The Last Human Returns.
Chapter 1 - Feyn Austin.

"There are only two months left before the beginning of the catastrophe, yes." Ethan, who has grown into a man, looks up at the blue sky on the horizon from the balcony of his room.

Five years have passed since the regression. His mind fully found a way to reduce the destruction of the Earth like in his previous life.

One of the ways he chose is, Virtual Reality. He created a machine that allowed one to sense their five senses while in a pseudo-reality. With the machine as an intermediary, he created the RPG genre game, [Eden].

[Eden] is a VRMMORPG with the theme of Player climbing the Tower of Desire. The basic concept of the game is based on the real Tower of Wish when the apocalypse comes.

"... Although, I'm not sure that's enough myself."

Think of the nightmare that began with the appearance of thousands of red holes around the World when the Dimensional Barrier of Earth was destroyed by the shock in the Greatest Chaos. 2 Months later, an Age that transcends the horrors of the Dark Ages or the Black Death plague, occurs when thousands, hundreds of thousands, and thousands, or maybe millions of Monsters invaded Earth through a crack that humans would later call the Hell Gate.

At that time, humans were not without power. A System that calls itself [Akashic Records] gives superhuman abilities to each individual. In those days, humans were able to lift cars with one hand, create fire out of nothing, or move quickly like the wind.

Unfortunately, the emergence of superhumans is also the reason for the extinction of mankind. The governments of each State are too focused on gathering superhuman powers and turning their eyes away from the threat of Hell Gate, which is fatal to the terrible defeat of every Country in the World.

Ethan doesn't hate the government. He can understand their thinking. Even so, it does not mean he will let the Government do the same thing now. It was enough for him to once see the Earth become a sea of fire and blood. The view is not something fun.

Knock Knocks.

A knock on the door awakens Ethan from a past tour, making him realize.

"Sister, are you asleep? It's time for dinner." A beautiful voice called out to him from the other side of the door, reminiscent of dinner.

Ethan looks up at the wall clock of his room and realizes he's too late for dinner. So, he got up from the balcony to open the door.

As soon as he opens the door, Ethan is greeted with a beautiful view. In front of her room stood a girl with long black hair tied in two pigtails. The wide size of her eyes could not hide the beauty of a glowing black iris like pure obsidian. Like a two-dimensional character, the girl is the most beautiful art in Ethan's eyes.

The girl, Erica Austin, found her eyes narrowed as her lips curled up for a moment after seeing the older sister. "It's not usually that you're late, brother."

"I had a few thoughts." Ethan makes excuses. He then halted the conversation before Erica asked again. "... I think we should get off soon. Nina will probably sulk and be suspicious if we go down even longer."

Erica said nothing and just nodded her head slowly.

"Sister, you're so slow~."

As expected. As soon as he reached the kitchen, a girl who looked like a pin was halved with Erica, welcoming him with bulging cheeks.

Ethan smiled wryly at the playful protest and apologized obediently. "I wasn't aware of that time. So, I'm sorry."

So, Ethan goes to the kitchen and prepares to cook dinner. Because of living alone for a long time, Ethan expertly makes simple dishes with potluck ingredients.

"I'll help, Brother." Erica followed him into the Kitchen to offer help.

Ethan just smiled a little and patted Erica's head gently. "Thank you."

Erica lowered her head and found her cheeks turning into a blush. The view is full of pink. If someone doesn't know they're not siblings, Ethan and Erica will be accused of an illicit relationship.

Nina who was watching from the dining table looked envious of the proximity of Ethan and Erica. With pointy lips she babbles. "Don't flirt in front of a single, Foolish Couple who doesn't know the place."

Erica was completely unaware of the insults from her younger sister. He is actually getting a lot more similar to a tomato in his hand.

"That's very disrespectful, Brother. Also, the reason why I haven't had a partner is because of Big Brother! Why is Brother so perfect!? I find it hard to fall in love because before I realize it, my standards rise to become like Big Brother!" Nina let out a sigh of contempt. Seeing how excited she was to speak, Nina might have already harbored it for a long time.

Ethan ignores Nina's complaint. Their relationship is only cousin. Ethan regards the Twins as his sister when he decides to become his second guardian. Ethan is relieved when Nina becomes more selective because of her presence. Men are horrible creatures.

Nina put her face on the table, looking like a dead fish. "If it's like this, I might end up as the Holy Maiden."

"Aah!" Nina slammed the table suddenly with a big smile. He looked straight at Ethan. "I was totally unthinkable. Compared to looking for a man who looks like Big Brother, why doesn't Big Brother make me a girlfriend too? It's not fair to just be Erica!", though!",

Ethan froze with such an unexpected proposal. Sure, thinking about Ethan dating Erica, it's not impossible to date Nina. Besides, they are not siblings. So, legally and morally passed.

"Ap– What are you saying, Nina!?" Erica who was normally calm looked agitated. His lover was about to be snatched right in front of him, there was no way he could calm down.

Nina retorted casually as if she was unaware of Erica's anger. "Hm? why are you so angry? I demand justice. You've been hogging Brother Ethan all along, haven't you? Share with your sister!"

Erica was unable to reply to Nina's opinion. He understood the feeling of his twin. If their positions were changed, it was impossible that he would be happy.

However, understanding is not the same as letting go.

Hugging Ethan's arm tightly, Erica looked at Nina with a wary look. "can't. At least .. for now."

The tense atmosphere occurred when the twins were struggling with razor-sharp eyes. Nervous war caused by a man ... Ethan could not help but laugh bitterly at how vulnerable the two's blood relationship was.

"Alright, stop. We're in the kitchen. Let's finish the cooking first." Ethan tries to break up the stare fight between the twins.

Erica did not immediately release a hug in Ethan's hand. He still continued glaring at Nina like a rabbit that felt threatened. Finally, Nina who relented from the contest, turned her eyes away with a small laugh.

"For now I will retreat. However, I will continue to watch and wait for the gap."

Erica did not back down and answered Nina's challenge blatantly. "I thought you'd wait for the rest of your life."

Ethan breathed. He does not believe in being involved in a love triangle, not with anyone else, but with his own cousin.

After a few minutes that felt like so long, Ethan, Erica, and Nina sat together at the dinner table. Today's dinner menu is a special, tofu bacem and vegetable crack for Ethan.

Ethan and the Twins begin a quiet dinner with no chat. They focus on eating dishes that are already available at the dining table.

"Ah." Nina groaned suddenly, breaking the silent atmosphere. "I forgot to tell Brother. The entire Gehenna Guild Member will be coming at the end of the year."

"Oh? Really true?" Ethan seemed happy when he heard the unexpected news.

The Gehenna Guild was the Organization Ethan founded in [Eden]. They all contain people who have above average talent. Ethan trains them to prepare for the appearance of the Hell Gate and the Tower.

"They said they wanted to celebrate the New Year and the Eden World Cup victory party. They're really confident."

"... The play-off round is only starting today, right?" Erica was amazed by the confidence of the Guild members. Although, he knew very well the strength of his comrade.

Ethan laughs. Of course, just like the others. He already knew the result without having to wait until the Grand Final. "If so, I might have to go down the Mountain to buy some premium meat."
