The Heart You Injured

The Heart You Injured
Chapter 35. Misconceived

Surti awoke from a dream that enveloped when his throat felt so dry. He opened his eyes, trying to reach his consciousness. The woman shifted her body slightly to take a sitting position on the edge of the bed. His forehead creased when he realized that Dinda was not in this room.

"Where is Dinda? Why did it suddenly disappear?"

Surti got up from his sitting position, stepped into the kitchen looking for drinking water to just quench his thirst. The eyelids that still felt so heavy suddenly opened wide when from where he stood looking at the figure of a male shadow whose body was wrapped in a hoodie dongker color. The man was standing right at the glass door that became the bulkhead between the balcony and the inner room.

"Who is this man and what will he do? Why did he bring a spatula? Is it possible that he's den Erlan? But it seems impossible. Den Erlan never wears a hoodie when he comes home from work. Aahhhh .. She's using her hoodie skull. So I don't know who that is?"

Both of Surti's eyes widened when he saw the man set foot to go to the balcony and began swinging the spatula he was holding.

"Well, Dinda?!"

Surti quickly grabbed the mosquito-killing racket on the sofa. As if racing against time, the middle-aged woman moved quickly to be able to hit the man she thought would hurt Dinda. And...

One....

Two .....

Tigaaa.....

"Basic thief. Feel this!!"

Plaque... Plaque... Plaque...

"Aaaahhhhhhh .. lilhtt!!!!"

Dinda's body tiptoed as she heard the screeching sound from behind her back. He turned around and saw the figure of a man in a squatting position and drowned his head between the knees.

"Basic thief. Don't think I'm afraid. Let's show your face! I'll drag you to the police station for having evil intentions in this house!"

As if not feeling scared at all, Surti shouted out loudly at the man he considered a thief. In fact, he still hit the man's head with the mosquito racket he was carrying.

"Adduduuhh .. Mbok's pain. Why did Mbok Surti hit me?!"

Surti was stunned when he heard such a familiar voice in the ears. His lips were wide open when he realized one thing. He crouched down to look directly at this man's face.

"Yes Allah .. This is Erlan? Astaghfirullah, sorry Den, Simbok don't know!"

"Aaahhhhh .. Mbok's pain, my back and my head!"

"Ohh, sorry Den." Surti tries to straighten Erlan's body. But before he looked up his head, looking at Dinda who seemed not to understand much about what happened. "Din, let's help Simbok get Erlan. He's your employer!"

Realizing that the man Surti had beaten was the master, Dinda helped the middle-aged woman to get Erlan. The two women of different generations were shoulder to shoulder with each other to sit Erlan on the sofa.

"Oh Allah Den, Be sure to apologize. Simbok doesn't know that this is den Erlan. It's not usual for Erlan to wear a hoodie like this. Look for the thief who wants to hurt Dinda!" surti said with a pias face filled with guilt.

"I'm just going to hit an intruder, Mbok. There's a foreign woman in my apartment."

Surti surprised. "Inbreathers? You mean this girl Erlan?"

Erlan nodded slowly. "Yes, he's an intruder, right?"

"Geez Den, this is Dinda. Household assistant who will replace Simbok."

Erlan's forehead frowned while staring at the face of Surti's mbok substitute. "So you're the new housekeeper?"

"Yes, sir, I'm Dinda. Sorry if it's making an uncomfortable atmosphere and commotion."

Erlan let out a rough breath. Hurry up, the man got up from his sitting position. "You should have told me first when you got here. Can I just WA first? So I know that there are new residents in this apartment. In that case, I'm the one who got hit, right?"

Without saying much more Erlan passed away leaving Dinda and Surti. He continued to hold his head which was still throbbing pain after being hit by Surti. Not long after, the man disappeared behind the door of the room.

Surti and Dinda were still in gawking mode looking at Erlan's attitude. Moreover, Dinda who tried hard to understand the meaning of the young master's words.

"Md-...?"

"Yes Din?"

"How can I contact young master Erlan if the phone number I know belongs only to Mbok Surti?"

Surti turned towards Dinda while chuckling softly. "Entah Din, Simbok also do not understand how. But as Simbok recalled, Simbok had sent a message to den Erlan to tell him that you have arrived in Jakarta."

Forehead Dinda crinkled. "Is that really like that, Mommy? But, why did Mr Erlan not know?"

Surti sniffed his shoulders. "Entah Din, Simbok also do not understand. Already, you don't need to think about it. We go back to the yuk's room. Rest."

Considering it was too late at night, Surti invited Dinda to rest. He thought, from tomorrow the work will be a little harder because it has to train Dinda as a new domestic assistant.

"But what about Den Erlan Mbok? I'm afraid that Den Erlan will get angry just because I made a mistake."

Dinda squeaked her temple. Not yet started to work there was already one mistake he made. Suddenly his memory was fixed on the story of Mr. Dirman about one of the employees who was hung on a tree after being caught with corruption. That's what makes Dinda shudder even more.

Surti patted Dinda's shoulder. Even he was laughing to reduce the anxiety felt by Dinda. "It's Din, you don't need to think. Let's just say den Erlan is a PMS so a little sensitive. Already, let's go back to sleep. Remember, tomorrow you have to start working!"

In the end, the two women set foot to go back into the room. While in one of the rooms in this apartment, there appears a man who is still busy fighting with his head that feels pain. The man was relentlessly rubbing his head.

"It turns out that woman will replace Mbok Surti. Why do they look so young? Can I hire him as a house assistant? Do you mind if Mr Arist Merdeka Sirait came here to think I was exploiting a minor?"

After being hit with a mosquito-killing racket by Surti, Erlan's brain is even more absurd. Even until the head of the Child Protection Komnas he dragged into his mind. Which is certain to have nothing to do with it at all.

"Haduuhhh .. it looks like my brain I started to error after being hit by mbok Surti. Why am I thinking too much about that woman anyway? The important thing is that he can work well and right, right?"

Feeling his tired body and head so dizzy, Erlan laid his body on the bed. Without changing clothes, without washing hands, washing feet, washing face first, the man began to knit dreams.
