A gentle breeze blew through the leaves of trees neatly lined up around the medical campus where Rudi studied. The dim sunlight began to penetrate the gaps of the leaves, giving the impression of warm but shady. Under the old oak tree, Rudi sat pensively, her laptop open in her lap. His facial expression was serious, his forehead wrinkled signifying difficulty and uncertainty.
From a distance, Elsa walked with brisk steps towards Rudi. He took a deep breath, watching his friend who seemed lost in thought. His long hair moved agilely in the wind, while his eyes were full of worry. "Rudi," he called slowly.
Rudi turned his head, his eyes that had once been mine now emitted a ray of hope. "Elsa," he replied in a hoarse voice. Elsa sits next to Rudi, checking her laptop. "Still trying that way?" he asked, pointing to a few lines of program code that appeared on the screen.
Rudi took a deep breath, his hands trembling. "I don't know what else to do. I feel trapped."
The look on Elsa's face changed, from worried to firm. "You know, there's another way to get what you want without cheating, right?"
Rudi shook his head slowly, his facial expression looked desperate. "I've tried, Elsa. But I feel incapable."
Elsa takes over Rudi's laptop, her fingers dancing around on the keyboard quickly. "What are you doing?" asked Rudi, his face looked confused.
"Give you some spirit" Elsa replied with a mysterious smile.
A few minutes passed, until suddenly the laptop screen displayed a different look. There was an image of the brain with several areas flashing, and next to it was a running text: "Memory Enhancement, Concentration Optimization, and Learning Motivation Improvement."
Rudi stared at the screen with wide-eyed eyes, "This....this is what?"
Elsa smiled broadly, "This is a prototype software that can help you learn more effectively. I've been developing it for a long time, but I haven't been able to finish it."
Rudi looked at Elsa with sparkling eyes, "Why didn't you ever tell me?"
Elsa sighed, "I want you to learn how to deal with adversity in your own way. But looking at you now, I think you need this help."
For a moment the two fell silent, enjoying the gusts of wind that was getting louder and the leaves that were falling. Rudi held Elsa's hand tightly, "Thank you, Elsa. I'm lucky to have a friend like you."
Elsa smiled, but her eyes glazed over, "I just don't want you to get lost, Rudi."
The college park, as always, becomes a favorite place for students to relax for a while between their busy lives. The lush pine trees and the smell of wet soil post-rain add to the freshness of the air. On one of the wooden benches, Bryan, one of Rudi's classmates, was seriously looking at his laptop screen. A pinch of his brown hair fell over his forehead, while his two eyebrows drew closer together, signaling full concentration.
Rudi flashed, staring at Bryan who looked so serious. "Hey, what are you doing, Bryan?" asked Rudi in a relaxed tone.
Bryan looked over with sparkling eyes. "This is the app you and Elsa made, right? I got it from Elsa. It's just so awesome! I felt so focused and could remember all the material clearly" he exclaimed.
Rudi raised one eyebrow, looking surprised. "Oh, really? I myself feel like the app didn't have any effect on me."
Bryan patted Rudi's shoulder lightly. "Maybe everyone has a different reaction. To me, this really helps. Thank you, Rudi."
Rudi only smiled a little, but in his heart felt raging. If Bryan felt the positive effects of the app, why did he not feel it himself?
Elsa knocked on Rudi's room door moments later. "I heard from Bryan that our app worked on him. How's yours?" ask her with a hopeful face.
Rudi took a long breath. "No. There's no change."
Elsa looked disappointed but tried to remain optimistic. "Maybe we need to make adjustments. Each brain works in a different way."
Rudi nodded slowly, "Maybe you're right. Or maybe, I'm too dependent on the app and put too high on expectations."
Elsa sat down beside Rudi. "You're one of the smartest people I know. This app is just a tool. Don't forget, the real power is within you."
Rudi looked at Elsa, her eyes glazed over. "Thank you, Elsa. Sometimes I forget how valuable your support and friendship is."
Elsa smiled, "That's what friends do, isn't it? Support each other."
The two companions sat side by side in silence, each immersed in his thoughts. They realize that while technology can help, human power still comes from within itself.
A cool morning Eve hits Elsa's skin as she walks towards the campus cafeteria with a laptop in her hand. From a distance, he saw Rudi was busy reading a thick book under a large tree whose leaves were moving in the wind. The tangled hue on Rudi's face made Elsa able to feel the burden she felt.
Sitting across from Rudi, Elsa opened her laptop. "Rudi, I added some new features to our app. I think it can help you" Elsa said with hope.
Rudi turned his head, the morning sun that pierced through the cracks of the tree leaves created a shadow on his face. "Alright, let's try," he said with a hint of hesitation.
For the next few minutes, the space between them was filled only by the sound of keyboard typing and mouse swipes. Elsa showed how the new features work, including some algorithms she developed to improve the quality of user learning.
After trying it, Rudi let out a long sigh. "I feel the same. Nothing's changed, Elsa."
Elsa looked surprised, "Right? I'm sure these features will help. Even some of our friends feel the difference."
Rudi shook his head, "Maybe the problem isn't with the app, Elsa. Maybe the problem is with me."
Elsa holds Rudi's two hands, "No, Rudi. We just haven't found the solution yet. Everyone has a different way of learning. Maybe we need a more personal approach."
Suddenly, Rudi got an idea. "How about we develop a feature that allows users to customize the way the app works according to their preferences? Maybe not everything that needs an approach like I need."
Elsa noticed, "That's a brilliant idea, Rudi! We can create customization features that allow users to customize based on their needs."
With a new spirit, the two began to collaborate and work. Elsa with her expertise in IT and Rudi with her knowledge of how the human brain works. They are both convinced that by combining their skills, they can create the perfect solution.
The following days were full of trial and error. However, the two kept trying, driven by the belief that they could find the right solution to help Rudi and many others. Although challenges continue to arise, friendship and cooperation between Elsa and Rudi become the main key in dealing with them.
