Kirana woke up with an unusually tired body. Satisfied spilling all the sluggishness in his chest all night, he felt better. He still wanted to enjoy the solitude in bed, but the urge from the stomach that asked to be removed immediately, made him rush to run to the bathroom.
After spewing out the entrails and washing her mouth, Kirana stared at her reflection in the mirror of the sink. When his heart was inflamed, God gave him an extraordinary gift. Actually on the anniversary night the other day, Kirana wanted to surprise her husband. However, he himself is slapped with reality because he knows Aji's affair.
Kirana closed her eyes for a moment while adjusting her breath that felt tight. She looked down deeply and a drop of her tears rolled down her cheeks. Then, immediately wipe away those tears and look back at the mirror. His hands outstretched rubbing the stomach, then a thin smile he singly.
“Mama don't know what to do now, Darling.”
Not wanting to be too late in grief, Kirana looked up. Trying to stem the tears that are about to be shed. Then, take a deep breath and exhale slowly before passing towards the bathtub to ignite the water.
“Maybe a warm bath can relax me a little.”
Kirana enjoys a soaking session up to thirty minutes later. Afterwards, he rinsed the body and immediately exited the bathroom. Last night ignoring her phone, Kirana opened the screen and read one by one the incoming messages. Of the many messages that exist, only messages from Aji that he has not read.
Kirana throws the phone to the sofa and goes to the closet to pick up a shirt. Then, go back to the couch to pick up the phone. That's when his phone rings. Reading Aji's name plastered on the screen, she just smiled faintly. Kirana set her breath for a moment before answering the call.
“Iya, Mas.”
“Where are you, honey? Last night not coming home, Mas so worried.”
Kirana grinned while shaking her head at Aji's words from the other end of the phone. Then, rotate the lazy eyeball before reopening the word.
“I nginep at Amelia's house, Mas. The boss at home is always lonely. You are too busy working until you come home late every night, even holidays you keep working.”
“Sorry, The. Not that Mas mean, but the work in the office is much more. Last night Mas bela-belain came home quickly in fact, because you want to celebrate our anniversary.”
“Sorry, yes, Mas. Replace me who forgot, because it doesn't matter too, right, dirayain.”
“Yang, Mas ask ma—“
“Udah first, yes, Mas. Amel ngajakin is leaving for the clinic now. Fear of getting stuck.”
Kirana instantly turned off the call without waiting for a response from her husband. He immediately put the phone in his bag and stepped out of his condo. A flimsy smile she put on her lips that had been polished with a nude-colored lipstick.
Kirana felt refreshed after being alone all night. The condo that Kirana bought a month ago was not known to Aji. The plan the woman wanted to tell during the anniversary, but failed. And it's better if Aji doesn't know it until anytime.
In the elevator leading to the first floor, Kirana smiled faintly as she stared at the wedding ring that had been adorning her ring finger for five years.
“You want to play around with me, Mom? Don't blame me if I just follow the flow you made.”
Kirana stepped out when the elevator door opened. He headed to the lobby and started ordering taxis online because the car had been delivered to the clinic after passing out yesterday. After the reserved vehicle came, Kirana immediately boarded. During the trip, he simply shut up and stared out the window.
Arriving at the clinic, Kirana stepped in while putting on a mask of happiness called a smile to her employees. Afterwards, he immediately entered his room and plunked down the body on the oversized chair. Not long after, the sound of knocking made Kirana turn her head. A smile returned to Kirana when she saw Amelia enter and sit in front of her.
Kirana shakes. “For me why, Mel?”
“Gue feels something is happening the same lo. From yesterday I kept thinking. Where chat same phone I do not you lift.”
Kirana chuckled before getting up from her seat and walking towards the window. He was unmoved at the side of the window while staring at the garden that lay before him. Then, turned around and looked at Amelia.
“Sorry, Mel. I overslept last night, tired of life, Neng.”
“Totally?”
“Yes, do you think what? Udah, ah, do not negative thinking mulu same me. Beidewe, have breakfast, Mel?”
“Not yet. I was waiting for you to eat together. I cooked the fried rice earlier, eat first, yuk!”
Kirana nodded before tailing Amelia towards the pantry. She continued to review her smile and was grateful for having a friend like Amelia who was always considerate and affectionate towards her selflessly.
After thanking her for the food given by her best friend, Kirana put rice into her mouth. He enjoyed every mouthful of rice that went into the stomach to the toilet. However, not long after, he rushed up and ran to the bathroom. Worried about her friend's situation, Amelia followed and knocked at the gate.
“Kirana, how come?”
Five minutes later, the bathroom door opened. Seeing the friend's pale face with tears seeping, Amelia knew something was wrong. He hurried to hold Kirana in his arms. Then, broke the cry that had been held back since.
“What really happened, Kirana?”
Kirana broke into a hug and shook her head weakly. Then, sit back in the pantry while shrinking her tears. Meanwhile, Amelia rushed to make warm tea and thrust it to her friend.
“Lo if there is a problem, tell me, Kirana. Do not lo pendam alone, not good.”
Kirana took a sip of the warm tea in her hand before looking at Amelia. He shook his head weakly and smiled faintly.
“Gue ain't nothing, Mel. Just not feeling well, kok.”
“Totally?”
“Hem.”
Kirana and Amelia ended their conversation in the pantry. Then walk into each room. However, they stopped stepping when one of the clinic employees called.
“There are new customers who want to consult, Bu.”
Kirana nodded at a glance before passing to meet the customer in question. He looked at the woman who was standing on his back. Then, flinch as the woman turns around and smiles at him while extending a hand.
