The Artificially Genius Doctor

The Artificially Genius Doctor
The Mysterious Librarian

The rain began to fall in the old city. Tanto took a sip of fresh air as he walked slowly, trying to calm his chaotic mind due to the sudden schoolwork. Each of his steps produced a tinkling sound from the puddle of water under his shoes.

"Crazy, I should have brought an umbrella," he murmured as he glanced at the overcast sky.

Without realizing it, Tanto walked into a narrow alley surrounded by historic buildings. The walls of the building have begun to fade, eroded by time, but still stand firmly showing the beauty of the architecture of the past.

As the rain grew heavier, he saw an ancient bookstore with a slightly faded signboard. A warm yellow light shone on the shop window, displaying a neatly organized pile of old books. From behind the glass, Tanto can smell the aroma of old paper.

He hurriedly entered, hoping to find shelter from the rain, as well as perhaps find the book he was looking for. Once inside, the sound of rain began to dim, replaced with the beat of an ancient wall clock and the whirring of the wind from the old vent.

"Welcome" said an old man from behind the cashier's desk. The man had a long white beard and glasses as thick as a bottle base. "What can I help you with?"

"Hmm, I'm looking for a book for my history assignment," replied Tanto hesitantly, his eyes still busy observing the bookshelves.

The old man smiled, "Maybe you will find the one you are looking for here. Or maybe more than that."

Tanto felt that something was strange, but he decided to ignore it. While walking between the bookshelves, his eyes were fixed on a book with a worn-out-looking leather cover, which read "The Phoenix Legend and the Blue Crystal".

"This shop is amazing" murmured Tanto.

"Ah, you found the book," said the librarian, approaching Tanto. "The book has been here for a long time. But remember, not all books speak in words."

Tanto looked at her confusedly, "What do you mean?"

The librarian sighed, "There are stories waiting to be discovered, and some are waiting to be told. Choose wisely."

Tanto was getting curious. He opened the book, but all the pages looked blank. "This... Why is it empty?"

"As I said, not all books speak in words" replied the librarian with a mysterious smile.

Tanto raised his eyebrows, questions filled his mind. What exactly is this book hiding? And what does this have to do with this ancient bookstore?

When I got out of the shop, the rain was gone. But the curiosity just got smoldering. Tanto decides to return the next day, hoping to find the answer to the riddle he has encountered.

As night falls and Tanto lies on his bed, he is reminded of a mysterious message from the librarian. A strange dream approaches him, an adventure in search of the true meaning of "The Legend of the Phoenix and the Blue Crystal".

The dim light from outside the window created a mysterious shadow inside the bookstore. The scent of the old paper grew thicker, as if the shop was harboring thousands of stories it wanted to tell. However, in the middle of all the books that contain it, Tanto holds the only book that, for some reason, the pages are completely empty.

With wide eyes, Tanto flipped through every page, hoping to find at least one printed word. But the book is completely empty. "This is impossible" he murmured softly.

A small laugh distracted him. In a corner of the shop, a little boy with brown curls and cheerful shining eyes was sitting, holding a picture book. The boy looked at Tanto with adorable curiosity, but also with a slight sense of teasing.

"Why are you laughing?" tanto asked, trying to hide his confusion.

Tanto frowned, "What do you mean? Isn't this a book?"

The boy laughed again, "It's not the book you need to read, it's the story behind it."

Tanto sat next to the little boy, his curiosity peaking. "Can you explain it to me?"

The little boy nodded, his face beaming. "The book is no ordinary book. He'll show the contents only at the right time and to the right person."

Tanto stared at the book in his hand with a mixed expression. "Then, why did the librarian give it to me?"

The little boy smiled mysteriously, "Maybe because you are the right person. Or maybe there's an adventure waiting for you."

Tanto felt like he was in the middle of a fantasy story. "So how can I read this book?"

The little boy stood up and walked towards the door, "Search for clues around you. And remember, sometimes the answer is in front of our eyes, we just need to look with the heart, not the eyes."

Before Tanto could respond, the little boy had already vanished from his sight, leaving him with an empty book and a deep curiosity. Tanto stared at the book, then put it back in his bag. Although he was confused, in his heart, he knew that he was on the verge of an adventure that he had never imagined before.

On the way home, Tanto pondered, trying to piece together the pieces of clues he had obtained. A strong feeling prompted him to keep figuring out the mystery behind the empty book. And with renewed determination, he vowed to find the answer.

Just as Tanto was about to put back the book that did not contain it, his footsteps were stopped by a slow coughing sound. He turned his head and found the figure of an old man in a thick purple robe that exuded prestige. His white hair was long, and behind the bottle-bottom thick glasses, his sharp eyes looked at Tanto. In his hand, he held a carved stick that looked like it had been through many generations.

"The book is no ordinary book" he said in a husky but authoritative voice. There was something in the way he spoke that made Tanto feel as if he was talking to someone who had seen a lot of things in his life.

Tanto stared at the librarian with sparkling eyes, "What do you mean?"

The librarian stepped closer, and the light from the lantern above him reflected a strange light on his face. "There's a reason why the book is empty, and there's a reason why you found it."

Tanto frowned, "But I don't understand. Why is this book empty? And what does that have to do with me?"

The librarian smiled faintly, "This book is a mirror. It reflects what is inside the reader. Only those who have a pure heart and a strong desire to know its secrets can see its contents."

For a moment, the bookstore felt quiet and silent. The clattering sound of leaves from outside the window rang out loud in Tanto's ears. He felt as if there was a magnet inside the book that attracted him.

"So, how can I see the contents?" ask Tanto expectantly.

The librarian looked at him deeply, "Your adventure has just begun. You have to find the answer yourself. But one thing I can tell you, sometimes, to see what's in front of us, we have to close our eyes first."

With that, the librarian walked slowly towards the back of the shop, leaving Tanto in a daze but with a burning determination. As he looked back at the book, he felt as if it was talking to him, leading him to an adventure that would change his life forever.

Tanto took a deep breath, feeling a jumble between fear and excitement. With the book in his hands and the words of the librarian echoing in his ears, he is determined to unravel the hidden mysteries and discover the true meaning of "The Legend of the Phoenix and the Blue Crystal".
