
The Story of the Prophet Ishaq Complete From Birth to Death. Prophet Ishaq was the second son of Prophet Abraham after Prophet Ishmael. His mother was Sarah, who was also the parent of the prophet Jacob. The prophet Ishaq was sent to the people of Canaan, especially in the city of Hebron (al-Khalil), because his people did not know God.
Birth of Prophet Ishaq
Before the birth of Ishaq, Sarah and her husband Abraham received good news from God through the angel Gabriel.
In the message, the angel Gabriel conveyed the message that Sarah would give birth to a son named Ishaq who would later become a prophet.
However, Sarah smiled as she felt astonished and strange. She felt strange because there was no way she and her husband could give children if they were old enough, namely Sarah was 90 years old and Prophet Ibrahim 100 years old.
Ishaq was born in Cana'an in 1761 BC.
Ishaq was the second son of Abraham and Sarah after Ishmael.
With Ishmael, he became the successor of his father to preach in the way of Allah.
Prophet Ishaq Married
When Abraham was very old, Ishaq was not married. Abraham did not allow Ishaq to marry a Canaanite woman because his people did not know God and were foreign to his family.
Therefore, Ibrahim ordered a servant to go to Harran, Iraq and bring a woman from his family.
The woman in question was Rifqah bint Batnail bin Nahur, brother of Ibrahim who was later married to Ishaq.
But it turned out that the test that had befallen his mother's father, also experienced by the Prophet Ishaq. His wife is a barren woman.
The Prophet Ishaq continued to pray to Allah. He was born by His miracle. It is not impossible for God to give back this miracle.
The Prophet Ishaq and his wife continued to pray with strong hope and trust. After a long wait, the miracle came.
Rafiqah was pregnant and it turned out that God gave her twins. It is ‘Iish or Esau and Yes’qub. How happy is the Prophet Ishaq. He was awarded two sons at the age of dusk.
One of his sons became an apostle. He was the Prophet Ya’qub who later became the father of the Prophet Joseph, Bunyamin, and his brothers.
From the children of Ya’qub bin Ishaq this is the forerunner of the Children of Israel or the family of Israel. Called Isra’il because the Prophet Ya’qub often traveled at night. Later from the Children of Israel was also born a series of prophets and apostles.
Allah mentions and praises the three prophets, namely Abraham, Ishaq, and Ya’qub in His words, "And remember Our servants: Abraham, and He will not forget, Ishaq and Ya’qub who have great deeds and high sciences.
Verily, We have sanctified them with (given them) a high morality that is always reminding (man) of the Hereafter.
And verily they are by Our side the best of the elect." (QS. Shaft: 45-47). Prophetship of Ishaq He was appointed Prophet after his father. He is known as a scientist and a wise man.
Ishaq was sent by God to preach in the Palestinian territories, especially the Kan’an and Sham areas. Ishaq continued the preaching of his father, Ibrahim, who was old. As with other prophets, the prophet Ishaq was commanded to teach the ways of prayer, fasting, zakat and Hajj and to leave the deeds of immortality to his people.
Death of Prophet Ishaq
After completing his prophetic duty and as God's messenger to preach the religion of God for his people, he died.
Nabi Ishaq died at the age of 180, he was buried in Palestine with Prophet Ibrahim and Sayyidah Sarah. His body is buried in Palestine, precisely in the cave Makfilah, Hebron, or Palestine now.
Above the Makfilah cave is now built a mosque building named Ibrahim Mosque. In this cave also buried Prophet Ibrahim and his wife Siti Sarah, Nabi Ya’qub As son of Prophet Ishaq As, Rafqah wife of Prophet Ishaq, and also Leah wife of Nab Ya’qub.
Prophet Ishaq In the Qur'an Prophet Ishaq is mentioned several times in the Qur'an. Q.Y.S. Al-Baqarah verses 133, 136, 140. "Are you a witness when death will pick you up Ya’kub, when he said to his children, “what did you worship after I left?” they answered, “we will worship your god and the gods of your fathers Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq, (i.e.,) the Almighty God and we (only) surrender to Him.
