DIM. 62
“Similarly yes, Mas?”
The middle-aged man who was enjoying white omurice—nasi fried with tomato sauce and given topping omelet creamy typical of Japan—his beloved wife's order nodded. When he realized the answer, he immediately cleared his throat.
“You did not fail to move on ‘kan, Mas?”
“Uhuk, uhuk.”
“Yes my goodness, Mas. Drink first to relieve his throat,” said Dayu while opening a bottle of mineral water for the husband. When the husband's cough had subsided, Dayu immediately said an apology as a form of guilt. “Sorry, Mom. You're choking on me.”
“Hm.”
“But, you didn't really fail to move on, ‘kan?”
Dean Wijaya let out a small sigh while staring at the clingy wife. That being looked at is so wrong. Because stared by Dean Wijaya was able to make the performance of the entire operating system in the body paralyzed.
“You're still not sure if I haven't forgotten Ev?”
“….”
“Then Dian is what?” dean asked with a faint smile.
“Our son.” Dayu answered with his answer.
“Yes already,” said Dean as he looked back at the rest of the omurice on his plate. “Without me explaining once, you should know what you mean in my life after Dian was born among us.”
Mayu was stunned for some time. He then smiled again, staring at the handsome face of the husband from the side. “Then it's okay ‘kan if like Dian we are close to Emily?”
Dean frowned at the wife's question. “It's okay. Indeed why?”
Dean nodded. He then turned his gaze for a moment towards the hospital bed, where the son was still accompanied by a girl named Emily. They seemed to be chatting lightly while enjoying the beautiful bias of the twilight sky that was drawn outside the window. The position of the hospital bed and a set of sofas were available a bit far away, so they could talk freely, without disturbing Dian and Emily's activities.
“Seeing Mr. Edwar's daughter makes me remember the past. Then one question suddenly came up. What if Dian ends up with the girl named Emily, without having to bother fighting over the Duchess.”
“I also thought the same thing, Mas,” said Dayu. “Over time we have too much restrain Dian, and less attention to his growth and development well.”
As a mother, Dayu knew that she had missed many things from the growth of her son. He felt very guilty to Dian who had been through a lot of things alone without much complaining. When returning home, Dian then get an additional burden in the form of a number of demands. For example, the demand to be close to Princess Daneen. Dayu and Dean actually just want to make the relationship both improve again, but the way they use is wrong.
As parents, their goal is one. Make Dian get happiness with other girls, besides being with the Duchess of course. They are just afraid Dian feels triangle love as painful as the story in the past. However, it turns out that Dean and Dayu have been wrong all this time. Dian doesn't want to be close to Princess Daneen anymore, because she has a strong reason. The reason that was unknown to both parents.
“Newly now I can only see our son so loose when with Emily.” Dayu looked at the son, scrutinizing every expression created on the beautiful face. “Only Emily is the only female friend who has had a positive impact on Dian.”
Emily's words just now don't mean the Duchess isn't good for Dian, it's just that the Duchess is already Dan. Whereas when Dan and Dian are in the same scope, there will be clashes between them. While when Dian is with Emily, there will be no clashes that occur. Emily is her neutral child. It is also clean from scandal. Scandal in the sense of the issue is in a close relationship with whom, and so on.
All this time what was heard about Emily Atha Atmarendra was a myriad of brilliant achievements. Making the daughter of one of the ministers who survived in the RI cabinet was quite much discussed, both in the political sphere, education, culture, to family. The charm of an Atmarendra indeed since the first need not be doubted.
“Doctor Hani has provided the latest health records Dian, Mas.”
“Is there a serious problem?”
Dian asked that, because it was based on worry as a father. He knew very well that his son dreamed of becoming a national servant. More precisely become one of the elite members of the Navy TNI, Jalamangkara Detachment forces or DENJAKA.
Dean and Dayu fully supported the ideal. Therefore, even though they are busy, they still remind the Wijaya family doctor to always check up regularly on their son. However, it turns out that there is one condition that they have missed so far. The condition in which their son was actually very tortured due to a trauma, so he had difficulty sleeping many times in a certain period of time.
“To make Dian's condition better, does not mean you have to stop working.”
“Then what, Mas? I'm not as smart as Mbak Ev in managing time to take care of his job, husband, and children.”
Dean took a small breath. He then looked back at his wife with an unreadable look. “We fix them one by one slowly.”
“How?”
“There are many ways we can do. We can start from family talks with Dian.”
Dayu nodded, agreeing to the options offered by the son. Perhaps in this way their relationship with their son would be better. Before it gets worse and more complicated, at least as parents they have the intention to fix everything.
“How about we invite Emily to dinner after Dian leaves the hospital, Mas?”
“Can only,” says Dian. “Ask Emily first, does she have time to stop by home.”
Dayu nodded. Their conversation, which had resumed, was cut off by the sound of footsteps coming closer.
“Om, Aunt, Emily would like permission to go home first.”
Dean and Dayu compactly nodded. Their views then turned to the son who had been behind Emily for some time. Stand while holding the infusion pole.
“Where is Dian going? Going to the toilet?” Dayu. To help the son.
The headband was pointed at Dian, a sign that that was not the reason why he left the hospital bed. “I want to take Emily forward, Mas.”
Dayu looked at the son in disbelief. Likewise with Dean who seemed to look at the son full of investigation. Kok tumben, they thought. Usually in addition to the Duchess, Dian anti once take care of the name of a woman. Now Dian is even bothering herself to drive Emily. Though Dian's condition is currently less fit.
“Then Emily said goodbye, Om, Auntie.”
Evelyn's duplicate was smiling warmly as she greeted Dian's parents one by one. While Dian was silent at the place where he stood, looking to observe.
“Be careful on the road, Emily. If you have free time, do not hesitate to play to Dian's house while you are still in Jakarta.”
Emily nodded with an enthusiastic twinkle on her face. “Bby, Aunt?”
“Of course you can,” said Dayu while glancing at the son who is still good at maintaining expression.
“Then Emily will stop by the house when Dian is awake. Emily is curious about the Wijaya family's private library. He said, there are many books of traditional medicine and ancient historical.” After saying so, the dehumidification from the side took over the attention.
“Come, I'll take you. Mr. Muklis is already waiting in front.”
Emily nodded as she turned her head towards Dean and Dayu. He seemed to feel bad because he had to be delivered all by Dian. Plus Dian is sick.
“It's okay, Em. Dian seems to have been healthy enough to take her female friend home,” seductive Dayu. It was as if knowing what made Emily doubtful. Dean himself smiled slightly from where he was sitting.
“Already, Em. Come home. Later you are stuck in traffic,” said Dian, open the sound. Unasked, her one hand free from the infusion pole grabbed Emily's wrist.
“I'll take Emily first, Mah, Pah. No need to worry if in five minutes I have not returned, because as Mamah said, I am healthy enough to take my girlfriend home.”
