The Marriage Tragedy Mixed
Chapter 26. Don't Abandon Your Wife.

"I'm sorry, Mama" said one of the three young men, a middle-aged woman who was also black, with short curly hair that had partially bleached.

"Go there!" the woman's orders.

"Yes, Mama. We're leaving." The three young men raised their hands and passed.

The woman approached Jana while commenting on a smile. "Hello," said.

Jana nodded as she returned the smile of the woman, who was now sitting beside her. "My name is Dorothy. Just call Mama Doodoo. You speak English, don't you?"

"Little bit" replied Jana.

"What's your name?" ask the woman who asked to be called by the name of Mama Doodoo.

"My name is Jana." It felt strange for Jana to always talk to people using foreign languages. Even with Joshua he often speaks Indonesian, because Joshua has become proficient.

"Pulp. Hmm, your name sounds good. Where you from? How long have you been living here? You live alone?"

It took a few minutes for Jana to understand Mama Doodoo's question. "I'm from Indonesia. Just two days living here with my husband."

"Your husband is American?"

"Yes, Mama."

Mama Doodoo nodded. The two then engaged in a warm conversation. The woman apparently lives on the same floor as Jana. She offers the girl, if she is lonely left by her husband, Jana can come to visit anytime.

Jana is thrilled to meet a kind neighbor, even though she is much older than him. At least, Jana felt a little amused.

By ninepm Jana and the neighbor were chatting, Joshua had not yet returned home. Finally, Mama Doodoo offers Jana to wait in her apartment.

"Here, write a message here, and just hang it on the door, let your husband know where you're at." Mama Doodoo gave Jana a paper-like greeting card along with her pencil.

Jana followed the woman's idea. Afterwards, she followed Mama Doodoo into her apartment.

Inside the woman's apartment, Jana feels she is in Africa. So many ethnic trinkets typical of Africa that women install everywhere.

"You hungry, Jana?" ask Mama Doodoo.

"Yes," joked Jana shyly. He has been hungry since. The reason is, today she only ate fried noodles that Joshua brought this afternoon, before her husband left again.

"I have a lot of food. You take it easy." The woman opened the curtains covering the door to the kitchen.

Jana waited patiently even though her stomach was already rebelling wanting to welcome food. Moments later, Mama Doodoo came out from behind the curtain bringing a large plate of garlic bread, and scrambled eggs mixed with peas and various dried foliage seasonings.

"I hope you like it, Jana." Mama Doodoo placed the plate on the table and allowed Jana to enjoy it.

"Mama didn't eat?" tanya Jana, like an Indonesian who likes to mince words.

"Yes. We eat with one plate only" said the woman. "Normally the children in this building come to just ride lunch or night. So, I always cook a lot."

Jana nodded. Mama Doodoo is a good person. Perhaps, this woman was some kind of reservoir for the underprivileged.

"I don't have any children. So, I'm really happy to invite the kids in this area to eat at my apartment." Mama Doodoo seemed to be able to read Jana's mind.

"That's a good mama," praised Jana.

Mama Doodoo. "Good people in Manhattan are rare. Let me be one of them. I'm just doing what my conscience says."

Mama Doodoo noticed Jana's movements devouring bread. It really resembles the abandoned children that are around this area-Harlem. Make him smile with pity.

"What does your husband do, Jana?" ask Mama Doodoo.

"I don't know" replied Jana as she chewed the bread.

The middle-aged woman frowned. "Didn't he tell you what his job was?"

Jana shakes. She never asked Joshua for anything, fearing that her husband was angry.

"And you didn't ask?"

Jana's back is shaking. "Never."

Mama Doodoo sighed softly. "And he doesn't think of you alone at home without food, without money?"

Jana grimacing. "Last noon he came home for a while to give me lunch. But, I'm getting hungry again fast" he explained with a potluck grammar.

"Pity you, son," said Mama Doodoo concerned. She often met intermarried couples such as Jana and her husband. The average wife from Asia, abandoned by her husband. Repotnya, they are not so proficient in English, do not have many acquaintances, or even permanent activities.

In the end, they were just stuck in this country.

"Jana, whenever you want to come walnut, just come. I'll always be happy to receive you."

"Thank you, Mama. Mama is very good," said Jana moved.

Jana does not need to ask what Mama Doodoo's job is, why the woman - although not rich, but can help other people who are not foreign. Importantly, he felt very lucky to meet that black woman with that shady face.

What happens if he doesn't meet Mama Doodoo. It would definitely be the months of the three black men who had been troubling him, and also starving until Joshua came home.

A knock made the two women turn towards the door. Mama Doodoo got up from her seat and stepped towards the door. The door knocker peeped from a small lens hole in the middle of the door.

"Maybe it's your husband" Mama Doodoo said as she saw a handsome young man with blond hair standing at the door.

Jana hears Mama Doodoo's brief chat and the man who is none other than Joshua. Jana's heart was so happy to hear Joshua's voice. She misses her husband. Even though they only split for a few hours.

"Next time don't abandon your wife. Pity her," mama Doodoo cheered as she opened the door wide. "Jana, is this really your husband?"

Jana grimacing. "Yes, Mama," she said shyly.

"Come, go home" Joshua asked as he looked towards Jana who had just finished one last piece of bread.

After thanking Mama Doodoo, Jana followed Joshua to their apartment which was still on one floor.

Joshua's face looked unhappy. Jana doesn't know, Johsua is upset because of her business out there, or because Jana stopped by Mama Doodoo's apartment.

"Why are you in the neighbor's apartment?" joshua asked as soon as they were inside their apartment.

"I met Mama Doodoo outside. He's helping me push the young man who's bothering me."

Joshua's eyes were round. "You go out, alone?"