" (Q.L. Al-Baqarah: 133). "Say, we believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and in what has been sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq, Ya’kub and his grandsons, and to what Moses and Isa gave and to what was given to the prophets of their Lord.
We make no distinction between any of them, and we surrender to him." (Q.L. Al-Baqarah: 136). "Do you (the Jews and the Christians) say that Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq, Ya’kub and his grandsons are both Jews and Christians? Say “do you know better or Allah and who is more unjust than those who hide the testimony of Allah who is with him?” Allah is not indifferent to what you do.
" (Q.L. Al-Baqarah: 140). Q.Y.S. Ali-Imran verse 84. "Tell (Muhammad) “we believe in Allah and in what was sent down to us and which was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq Ya’kub and his grandsons, and what was given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets of their Lord.
We make no distinction between any of them and only to him do we surrender." (Q.L. Ali Imran: 84). Q.Y.S. An-Nisa verse 136. "We have revealed to you as we have revealed to Noah and the prophets after him, and we have revealed (after all) to Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq, Ya’kub and his grandsons; Isa, Ayyub, Jonah, he said, Aaron and Sulaiman.
And we have given the Book of Zabur to Dawud." (QS. An-Lisa :163). Q.Y.S. Al-An’am verse 84. "And we have bestowed Ishaq and Ya’kub on him. We guided each one; and before that we guided Noah, and to some of his descendants (Ibrahim) Dawud, Solomon, Ayyub, Joseph, Moses and Aaron.
And thus do We recompense the good people.
" (Q.L. Al - An'am: 84) Q.S. Hud verse 71. "And his wife stood (next to him) and he smiled. So we told him the glad tidings of (birth) Ishaq and after Ishaq (born also) Ya’qub.
" (Q.L. Hud: 71). Q.Y.S. Joseph verses 6 and 38. "And thus, the Lord chose you (to be a Prophet) and taught you some of the precepts of dreams and perfecting (his mercy) upon you and to the house of Ya’kub, who was the son of God, as he had perfected His favor to both of your grandfathers before that (i.e.) Abraham and Ishaq. Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
" (Q.L. John :6). "And I followed the religion of my fathers: Abraham, Ishaq, and Ya’kub. It is not proper for us (the prophets) to associate anything with Allah. It is from the gift of God to us and to man (everything); but most men are not grateful.
" (Q.L. John :38). Q.Y.S. Abraham verse 39. "All praise be to Allah who has bestowed upon me the old days (me) of Ishmael and Ishaq. Truly, my Lord is truly almighty (permitting) do’a.
" (Q.L. Abraham 39). Q.Y.S. Maryam verse 49. "When he (Ibrahim) has distanced himself from them and from what they worship besides Allah, we confer upon him Ishaq and Ya’kub. And each one of us became a prophet.
" (Q.L. Mariam :49). Q.Y.S. Al-Anbiya’ verse 72. "And we confer to (Ibrahim) Ishaq and Ya’kub as a gift. And each one of us made a righteous man.
" (Q.L. Al-Anbiya’ :72). Q.Y.S. Ash Saffat verses 112 and 113. "And we gave him the glad tidings of (birth) Ishaq, one of the righteous.
" (Q.L. Ash Saffat: 112). "We bestow upon him blessings and upon Ishaq. And among his grandchildren there are those who do good there are (in addition) who are unjust to themselves with real.
" (Q.L. Ash Saffat: 113). Q.Y.S. Sad verse 45. "And remember our servants: Abraham, Ishaq and Y’kub who have great powers and (high) sciences.
" (Q.L. Sat :45). Q.Y.S. Al-Ankabut verse 27. "And we bestowed upon Abraham, Ishaq and Ya’kub, and we made prophethood and books unto his descendants, and we gave him his recompense in the world; and indeed he is in the Hereafter, including the righteous." (Q.L. Mist :27).
