The End of Hope

The End of Hope
7 Eps. Mom Is Also a Woman

Naya stepped into the house, saw Sarita sitting on a small sofa in the room that is usually used as a living room and dining room, while examining her cellphone.

Naya approached her mother-in-law, after saying Greetings.

"Wa'alaikumussalam," answered Sarita flatly.

Naya smiles while kissing Sarita's hand, followed by Rudian behind her, who sits next to her mother.

"How are you, ma'am? I'm sorry I have to wait." said Naya, putting food on the table.

"Alright, Alhamdulillah." answered Sarita.

"Tumben mom comes here, usually we come there too" said Naya.

"Nothing, just miss the same grandson," sshut Sarita ketus.

Deg. Naya's heart was beating faster. Such a matter which since the last year has always been mentioned by Sarita before Naya.

'Yes Allah .. would you like to discuss polygamy, and the child again? Yanga is right? Can I run away right now?' Naye.

"Attent, mom. I take the plate first. Did you eat?" tanya Naya passed by taking out some dishes in the kitchen.

"It has. You don't have to cook. I'm not hungry" Sarita said half-screaming.

Rudian sat beside Sarita, the woman turned to him while rubbing her head, like rubbing the head of a small child.

"Mother, Tumben wants to come here, what is the need to come here in the afternoon? Don't talk about polygamy anymore with Naya. I'm lazy to say it" Rudian said.

While Naya was silent behind the doorway between the kitchen and the room, she purposely did so, she wanted to hear what they would discuss if she was not there with them.

"Didn't you dare say that to Naya? If so, let me tell you." Sarita said in a slightly raised voice, as if intentionally provoking a conversation with Naya.

"This polygamy, do your own good. Want it, you marry again with the daughter of a friend of the mother, she is good and beautiful, the mother has met him several times," Sarita said.

Naya heard everything, she was eager to cry right then and there. The tightness had already heavily pressed down on his chest.

'O Allah, does being a Sholehah have to accept this great trial? What if being an angel of heaven did not have to accept and live life with a husband who remarried? Should?' Naye.

While holding back the turmoil in his heart, Naya approached while arranging the food at the table. Naya's facial expression was ordinary, as if she had never heard anything from the two of them.

"Naya didn't cook, ma'am. It was purposely bought for my mother. We talk while we talk, Mom. I bought a complete kwitiau" said Naya.

Sarita just stared at the food on the table with a cold look, she just wanted to talk about her son's polygamy. And no appetite.

"Come, ma'am, please eat" said Naya again to see Sarita who just glanced at him.

"It's delicious, ma'am," said Naya as she offered a plate of food in front of her mother-in-law.

She herself took her portion of the food and bribed the food into her mouth, without looking at her husband, who looked indifferent as well.

Shortly speechless, Rudian joined in enjoying the food on the table, after taking part in his plate.

"You, have you thought about mother's words a month ago?" Sarita. He finally received food from Naya and said while enjoying his meal.

"Related, child. Regarding Rudian, I will match him with another woman. Biiar mom has a grandchild again. Mothers used to have trouble having children. So now I want to have a lot of grandchildren."

'So chances are, the barren descendant is not from me' Naya.

"Mothers. This mother is not a woman either. Why do you say that so? Naya doesn't want to be polygamous, ma'am. Naya will not be strong. Honestly, Naya is not a holy woman who can live like that." Naya began to cry, tears and feelings that she had been feeling now she could no longer bear.

Sarita was silent, as if there was no reaction, and she continued to finish the food on her plate. Then saw Naya crying, rubbing her shoulders.

"Don't cry. Mom is also a woman, I know how you feel. But this is for the good of my son too."

"Naya, you love me, don't you?" tanya Rudian finally opened his mouth to talk after just being silent.

"What does it mean Kanda asked about it. I'm your wife, nda. Which wife does not love suaminy" Naya replied with tears.

"Isn't that reason enough? Would not allowing her husband to remarry be due to the evidence that a wife loves her husband?" Sarita asked trying to find a justification for her wish.

Naya shook her head in disbelief at what her husband said. Very naive, he thought. If the wife's love is misinterpreted like this. Should by reason of love then one may impose his will? Of course not, right?

Naya looked at Rudian fixedly, wiping her tears violently.

"Kanda, youknow? What does our religious book govern polygamy? Kanda must know first his knowledge, what kind of polygamy, verses, new speech rights, and demand the pleasure of a polygamous wife on the basis of love. But if you get married, it doesn't make sense" Naya said.

That is how most women understand about the rights of this one husband. That in justice undergoing polygamy is difficult. Even in the Qur'an, Allah makes the ability and fairness the main condition in doing so. While if not able but still do it then including a tyranny.

The verse explains, if not able then ordered to marry one woman only. This shows that to be fair is difficult, only certain people can do well, without damaging the image of religious teachings on this one. The one who is able to do justice to his wife is the one who is near perfect in his obedience.

Rudian looked at Naya angrily. He feels offended. Her right as a husband is tarnished. Even his pride was like in shreds.

"You dare talk about, right? Not all your rights as an iatri have also been fulfilled. You should be grateful!" rudian said in a high tone.

'Are all my rights as your wife fulfilled? Not yet!'

"Already, nda! Don't talk about this anymore. Shame to hear neighbors. Our house is just wall-nosed." Naya does not want to fight, she tries to quell Rudian's anger.

"Naya, you should be quiet. Let your husband talk!" sahut Sarita's.

"Mother ... Kanda's... Our situation has not been called able to be polygamous. This house is not yet closed. Our salary is still lacking, even I have to save a lot. I can have two wives and have children. I've talked like this a lot"

"Eat him, look for other women who work and have a lot of money" Sarita said. The woman smiled faintly.

"Mothers.. It was his name utilizing the treasures of others. We are poor to do that. It's a shame, once" said Naya, leaving the mother and daughter behind.

"Hey. Where you going. I'm not done talking. Nay!" Sarita screams for Naya.

"No need, ma'am. My decision remains the same, I will not want my husband to marry again. I don't want Kanda's affection and love to be shared!"

Naya stepped into her room and cried.

'Should I just end this marriage?' Naya in her tears.
