Chapter 35

Nanda came out of the bathroom. The woman was wearing a bathrobe that was available in the hotel room. He walked up to Andi while rubbing his wet hair with a towel.

"Mas," called.

Andi did not respond. The man looked ahead, his gaze blank. Nanda sensed that the man was daydreaming. Losing a child is like losing half of the world. Andi was feeling that way making him feel unbalanced.

Nanda put a towel on the nightstand. He climbed onto the bed, sat on Andi's lap, making the man gasp in shock and blink.

"Nda," he said.

"Hm." Nanda wrapped her hands around Andi's neck. The woman brought her face closer, kissed the man's thin lips, then hugged him tightly. "You're strong, Mum. You have to be strong" he said, rubbing Andi's back.

"Nda," called Andi while looking up.

Nanda looked towards the nightstand. One of the phones on the nightstand was vibrating indicating someone was calling.

"Stay," said Nanda. He pulled that hand for Andi's head pad, then sat down. Leaning his body towards the nightstand, picked up his vibrating phone. "Mas Rudi," he said while staring at Andi who was still in a slanted sleeping position.

Nanda got a call right away.

"I-i ...." The woman pulled Andi's hand and looked at the man's watch. "I went out to buy porridge" he said. Rudi questioned his existence. Because it is impossible to say accompanying someone who is sad at the hotel, he told a lie and was grateful that his lie was supported because it was morning.
