The Bride Pay
Meet Melanie

This is the seventh day Alex was in a remote village in the far reaches of the area, Hayley and Aaron asked him many times to go home and find another way out while negotiating at home, but Alex refused.

Somehow he still believes that Melanie is not far from this place. Alex did not want to bother Aaron too much, Hayley was pregnant and almost gave birth, Alex could not bear to put his problems on them. After all, this was his fault, if only he had opened his heart and been self-conscious from the start, perhaps this terrible thing would not have happened.

As usual, Alex parked his car in front of the house of one of the residents who kindly accepted him to stay for a while. Alex gives him enough money to let him stay until he finds Melanie.

As he walks towards a small food stall at the end of the alley, Alex sees a black sedan driving slowly from behind. Road conditions are less wide and only consist of small rocks, making passing cars must be super careful so as not to nudge other road users.

The car drove slowly past Alex, the car's open glass, revealing a white girl wearing a blue headband. Alex blinked for a moment, staring with an unbecoming feeling.

"Melanie," inner Alex. Despite only catching a glimpse with Melanie's vastly different appearance, Alex clearly recognizes her.

Without thinking, Alex walked after the car, because the car was running very slowly, Alex easily followed him.

After a long walk and an occasional run, Alex finally reached where the car stopped. A middle-aged woman he knew as Gio's mistress, got out of the car first, he opened the door and led a girl walking into a villa in the middle of the tea garden.

Alex can no longer resist his desire to meet, he immediately went to the villa before Madam Gio brought the girl in.

"Melanie," said Alex slowly.

The girl in loose pants and thick jacket turned around, staring in disbelief at the man who was now in front of her.

"A-Alex" said Melanie, dropping a plastic bag filled with medicine and covering her face with both palms. "Why did you come, why did you have to look for me?" asked Melanie, she was crying.

"Because I'm afraid of losing you, Mel. Really, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Alex said. "There's so much we need to talk about, don't shy away from me."

Lady Gio, seeing Alex's earnestness, asks Melanie to calm down and allow Alex to enter their villa.

"Mrs Gio. I'm sorry, because I've been sassy to follow you all the way here" Alex said.

"Call me Aunt. It's okay, Alex. You're great, you trust your heart, we thought you'd give up when we told you Melanie went overseas" Mrs Gio said with a smile.

Lady Gio said goodbye, and asked Alex to take Melanie to her room, Lady Gio tried to make room for them to talk to each other, she was grateful, Alex does not give up on finding Melanie, so, Melanie will be happier to live the rest of her age.

Pleased, Alex agrees to Gio's mistress' request, leading Melanie to a room located separate from the main villa.

"Alex" said Melanie. The girl's face was very pale, there was not a single make-up attached to her face, she who usually looks very charming with a glamorous look, now looks helpless in a thick jacket.

"Why? do you miss me?" ask Alex. "Don't pretend you want to be away from me when you miss me."

Melanie smiled slightly, she rubbed Alex's face with her cold palm. "I don't want you to see me dying, I want you to be happy without thinking about my situation."

Slowly, Alex took Melanie to the bed, and she put the girl to bed slowly.

"Where do you know I'm here?" ask Melanie.

"Like your mama said, I followed my heart," Alex replied, again Melanie smiled, this was the first time Alex had raised feelings and hearts in the midst of their conversation.

"Sorry, I'm worrying you" said Melanie, clasping Alex's hand tightly.

"You don't just worry me, I almost die missing you" Alex replied firmly. "You're bad, Melanie. How can you just walk away, leave all your love for me, make me almost go crazy looking for you."

Again Alex made Melanie moved, the girl got up and sat facing Alex, she cried, then took off the cloth covering her head.

"Look, I'm not Melanie like you saw before, Alex. I even felt very presumptuous to express my feelings through the letter. I know, you asked me many times to keep our hearts in order that we would just be friends in bed, but it was hard, I dropped my heart on you" Melanie explained.

The girl looked completely different, not a single hair grew on her head, the cloth she used as a head covering was useful to cover her baldness.

Alex gave a small smile, he wiped the tears on Melanie's cheek. "You're Melanie who's always with me every joy and sorrow. You're still my Melanie!" alex said, hugging Melanie's thin body, gently rubbing the girl's back.

"I know it may be too late, but I realize something, that I'm afraid of losing you."

"Please promise me you'll have to stay longer to be with me, I know it's late, but I'll try to keep you happy until the end, I want us to enjoy every second of it together. Promise me, Mel."

Melanie let out a long sigh, slightly pushing Alex's body to let go of her embrace.

"Is your vision not normal? look at me, Alex. Look at my situation like this, do you still want to spend your time watching me die to the end?" melanie said, she spoke with tears that continued to flow.

"It doesn't matter how you are and your condition. I just want us to be together" Alex said, grabbing Melanie's hand and holding her.

"Are you sure how you feel, Alex?" ask Melanie. "I don't want to be pitied."

"You doubt?" ask Alex. "You deserve to doubt me, Mel. But, for the rest of my life, I've never felt anything in me that was lost along with someone's passing. You carried my feelings long before I realized it, when you left, I kind of lost my whole life."

"You're wasting your time, Alex. Go, you can find a better woman than me, of course a healthy woman who can accompany you to live longer."

"Melanie Rendra's. I love you, only you. Don't be cruel to the man who dropped his first love on you."
