Everyone gathered at the dinner table to celebrate Mr. Hovers' sixty-second birthday. Not just the small Hovers family, but the entire extended family including Xavier's parents and Maureen's parents.
Mr. Hovers rarely holds dinner events just to celebrate his age. However, this year he followed his wife's willingness to hold a super-luxury dinner at the Wilson residence. Actually, the event was to be held at his residence. However, considering Veila was pregnant, they all agreed to have dinner at Wilson's house alone.
There are many fine foods on the long dining table. Starting from seafood to sweet dessert lines have been arranged neatly. Wilson smiled as he looked at his mother, who had a sweet chat with Veila, watching the intake the wife would receive tonight.
However, Wilson was completely unaware of the change in the face of his own mother-in-law. Maureen was already anxious with her mother's mouth looking ready to make a painful sentence. About the mother who had said about the divorce in front of Miss Hovers, the three of them, agreed not to say it to Wilson.
Oh, Xavier? The man could not join because he had returned to London two weeks ago. His cousin spent two months of his vacation here laughing, saying that if the next holiday he would come back to visit and play with his new nephew.
The laughter of everyone sitting in the living room came to a halt as Mrs Cruz let out her voice. "Look no one noticed Maureen here. It's all about Wilson's second wife."
The woman quipped while justifying her hair layout. While Maureen's eyes had widened, a small mutter so that her mother stopped heating things up.
Mrs Hovers cleared her throat. "Nobody ignored Maureen. Your son used to be quiet, sometimes laughing too. I'm watching him."
Mrs Cruz clucked, throwing her gaze in the other direction while side-by-side and leaning on the back of the chair.
"What do you expect from a baby conceived by a prostitute like her? Just so you know, he's not from a rich family in Spain! He's just a bunch of rats Wilson picked up from the nightclub! Stupid, you are fooled by her innocent face," said Mrs Cruz, her patience is exhausted, unable to bear to call Veila who for her is the child's domestic destroyer. Of course everyone was surprised, turning to look at Wilson and Veila alternately full of question marks.
"If you don't like her, just shut up, dear Mrs Cruz, you're lowering her pride. Make up the story if Veila is a nightclub lady!" mrs Hovers snapped, she also lost her patience.
Mrs Cruz shook her head, responding to the folly of one of the Hovers family who managed to be deceived by the drama designed by Wilson and Veila. He began to explain everything, passing it on without less than Maureen told him a few months ago.
Starting from how Wilson brought Veila, lies about life, to the parents who attended the wedding ceremony in the church. Maureen did not say the contract issue, knowing if things would get more complicated because of that. Everyone fell silent, looked at Wilson and demanded an explanation through his eyes.
Wilson got up from the chair, making a creaking noise that overcame the anger of Cruz's mistress, her own father-in-law. While Veila was only able to duck after all her lies were exposed by Maureen's mother. The woman did not dare to look at the faces of the two Wilson parents, she was very afraid.
Wilson clasped Veila's right hand, squeezing it gently, giving her calmness. He deliberately stood back to Veila so that the view of the mother-in-law who looked at Veila's hatred was blocked.
"Explain to the real mommy, Wilson! Who is Veila really? What did Mrs Cruz say is true? Don't play with your parents!" snapped madam Hovers, making Veila increasingly squeeze Wilson's hand strong. Wilson turned around, turned to Veila for a moment, whispering if there was nothing to worry about.
"I'll explain everything to Mommy, but let Veila go into the room first" she asked and was taken in by Mrs Hovers.
After that, Wilson immediately brought Veila into his room which was on the lower floor— difficult for pregnant women when climbing and down the stairs. She sat Veila on the bed, pressed her shoulder and looked at Veila's tear-filled face.
"Don't cry, Veila. There's nothing you need to worry about, I'll explain it to mommy. You have to believe that everything will be fine" Wilson said, bringing Veila into his warm embrace.
Meanwhile, Veila began to wrap her hands around Wilson's waist while burrowing her face into the husband's stomach. She was afraid that Mrs Hovers would dislike her and begin to hate her.
"Don't think about anything, let alone stress you out. You need to calm down, I'll promise if things will go well" he continued, and in silence Veila nodded weakly.
Slowly, Wilson began to let go of her embrace, turning to kiss Veila's stomach, stroking her and saying, "Get your Mama for a few minutes huh, baby. Papa will be back soon." And after that he began to look at Veila, rubbed his wife's face, and gave a brief pangutan on Veila's charming ranum.
"Trust me, everything will be fine."
