and Tono disappeared in a beam of light, leaving Granny Dance face to face with Zephyr and her army.
While in a distant place, amidst the ruins of an ancient building, Tari, Tono, and Alia try to figure out how to find the Stone of Time. They must act immediately before their time runs out.
