"You go out, alone?" Joshua's eyes were round. "This area is not safe, Jana!"
"I'm bored. Hungry, dizzy," complained Jana while pursing her lips.
Joshua massaged his forehead. He had forgotten to leave money for Jana.
"I'm sorry" he said later. He who was upset, now his eyes soften.
"No papa, Baby. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met Mama Doodoo."
"I don't know everyone in this building yet. It's Harlem, Jana. You should be more careful. There's a lot of crime here."
"Why did you choose a place here?" ask Jana wonder.
Joshua pulled his hair. "Can I say something?" tanyakanya.
Jana nodded happily. Looks like Joshua will tell you the problem he is facing.
"My parents are such jerks!" maki Joshua surprised Jana. The girl was a little shocked, Joshua was cursing at her dead parents. "They gave most of the inheritance to the orphanage. And I'm just getting a little money, to rent this place, and to live a few months while I'm looking for work."
Jana was shocked to hear Joshua's story. Too bad. Joshua was hoping for that legacy. But reality does not live up to expectations.
"No papa, no, Baby, we live here. I don't have a problem."
Joshua snorted bitterly. "It's not about you!" He raised his voice.
"Owh," said Jana Lirih.
"I had to rent this narrow apartment. Supposedly, if my parents weren't assholes, I could've lived a good life by now." Joshua breathed heavily.
Jana understands. In other words, Joshua did not care if Jana was comfortable or not living in this cramped apartment. He only cares about his interests.
"Do I have to work here?" jana asked, taking the initiative to help her husband's finances.
"It's not that easy. You should have a green card first, Jana."
"What is that, Baby?"
Joshua breathed heavily. At the moment he is not in the mood to explain Jana's question. "Let me think about it, okay?"
"Yes, Baby."
Joshua stared at Jana. He shouldn't have brought Jana along. The girl is adding a burden to her. Everything he had planned was gone.

One month living in Manhattan, Jana begins to adapt to the weather, food and all the new things she encounters. And today is the first day she will meet her same-sex mothers; marry an American, whom she met through an Indonesian women's association site in Manhattan. By the name of the association.
To be honest, Jana is not very suitable with the members of the Melati society, because it seems they are not much different from mothers in Indonesia who like to show off things, even the children they have.
However, Jana needs friends to just hang out or do other activities.
The meeting was held at a cafe in downtown Manhattan. A cafe that is quite luxurious and of course the price of the menu must be expensive.
"What kind of husband do you work with, Jana?" tanya Yola, a sweet black woman with a mediocre face but her makeup is so glamorous.
Jana, who had never talked about her husband, seemed confused to answer him. "Snake, Ma'am."
Of course, the husbands of the Melati guild members, all of them had good jobs. There are stock brokers, there are doctors, there are restaurant managers and various other established professions. Only Joshua did not have a steady job.
"Owh, absorbency. Oh, that's it, huh?" timpal Ratna, whose appearance is no less glamorous than Yola.
"Yes, Mrs Ratna" replied Jana.
"The courtship isn't investigated first, is it? What profession of your husband. The cost of living in Manhattan, tuh, expensive, loh," said another woman with a short haircut; Nike. Judging from his stern jaw, it seemed that he was not a Javanese.
"Maybe the origin of the handsome," kekeh Yola made Jana smile wryly.
The four women then engaged in chat about branded goods they have. While Jana only listened to their chat, because they did not understand the things they were talking about.
Until, over time, Jana felt excluded by itself. He felt like a fool among the four women. In fact, they did not involve Jana in the chat, because they knew Jana would not be able to keep up.
"What are you graduates, Jan?" ask Yola after the chat about branded bags ended.
"SMK, Ma'am," replied Jana as is.
"Oh, just a graduate of SMK. Yeah, where can work here." Atmini said so. In fact, he did not really understand the procedure of working in America. However, he must be seen to understand everything in front of people who have just set foot in this country.
"Yes, gotta go to school again, dong. The equivalent of SMK in Indonesia is not sold here."
"If we have all graduated from college in Indonesia. So, we have supplies here. Our husbands are all well-established, Jana."
Jana could only nod. Confused what to answer. He realized that these women were proud of themselves in front of him.
"Indo girl, what, huh?" ratna's words made everyone turn their eyes to her.
"What's how?" ask Atmini.
"Yes, just choose bule. What matters is bule. Do they think all bule, tuh, rich, huh?"
Jana felt Ratna was talking about her who according to the woman, carelessly chose a stranger to be a husband.
The other three women laughed at Ratna's words. While occasionally glancing towards Jana.
"Yes, most of the village girls are innocent."
"It looks like many, deh, Indo girls who originally chose Caucasians, exposed to KDRT cases, theft, and others."
"Oh yeah?"
"Here is the case, no, Yuli Handayani?"
"I haven't."
"I've already."
"That's a big deal, huh?"
"Si Yuli was killed by her husband."
"Are Americans married?"
"Yes, we're talking about the case of naive Indo girls."
The atmosphere became quite crowded at their table, as the four women did not stop gossiping. They talked about it without thinking about Jana's feelings.
"The handsome capital of his feathers, huh?"
"Yes, eat handsome mana doang mana can," nike kekeh, greeted giggling others.
"If I were, anyway, ogah. At best to interlude his feathers. Spend time together last night. Uhhhh!"
Jana just smiled wryly in response to the chatter of the women.
"We don't miss, you know, jan."
"It's okay, Ma'am," said Jana awkwardly.
"Udah, don't talk about it. Ntar there is a baper," kikik Atmini while glancing at Jana.
"Just relax, Ma'am," said Jana trying to reconcile with her own feelings. He grabbed a cup of warm tea to wet his throat.
