Chapter 39: Hard work

Arsenio sighed. He was so sorry for everything he did. He regretted his stupidity that ended up dragging him into trouble.

Arsenio lowered her head. He did not dare look his wife in the eyes. Then he said,

"I borrowed money from the bank that was just a sum of money to replace what I borrowed from our children's savings with our home certificate guarantee. But, it seems like the person who helped with the disbursement process was acting deceitfully towards me. Somehow the way he did it, it turned out that the amount written on my loan into tenfold, while the money I got was only the amount I wanted. And all the money I've been paying for all this time is not being paid for by him."

Laura was surprised to hold her husband's shoulders and said,

"W-what?! Why are you so stupid, Mom? Aren't you the one who is always careful and always vigilant?!"

Arsenio kept her head down. He did not dare to look his wife in the eyes because what his wife said was true.

"sorry. I was wrong. I was careless back then," Arsenio said languidly and still lowered her head.

Laura sighed while closing her eyes. Now he felt like he was hit with a big rock. It felt like all his energy had been used up. 

"Where will we find that big money? While I also still have to pay all my mother's debts," said Laura who sounded limp without expression.

Arsenio clasped Laura's hand and looked at her and said,

"You take it easy, I'll sort out the mess I've made. Don't think of anything and keep me by my side."

Laura breathed back. She grinned as if humbling her husband. And he said, too,

"Quiet down? How can I calm down if our house will be the stakes. Besides, where are you going to borrow that much money?" 

"I'll try to pay for it. I will work very hard to pay for everything. Trust me," said Arsenio with a compassionate look at his wife.

Arsenio's grip was so strong that Laura could not take her hand out of her husband's.

Suddenly the panel was again seen by Laura right in front of her face, so that without her approaching it could be clearly seen the writing there.

'Help the husband to pay his debt'

Laura breathed back. It feels like his chest is very heavy and tight to face all the realities that come in a row in his life.

Damn again, he could not avoid it. He could only step down and deal with everything in his own way. Fighting for his life.

"I think we're going to have economic difficulties. I'm going to work. There are many dependents that I have to pay for," Laura said with a sigh that sounded very heavy.

"But honey, are you going to go back to work on that private television? I guess don't go back there, 'cause they're definitely–"

"No. I'm not going back to that place. I will try to find a job elsewhere that values my energy and hard work" Laura said, turning her eyes to the beach in front of her.

Arsenio hugged Laura's body with a grateful feeling as she said,

"Thank you, dear. Thank you for fighting with me. Thank you for not leaving me. Thank you for forgiving me."

Laura was silent. He did not answer or nodded his head. He's tired already. And no matter what happens in the future, he doesn't know. He just lives what is in his path.

With her passion to be able to pay the debts of her mother and her husband, Laura is not discouraged to find a job.

He contacted many of his friends to inquire about the job vacancy, unfortunately not a single friend could recommend him. 

Not broken, Laura is still trying to find a job. He was looking for information about the job vacancies that could be worked on by him.

He searches for it from newspapers, social media, to the internet. His efforts are so persistent and he is the type of person who does not give up easily.

Of the many job openings, there are only a few that meet the criteria. Laura immediately sent many job applications to all job vacancies that met her criteria.

Today Laura spends her job searching through print and social media. Just doing that alone had drained his energy and mind. What else with his body condition that is slightly not fit, makes him want to rest immediately.

Arsenio is like that too. He doesn't want to make any more mistakes. He tried to keep his wife from getting angry again and not leave her because of her stupidity and mistakes. Now he is trying hard to pay off all his debts immediately.

Tonight Arsenio decided to go overtime so that her work would be done quickly. She tells Laura not to wait for dinner and tells her to go to bed first.

Without thinking about anything else, Laura obeyed her husband's words. She ate dinner first without waiting for her husband and she went to bed first because she felt less fit.

There was no suspicion of Laura. He was tired of everything. And he doesn't want to think about anything else. He just wanted to focus on his current goal. Looking for money to pay the debts of her mother and her husband.

Arsenio actually came home late at night. He immediately ate the food that his wife had prepared. And he also immediately cleansed his body to remove sweat and fatigue that felt in his body.

He took his wife's body and carried it in his arms. Comfortable. Even very comfortable. Hugging the wife he loved made Arsenio a little calm at the moment. 

The mind full of debts was a little set aside tonight by hugging his wife's body.

Morning is approaching. Their activities remain the same. Even now they are busier to make money to pay Arsenio's debts. They both worked hard so that the house they had occupied for five years was not confiscated by the bank.

This morning Laura was looking for a job outside the home. He jumped straight in to find a job out there.

He went from one office to another. Various reasons for the rejection have been accepted. He even heard the gossip of someone who sounded vague in his ear that he was an artist who was fired for having a scandal with his producer.

However, all of that did not make Laura despair. He could only encourage himself to get through all of this patiently and continue to fight in order to conquer the situation. 

Inside the toilet of one of the companies she came to, Laura stood in front of the mirror and smiled as she clenched her hands in front of her chest and said,

"Come on Laura, spirit! Efforts will not betray results!"

Laura encouraged herself so that she would not despair quickly. Because the real Laura is a tough woman who always fights to get her wish.

Suddenly Laura was startled by the sound of a message notification from her phone. Soon he took the phone from his bag.

I read the message at that place. His eyes widened as he read the message, saying,

"What does this mean?"
