The Emissary Of The Night Shadow

The Emissary Of The Night Shadow
Mysterious Girl.

Moist and stuffy air that simultaneously languishes around him. Stare after eye that implies a threat. As well as helaan demi helaan breath that is getting weaker. Rito cannot imagine what the quarantine period would be like. It had only been a day since the trial ended, but Rito's condition was already impossible to live. At least that's how it looks.

Of the many misadventures and misery that increasingly visited on the stage, only this time he realized that those who had been playing were still a small part of the entire antagonist who would come to him. There's not much he can describe. There's not much he can remember. Only one feeling lingered in his soul. A feeling that urges him to stay alive.

'There's Molly and Kelly. I'll be fine. There are two more days left and I will be reunited with them.'

The contemplation kept him in his grasp and he swiveled over and over again within his remaining sanity point. Who knows what a teenager like him is going through?

"Hey, that's there!" Someone called out his name while floating a glass bottle right down on the shoulder.

"If you don't want to work, there's no food ration for today!" The voice was heard again. The same voice but it sounds different.

"No problem. I've used to not eat for a few days." Unknowingly Rito muttered.

"See this boy! What's he muttering?"

"Looks like we should take him to the playroom."

"What's? That's right!"

Laughter sounds came out of their mouths and floated on the ceiling of the room. Rito knew what they were laughing at. 'A very famous 'playroom' among the temporary slaves. Unlike the name suggests, a playroom is not a place to play a game. Well, that's when viewed from a normal point of view. But it's different from this fucking dedemit point of view. The playroom is where they play.

Dedemite? Whether they were using the human body or the human being himself who turned into them, who knew? In a world that knows no mercy, is the meaning of 'existence' itself so much needed?

Day by day passed. Amidst the immense pressure of refusing but also accepting her presence, she was losing even more. Not what he had, but he lost himself.

"Who among you is Rito?" The shrill voice of one of the guards managed to get the attention of a manual laborer or a temporary slave.

Rito momentarily stopped his activity, turning his head towards the direction the sound was coming from. It was hard for him to raise his skinny hand, but why was he still able to work?

"Ah, it turns out you. It's a weird kid. It's lucky that today is the last day of your punishment. Be glad!"

"I'm free?"

"Hurry out before the leader changes his mind!"

"Good!"

Rito's dry body left the cave passage filled with stalactites with weightless steps. Three days of quarantine at work is finally over. Constantly being forced to work non-stop with unequal wages for food and drink made a change to his body.

Currently, his frail body could have fallen when it got a little touch. A body without energy. It was implied in his mind about how unfortunate those who had been in quarantine for longer than him were. Even some of them have to live those scary days until the next few months. Whether they did make a huge mistake or they were slaves bought on the farm, Rito had no idea of it. But one thing is for sure, one month of being there is tantamount to death.

Although Rito's body is reluctant to move, the fact that he will soon meet with his younger siblings gives him the strength to take steps. At that time he did not realize that he was too late to step.

At the border gate that separated between the upper world and the lower world, a torrential downpour instantly washed over the city. The large grains of rainwater felt like bullets as they fell on his thin skin.

"You came to bring news? Or just want to greet me? I don't like you, because when you come there's usually sadness." Rito muttered amidst the rumbling rain that was becoming more and more.

The gate opened automatically, exposing the expanse of my slum houses. It really looks like two different worlds. Rito stepped into the gate. Heavy air immediately greeted him.

Why is there such a difference so far? Rito murmured in heart.

Rito's feet slowly stepped up to be unable to walk again and fell unconscious after the gate was completely closed. At home it sounded so weak. The dust on the streets slightly shifted from where it came from because of Rito's breath. The view began to blur. Slowly his eyes closed.

Just before his eyelids completely enveloped the pupils, Rito faintly saw a female running towards him from that point Rito did not remember anything after that.

The lights turn dim, occasionally twitching makes the room dark for a fraction of a second. A small room with items strewn about, a teenager lay helplessly on the floor covered in cardboard. His eyes twitched, trying to cultivate it.

"Where am I?"

Rito tried to sit up while holding his head that hurt. His gaze swept over every corner of the room. This place feels foreign to him.

"Are you feeling better?" A girl who was about the age of her was standing at the door.

The girl's incarnation was so perfect that it left Rito stunned for quite some time. The girl carried a small cup of warm tea in her hand, putting the tea on the floor close to where Rito was. While putting the warm tea, the girl gathered while looking at Rito fixedly. Rito who felt uneasy with it instantly turned his face away.

"I found you lying on the border road. Judging from your condition, you must have just come out of the royal quarantine. What did you do in quarantine?" Without introducing herself and without further ado, the girl immediately bluntly spoke to Rito. However, Rito fell silent with the question.

"Well, I won't force you to answer. But at least you should be grateful. "

"Thankful? What should be grateful for such cruel punishment?" Rito grunting. It was obvious that he was very uncomfortable.

"Thank God you're still alive. Many starved to death in that place. There were even some who died from continued pressure and cruel torture. Some even committed suicide because they couldn't stand it, or maybe you'd rather die?" The girl stared straight, slightly showing a smile on her face.

"What kind of empty "mong is that? When one is given life, why expect death?" Rito was silent for a moment.

"Life is a precious thing because everyone has only one chance to live life. Although life is like hating someone's presence and always giving a bitter taste that can not be swallowed, I believe everyone has their own reasons for survival. Whether it was for himself or for the people he wanted to protect." Rito stared in the shade Both of his palms.

"So which one are you?" For a moment, the girl looked at Rito as if she felt a little interested.

"Stop that..."
