Some Verses on Praise to God
“Then glorify your Lord and be among those who prostrate themselves (salat)” (Q.S. Al - Hijr 98)
“And glorify your Lord before the sun rises and before it sets.” (QS. Thahas :130)
“And glorify your Lord when you stand up.” (QS. Ath-Thur :48)
“Then glorify your Lord and ask Him for forgiveness. Verily He is the All-Receiver of repentance.” (QS. Flashr :3)
The apostle of Allah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam ordered to bow down in thanksgiving when the glad tidings were reported. So the noble companions immediately bowed in gratitude when they obtained favors or glad tidings.
Abu Bakrah radhiyallahu ‘anhu said, Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, when he found something encouraging or reported good news, he fell to prostrate to Allah Ta’ala.” (CHR. Abu Dawud. 2774. Shaykh al-Albani said that this hadith is shahih).
Day by day, sin by sin we commit, obedience by obedience incised a gaping wound and black stains in our hearts, Most Holy of God!! It is as if there is no resurrection day, as if there is no day of vengeance, as if there is no omniscient Being looking at all works and all that is beset in the mind, in the darkness of the night especially in the light of day, innallaha bikulli syai’in ‘aliim (Verily Allah, knows all things).
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said which means :
“O you who believe, repent to Allah with the repentance of Jesus (pure repentance). Hopefully your Robb will cover up your mistakes and get you into the jannah (heaven) that flows beneath the rivers, rivers, and streams, on the day when Allah does not despise the prophet and the believers who are with him; while their light shines before and at their right hand, they say: ‘Yes our Robb, perfect our light and forgive Us; Verily, You are Powerful over all things.’” (Qs. At Thrace: 8)
Before we die, Ask Allah for forgiveness right now, in time we will return to the place of almighty, So before the apocalypse comes, from now on we have to be many privileged, prayer 5 time should never be abandoned and other obligations
Because it happens that tomorrow we have entered the month of Ramadan, there are some things that I want to arrive also about Ramadan, Currently we are at the beginning of the month of SYA’ban. One month before the holy month of Ramadan. The opportunity to get ready, so that Ramadan is more meaningful.
Abu Bakr al Balkhi Rahimahullah said,
“The month of Rajab is the month of Planting, the Month of Sya’ban is the month to irrigate the tanam, while the month of Ramadan is the month of Harvesting (pahala).”
We can not imagine how worried someone when tomorrow has started the End of School Exams or Final Semester Exams (UAS) but themselves are not ready. Scary haunting shadows, pale face, sleepless, restless etc. Worry not to pass, worry about getting a red report. Red raport in Ramadan, more frightening and more worth worrying about. The prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ 「,
“Then someone who finds the month of Ramadan has passed without being forgiven for his sins. And woe to anyone who finds his parents (still alive) but does not make it into heaven.” (CHR. Tirmidhi and Ahmad)
Therefore, we need to prepare carefully before meeting Ramadan.
Expand Worship in the Moon Sya’ban
Ramadan is no longer a time for warming muscle stretching, but it is time to fight to achieve victory. Sya’banlah opportunity to prepare supplies for battle. To succeed in this Ramadan. Ready to learn, get ready to get used to active worship. Once met ramadan, science is ready, worship has become accustomed to vigor.
The Prophet reminds us to fill Sya’ban with plenty of worship.
From Osama bin Zaid, he said, “I asked the Prophet, “Yes the Prophet, I do not see you fasting often in one month except in the month of Shayt?”
He said, which means:
Sya’ban becomes a neglected month, because it is flanked by two glorious months, Rojab which includes four holy months (haram months), and Ramadan. It turns out, this condition only makes the month of Sya’ban a special month. Where to worship in this month, is very special. Because to be able to remain enthusiastic in neglected times, it takes a great struggle. So that the reward is also large.
Imam Ibn Rojab Al-Hambali rahimahullah explained,
This Hadith is an advice to fill a time that is often overlooked with worship practices. And fill the time that is ignored with worship activities is loved by Allah ‘azza wajalla. As the Salaf scholars did before, they filled the Maghreb and Isha with sunah prayers. When asked the reason they replied, “This is a time that humans often ignore.” (Latho-iful Ma’arif p. 251)
Another article that shows the primacy of worship at the time neglected, is the hadith about the seven groups that get the shade of God on the day of the apocalypse, among them, are,
Youth who grow up in worship.(HR. Bukhari)
Youth is a long time, so it is often neglected for worship. Therefore Allah gives a special reward to those who successfully struggle to fill their youth to worship.
So Sya’ban, is the month of worship, whose worship in this month also serves to train themselves to actively worship before meeting Ramadan.
Fasting Exercises In The Moon Sya’ban
As recounted in the hadith of the friend of Osama bin Zaid above, the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) filled many of the days of the month of Sha’ban with fasting. The aim is, because this month the annual practice is appointed to be reported to Allah Ta’ala.
Another reason is, to get used to fasting, so that once you meet Ramadan, you can do fasting perfectly from day one. Because he's been trained for a long time.
Ibn Rajab rahimahullah huanhu explained
There are scholars who are of the view, that the fasting of the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) in the month of Sya’ban, aims to exercise before undergoing Ramadan fasting. To meet Ramadan is not with a heavy feeling. He has been practicing fasting and he has felt the delicacy and sweetness of the fasting Sya’ban in his heart. So that entering Ramadan with full strength and spirit. (Cited from: Nida’ ar Royyan 1/479)
Fasting is just one of the various worship activities that color the holy month of Ramadan. There are other services that are ordered to be done in the blessed month, we also need to prepare. Such as alms, qiyamul lail, al Qur’an tadarus etc. So that once we meet Ramadan, we have light alms, light qiyamullail, light read Qur’an. Because I'm used to it.
True says Allah ‘azza wa jalla,
Be armed, for indeed the best provision is takwa. (QS. Al-Baqarah :197).
To the extent that the Salafussholih used to say,
The Moon of Sya’ban is the month of reading the Qur’an.
Habib bin Abi Tsabit rahimahullah, if entering the moon Sya’ban he said
This is the month of reading the Qur’an.
Imam Amr bin Qais rahimahullah when entering the month of Sya’ban, he closed his shop (trade leave), then he filled many of his days by reading the Qur’an.
Thus, hopefully this advice is useful for listeners and those who read all.
