Chapter 5. Convince

Reo's face flashed with an expression of relief, while Ella and Roberto both felt moved. The words were like a fresh breeze that removed the heavy burden from their shoulders.

Ella, kissed Reo's forehead and head crest many times. He was very happy with the statement of the results of the match test.

"However, keep in mind that the process of bone marrow transplantation is a complex and risky procedure. There are many factors that must be considered before deciding whether this procedure will be performed" the medical team told Reuters.

"We understand that this is not a decision that can be taken easily. We'll discuss with the medical team and make the best decision for Reo."

Roberto, nodding while looking at Reo and Ella in turn, while Reo looked at the two adults before him with a sense of haru.

"Reo, very grateful for the efforts of the two of you. Mama ..."

Ella smiled gently, hearing and seeing Reo with a ray of happiness that radiated because of the hope to heal.

"Mama's always been here for you, honey. Whatever you need, mom will always be able to meet and support you."

They left the waiting room with an increasingly intense feeling of hope and anxiety. However, they knew that every step they took, be it the transplant process or not, was a step they took together on this journey.

Despite being very young, Reo has a keen instinct and reasonable hesitancy towards people he does not yet know. After hearing news of Roberto's spinal cord match, Ella decides to talk more simply with Reo.

One afternoon in the hospital playroom, Ella sat next to Reo drawing with crayons.

"Hey, honey, do you know anything about the spinal cord? Who wants surgery tomorrow." Ella asked a question.

Reo nodded and looked with curious eyes at Ella, alternating with the direction of the picture book she was coloring in.

"That's in the body, right?" ask her back, with a nodding answer.

"Yes, that's right. The spinal cord is like an aid to our body. Sometimes, there are kids like you who need extra help from adults who love them."

Ella smiled gently, giving a slight explanation of the spinal cord while rubbing Reo's back.

Reo raised his eyebrows hesitantly, thinking that the painful thing would be felt.

"A grown man, kayak who?" reo asked confusedly.

Reo looked at Ella with a questioning look. He thought that Roberto, changing his decision by refusing to provide help.

"She's not going to help me?" tanyanya.

"Of course not, honey. He wants to help you get better. He's like a hero who comes to help when you need help."

Again, Ella gives hope to the child. Reo send thought of Ella's answer with a serious face, but there was a glint of confidence flashing in his eyes.

Ella stroked Reo's head gently. "You don't recognize him now, but after some time, you get to know him better and know that he's coming with good intentions."

Reo, looked at the picture he had finished coloring, then gave a small nod.

"I want to know him, especially if he really wants to help me."

Ella smiled happily.l with the way Reo behaved. Although it is classified as not wearing a filter when talking, but it is the real Reo. Natural and courageous.

"Of course, Reo. You have time to know him well. The important thing is, we're all here for you."

They went on to draw together, ending the day with hope and a small step in building a strong bond between the two of them and also with Roberto.

"How, Ella?"

Ella is quite surprised by the arrival of Roberto who meets her, then asks questions that she never imagined.

Although Roberto sincerely wishes to restore the relationship with Ella, Ella realizes that her top priority right now is Reo's healing and well-being.

After thinking at length with the answer to take, Ella carefully expressed her feelings in response.

"Roberto, I really appreciate your good intentions and your efforts to improve this relationship" Ella said sincerely.

"However, right now my main focus is Reo. She's going through a difficult struggle with her health, and I want to give her all the attention and support she needs."

Roberto nodded with understanding, though his expression looked a little disappointed at Ella's reply just now.

"I understand, Ella. I don't want to add more pressure to this already difficult situation. Reo, that's all that matters."

Ella smiled faintly, appreciating Roberto's unhurried understanding as before.

"Thank you for your understanding. Maybe someday, when things get better and quieter, we can talk more about our relationship."

Roberto nodded, his face reflecting his hope and willingness to give Ella the time and space she needed.

"I'll wait for that exact time, Ella. Most importantly, I wish Reo could pick and get back to health."

They end the conversation with a deep understanding, knowing that despite the uncertainty regarding their future relationship, Reo's current goal of healing and well-being remains the highest priority.

Ella and Roberto together step forward, hoping that the future will bring happiness to all of them.
