CHAPTER 26 (TOWERING HIS LIGHT)

The voice of Adhan reverberated beautifully, breaking the silence at dawn. The santriawan and santriwati have been crowded to the mosque that stands majestically inside the Ar-Rahman boarding school.

They rushed to fulfill the call, a call that came every 5 times in one day, even so, still gave rise to their longing, the pious.

“Asslamu’alaikum, aki.. Kaifa haluk?” a crisp and earthy voice was heard from a santri in white clothes and white skullcaps, making his clean face cleaner and brighter.

“Walaikumusalam, Alhamdulilah ana Khair..” answer that is addressed.

“Oya, aki... if not wrong ana can news we have guests yes...”.

“Na’am aki, ustadz Zulfan said he will be made santri also here.. and as usual aki, his fate is more or less the same as ours.”.

“SubhanaAllah... hopefully more and more young people are turning into good brothers through the intermediary of Ustad Zulfan..” comments.

“Aamiin..”.

They accelerated their footsteps to the Ar-Rahman Mosque. The house of Allah.the first time and God willing the last time they gathered together, prostrating themselves to forgive the Most Forgiving.

“God loves you my brother, so He led your footsteps here. You know what not? This is where I learned that science. World science wal the afterlife. Educate us, change our morals, become noble morals and also teach us about maa’rif to God. Calm down my brother, we are here together, me and all the other friends, who are here... it must be the past that keeps us away from Him. But it is thanks to His outpouring of love that we are found here, in this place, with Ustad Zulfan who sincerely and freely guides us. You know not ahi, that until you are here thanks to the love of God for You, He does not want to see you continue to worship so that Allah gives you the favor of religion, a hadith says that ‘“Verily Allah gave the world to those he loved and those he did not love. But, God does not give the favor of religion except to those he loves. Whosoever Allah gives, then verily Allah loves him (CHR. Ahmadis).

Mukhlis opens talk ba’da morning prayers. Actually his name is Muktar, he used to be a high-class thug who likes to make trouble wherever he is. Very scared. Chieftain, head genk and the most respected among other thugs. But, now this big-time thug has changed completely. From the appearance that used to be messy and serem for those who looked at him but, look now his face is really handsome and beautiful plus the golden radiance of his two blue eyeballs, making it cool to look at him. It was a reflection that emanated from his heart.

Andre just kept quiet. His body is stiff. It was hard to move when he wanted to leave this place. His ego was clamoring, protesting against the foolish actions he had just committed. Why did he come to terms with such a situation?

Andre sat surrounded by them, completely unfamiliar new faces. These faces ... Ahh... so much different from the face that he often met in his world.. This is not his world.. this is a strange world... the owner of that earthy and gentle face....

Andre did not know why he could get to this place, the harder he thought the more his headache. Wanting to ask them, but managed, he could only sit down while looking down.

Suddenly Andre remembered his sister, Nisa... Nisa is worried about herself. How long has she been leaving Nisa? He did not know, all he remembered at that time he felt a tremendous headache and at that moment he fainted, when he realized he was already here... in this mosque....

Andre's getting worse. The foreign faces looked at him kindly and lovingly... again curated because the touch is different.not like the rough touch of his friends before.

“Brother, don't feel so awkward.. ahlan wa sahlan.. welcome to this new environment... We are all here together, equally in the process of self-improvement... and both under the guidance of ustad Zulfan... God willing we will help you... Isn't that right friends?” ask one of them. A voice heard from all of them. Andre nodded, silent without commenting.

“We are God's chosen servants.Not many are like us, it is true. But, God with all His love still deigns to show us, until finally we repent, return to Him..try to imagine what would happen if death had approached us but we have not been given the opportunity to repent? Well.. this is something to be grateful for aki...” said the glasses while occasionally fixing the location of his glasses.

“Reuters SAW said: “Allah SWT said: “O son of Adam, as long as you pray and hope to Me then I will forgive your sins and I do not care. O son of Adam, if your sins were as high as the clouds in the sky, then you would ask Me for forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, if you come to Me with errors as big as the earth, then you meet me in a state that does not associate Me with anything, then I will come to you with such forgiveness.” (Hadits Arbain no 42, hadith hasan shahih narrated by At Tirmidzi” said Mukhlis.

Andre thought hard to hear the words that Mukhlis had just said. A moment later his lips moved and finally let out a sound.

“What can I do?” finally came the words from Andre's mouth.

“InshaAllah.. sure is the same Allah” Mukhlis replied with a smile. Andre raised his head, looking at them alternately. Those who number 10, those who have both experienced a gloomy past, those who both get a helping hand of love from Him in the form of guidance and those who have changed? Why didn't he try it? Like 'em?

And, starting that day... Andre really made up his mind. He would not waste this golden opportunity. He has to change. Got to!!

“Take me Ustadz...teach me...introduce me to islam...I want to be a good man....” said Andre was tearful when faced with Ustad Zulfan after finishing prayers.

“Tafadhol... join them. stay here first, follow all the positive activities and activities here..” he replied with a smile.

Andre's thoughts suddenly drifted to his parents, his younger brother and sofwa... so much.... is there still an apology from all of them?
