The Heart You Injured

The Heart You Injured
Chapter 22. Forgive

"Mom wants to apologize to you!"

A soft voice that sounded from behind his back, made Dinda who was busy sauteing vegetable kale slightly stunned. At first glance, he turned his back and saw his mother-in-law sitting on one of the plastic chairs in this kitchen area.

Using a spoon, Dinda tasted the taste of the dishes she cooked this morning. After everything fit and mature, he turned off the stove and then approached the existence of the mother-in-law. He also removed the remaining plastic chair.

Dinda smiled meaningfully. After yesterday his heart had felt so painful because of the words of the mother-in-law who was like a dagger, now everything changed. His heart seemed to be dripped with morning dew that made the pain he felt perish. The inner burden due to the attitude of the in-laws who previously felt so burdensome, is now lost like cotton blown by the wind. Light, no burden at all.

"I've forgiven Mom. As long as you don't ever say such words again. Because really ma'am, there's no goddamn human. Everything that happens to us has actually been outlined by the Almighty."

Sonya nodded slowly. With a look full of regret and a look of eyes that implied how sincerely apologizing, he shifted his chair to draped towards Dinda. Without further ado, he grabbed the son-in-law's palm and held it tightly.

"Yes Din, I realized that what I said was indeed very outrageous. Yesterday, maybe the heart is also the feeling of Mother being upset because the disaster we experienced came in many years. Therefore, you cannot control your emotions. Again I'm sorry, Din."

Dinda nodded slowly. There was no reason for him not to forgive his mother-in-law. Shouldn't humans forgive each other? And that is what has been instilled by his late parents. Pardon. Our hearts will be much lighter.

"Yes Mom, I've forgiven you. We started all over from the beginning. It was at this stage that my marriage to Mas Bayu was being tested. And I will try to keep accompanying the Bayu mas whatever the circumstances. Like the promise I once said to the Bayu mas when in front of the penghulu and witnesses."

Without a second thought, Sonya hugged Dinda's body. He hugged his daughter-in-law's body tightly and occasionally rubbed the back of the son-in-law.

"Thank you very much Din. Turns out Bayu didn't choose you wrong to make you a wife. Your heart is as big as the ocean and you are one of those faithful women who never left your husband in this kind of slump."

In Sonya's arms, Dinda nodded slowly. "I can face all the tests that befall my household as long as Bayu mas also strong to face him Mom. We had to join hands and our footsteps had to stay in the same direction, so we didn't get lost."

"Yes Din ... I understand that. I believe that Bayu will also be able to be more mature in the face of this all."

Eidmmm...

The sound of someone thumping started to fill the kitchen. It was that voice that made Dinda and Sonya a little surprised.

"What are you and Dinda doing? Why are you hugging in the kitchen like this?"

A rare sight was clearly plastered before Bayu's eyes. Seeing his wife and mother hugging each other tightly like this seemed so foreign in his sense of sight. All ages, precisely during his marriage to Dinda, only this time saw his mother and wife so familiar like this. It was as if everything was fine and no misunderstandings had occurred before.

Dinda smiled at the sweetest smile she had. "There's nothing, Mom and I are just chatting."

"That's Bay, and I also apologize to Dinda for yesterday's incident. I feel very guilty to this daughter-in-law of Mother," continued the middle-aged woman who had seen fine lines on her face.

"Thank God, if Mom and Dinda have made up for each other. I am very relieved to hear it," said Bayu as he glanced at the pan that was still hanging on the stove. "Din, is the breakfast ready? I want breakfast and after that I'll start tugging."

"Of course, breakfast is ready. Mas Bayu and I wait in the living room first huh. Let me get ready. We're having breakfast together."

Dinda moved from her sitting position to then swing her legs towards the stove. He moved the kale stir-fry into a bowl and he took it to the living room. Sonya and Bayu sat on a carpet in the living room to wait for Dinda to prepare their breakfast.

"Well ... it's all ready, let's eat!" invite Dinda with a look of face filled with twinkles of happiness.

"Have you started ngojek Mas?" dinda asked after putting down her food and sipped a glass of water in front of her.

Bayu nodded slowly. "Betul Din, I don't know why the account that I submitted was quickly approved when it was usually long. Up to two weeks can be submitted account get a reply. While mine only lapse a few hours. And so, I'm starting today."

Dinda smiled happily. Apparently Allah makes it easy for her husband to start reorganizing life. "Alhamdulillah .. It is all the blessings of Allah, Mas. We should be grateful."

"Yes, it's definitely Din." Bayu rubbed his mouth with a tissue. He took a cigarette to be his last ritual after eating. He lit the cigarette, he smoked it and he exhaled. "Oh yes, what about my proposal yesterday Din?"

Forehead Dinda slightly wrinkled. "Extension? What's Mas' proposal?"

"You're at work so our lives can be back to what they were, Din. Life is full of adequacy and not the slightest feeling of lack. How's it?" Bayu asked directly at his main point.

"Working?" For a moment, Dinda paused her words. His eyes were a little empty and glared like he was thinking about something. "But wouldn't I be better off at home, Mas? If I go to work, then who will take care of your needs and all the work in this house?"

"You take it easy, Din, let homework be the responsibility of Mother," said Sonya, dampening the anxiety that Dinda felt.

"But what do I do, ma'am? I'm just a high school graduate. And now that much is needed for sure who already has a bachelor's degree," said Dinda as if pessimistic if there is a job vacancy for high school graduates.

Sonya seemed to be thinking about something. A moment later, his two eyes were perfectly rounded with their mouths hanging.

"How about if you work in Jakarta only Din, look for vacancies as a housekeeper? I'm sure your salary there will be great. Or, you become a TKW in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea or where? I'm sure you'll get a great salary for Din."

Dinda. "But Ma'am?"

"Mom think it's good also if you come to work, Din. Mumpung you and Bayu do not have children so you still have the opportunity to work together, collect rupiah coffers. Definitely to improve your lives."

Silent, Dinda seemed to dissolve in her own mind. Indeed, what is said by the in-laws is true, As long as there is still no presence of the baby, he can use the time to work, help the husband collect sustenance. But does he have to become a TKW who works abroad? What does it mean that she has to be separated from her husband?

"Din, how? You agree, don't you?"

Bayu who patted Dinda's shoulder slightly gasped. He blinked his eyes to wake up from his daydream. "Eh, what is Mas? You said what?"

"Hows it? You want to come to work?"

Dinda stared at the bead in the eyes of her husband and in-laws in turn. The woman also let out a slightly rough breath. "I want to work Mas, but the furthest is just out of town. If I become TKW, I don't want to."

Bayu's smile rises on his thin lips with a dark color because he smokes too much of it. "Well, I won't force you to be TKW. You can just go to work, I'm so happy. Thank you very much Din."

Dinda nodded her head slowly. "Sama-sama Mas, I will help you to find sustenance."
