The Artificially Genius Doctor
Rudi's Decision

Rudi sat on the edge of his bedroom window, staring at the sea of pink clouds that were marching in the twilight sky. From a distance, the dark night sky began to approach, swallowing the twilight light that was slowly fading away. The chirping of the birds returning to the nest adds to the peaceful atmosphere of the afternoon. A warm teacup was in his hand, its smoke swerving up fused with the coldness of the air.

He sipped his tea slowly, enjoying the warmth that slipped down his throat. "So, have you decided?" ask the soft voice from behind him. He turned his head and met Elsa who was sitting on the sofa with her laptop.

Rudi sighed, "Yes, I decided to enter the Faculty of Medicine." He could see the frown on Elsa's forehead, an anxious and disappointed expression that was hard to hide.

"But.." continued Rudi, surprising Elsa, "I made a deal with myself."

Elsa tilted her head, her straight blonde hair covering part of her face. "What deal is that?"

Rudi looked at his tea, looking for words. "I'll keep learning IT and hacking. In addition to medical school. I can't abandon my passion, El."

Elsa smiled widely, her eyes twinkling. "That's a great idea!" He stood up, walked over to Rudi, and patted his shoulder gently. "I know you can find your way."

Rudi looked at Elsa, his smile full of gratitude. "Thank you, El. Without you, maybe I can't see this path."

The atmosphere became warm, though the night air began to pierce the bones. From the outside, the rustling of moving leaves blown by the wind adds to their preoccupation.

However, then came the ringing sound of Rudi's phone. He took it from the side table, and his face instantly paled upon seeing the name that appeared on the screen.

"Elsa," his voice trembled, "This is my father."

Without waiting, Rudi picked up the phone. "Hello, Dad?"

For a moment, only a whisper was heard from the other side of the phone. Elsa could only look at Rudi, trying to read her tense facial expression. Rudi's forehead creased, his hands trembling.

"Well, Dad," Rudi replied at last, his voice stiffened. He turned off his phone, and it looked like he was losing heart.

Elsa approached, "What did your father say?"

Rudi looked at Elsa, her eyes glazed over. "Dad said, if I choose medicine, I have to be serious. No more time for other things."

Elsa gulps. "So, what are you going to do?"

Rudi took a deep breath. "I have to find a way. I can't let Dad down, but I can't abandon my passion either."

Elsa clasped Rudi's hand, "We'll find a way, Rudi. We always have."

They sat side by side, contemplating an uncertain future. Outside, the stars begin to twinkle in the night sky, promising new hope for two friends struggling to find their own way.

Rudi and Elsa sit next to each other in a small coffee shop located on the outskirts of town. Vintage decor with wooden chairs and chandeliers gives a soothing classic feel. Outside the window, the clear sky shows the beginning of a cool summer. The gurgling sound of water from a small fountain in the outdoor garden of the shop adds to the tranquility of the atmosphere.

A laptop opens in front of Elsa. On the screen, there is an interface that contains program codes lined up neatly. "Rudi, look at this. This is the latest code for bypass firewalls. Maybe you want to try it?" elsa says while showing a specific line of code on the screen.

Rudi stared at the screen, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Wow, this is very sophisticated, El. Where'd you get it?"

Elsa smiled as she narrowed her eyes, "Secret" he said as he typed in a short message. Before long, Rudi's phone vibrated, signaling an incoming message. "I sent it to your email. Try it tonight" Elsa continued in a whispering voice.

Rudi chuckled, "Thank you, El. Oh yeah, I heard there's a big company in Germany whose security system he said was impenetrable. How about we try?"

Rudi nodded, "As a challenge. If we can break through it, that means we deserve to be called experts."

Elsa pondered for a moment, "Okay, but on one condition. If we get caught, we have to stop. Deal?"

Rudi smiled, "Deal!"

The two shake hands, a promise between two best friends who are always together despite being on different paths. Although Elsa chooses the world of IT and Rudi medical, the two always find a way to stay connected.

A notification appears on Elsa's laptop, "Eh, Rudi! Lookatthis. There is news about college registration. Registration date has been announced! Prepare Rudi"

Rudi took a deep breath, "I must decide right away. I had to obey my parents' orders" He looked at Elsa, "But I'm afraid we'll meet less often, El."

Elsa smiled, patting Rudi on the shoulder, "Our friendship is stronger than that. Distance and time can't separate us."

They leave the coffee shop with light steps, walking side by side towards a future filled with mystery but still promising togetherness.

The sky began to darken as Rudi and Elsa sat in Elsa's study. Two laptops, each with neatly lined codes, lit up brightly in a room lit only by soft glowing table lamps. The atmosphere was silent, only interspersed with the sound of their fingers typing fast.

A virtual window opens on Elsa's screen, showing the security systems of the German companies they are targeting. "Here it is, its digital Berlin wall, it is very challenging for Rud." Elsa said with sparkling eyes and a passionate tone. "Ready?"

Rudi sighed, permeating himself at the row of codes that kept running on the screen in front of him. "Elsa, we have to synchronize our attacks. I'll try the SQL Injection method from my side, while you use the Cross Site Scripting technique from your side."

Elsa nodded, her face serious with sweat running down the side of her temple. "Well, give me a signal when you're ready."

Along with the roaring sound of the wall clock, the two companions permeated every passing second with simultaneous finger taps and unwavering focus. Every time their efforts hit a dead end, the notification 'Access Rejected' appeared, smashing into their egos. However, the failure only triggers their spirit to try more.

"We have to do something different" Elsa said, trying to ease the frustration that was starting to build up. "What if we try a combination approach?"

Rudi thought for a moment. "Maybe we can combine Man-in-the-Middle attacks with other methods. It'll probably give us a few seconds to dig deeper."

Shortly after, something changed. Amidst the row of rejection notifications, Elsa's screen suddenly emitted a different message: "Access Received."

They stared at the screen, not believing what they had just witnessed. Then, their eyes met, a reflection of the relief, happiness, and pride in what they had achieved. There was a kind of aura of happiness emanating from their faces.

Rudi broke the silence with his hand lightly patting Elsa on the shoulder. "We did it, Elsa."

Elsa chuckled, "You're right. When there is a desire, there is a way. And we just found it."

Rudi laughed, "I can't believe we actually did it!, it worked."

They then make sure their digital footprint is removed and the system returns to its original state, without any damage. For them, it is not about damaging, but about challenging themselves and expanding their abilities.

The next day, news of a German company whose security system was breached spread. However, no losses or data were stolen. All in all, who did this and what was the motivation?

Rudi and Elsa just exchanged looks of knowing as the news appeared on the television screen. A secret between two friends that strengthens their bond of friendship.
