The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 38.5:Veru Revolt

The clattering of footsteps could be heard echoing in the depths of the cave. The sound of iron touching the ground could be heard filling the entire cave that was repeated again.

"....."

The figure of the black armor that had fused with the darkness could not be seen but only one could be seen that his bright red eyes in the darkness lit up in one eye.

"Hmmm...."

Just as he stopped stepping into the depths of the cave, a silvery light in large size in white and black became a ball darted rapidly towards him.

Depressing.

As the black armor pointed the sword shrouded in darkness in front of him that was held upside down protected him. The sword that initially looked like a knight sword turned into a large-sized sword that should be raised both hands were able to be lifted in one hand.

The black and white balls spread around the cave to ward off the presence of black armor protected by the dense black light that formed a semicircle to make it safe.

"You're really bad huh, Veru. You've been swallowed up by darkness. Really don't look the same as you did before."

Behind the voice that came from before him, a man with bright red armor like fire was clearly visible in the dark cave. The armor helmet covering his face had been completely gone which featured a face known by the black armor sausage.

"Kanae's..."

Disappearing from where he was, the black armor with a strong footstool that contained a lot of weight in one swing of the great sword that had been held by the man with bright red armor, Kanae made it difficult for him to maintain his position.

He was completely blinded by the darkness.

On his left arm that did not hold back the swing of the sword with a weight that was difficult for any human to fend off, a silver-colored sword appeared then pierced the stomach from the black armor nearby.

"It's a pity you don't excel at this without a clear mind of yourself."

Jumping back and holding onto his wound, the black armor that saw him quickly healed him easily.

One of his left arms that contained a patch of blood that had a wet fate holding his stomach made the wound made from the silver-colored sword puncture could be removed with a silvery light that had been dimmed by the darkness.

"Kanae's..."

With an echoing cry in the depths of the cave, a black figure of armor lunged straight towards Kanae.

Kanae who repeatedly repelled the swing of the sword from the black armor, lowered her head from the swift slash like a lightning that was hard for humans to read, and leaned her body forward to slash the lung portion of the black armor.

Trang!

Unfortunately Kanae's efforts did not produce any results at all.

The black armour that managed to protect the body from his figure against the silver sword Kanae was holding, she knew that it was not only coated by steel but a quality ore material that was famous as Mythrill.

"God!"

When the shout was made, a gust of shock wind caused Kanae's body to bounce far back making her body form some rocks in the cave. His blood-stained head was firmly held by Kanae, and smiled at what her best friend had done to her.

"You really suck at fighting."

His expression that looked a light smile at his estimation as expected, Kanae changed her expression to serious and focused.

Around Kanae's arm, several black and white balls mixed together were seen floating.

Unable to wait any longer, Kanae ran crashing into the black armor that was still silent standing in place.

"Death!"

Tring~

Duars.

The series of explosions caused by Kanae on the body of the black armour made the surroundings become filled with dust grains of the ground.

"Sad. He can still hold on."

Seeing and feeling his reachable presence, Kanae believes the attack should have been able to cripple or penetrate his powerful black armor. But, his estimation was completely wrong so he knew it would only be a futile act.

"Kanae!"

The amount of mana enveloped at the tip of the sword began to enlarge which made the black armor slash through the empty air many times resulting in a long black line of thin air that turned into black color towards Kanae.

"Dearly so. I won't be able to hurt you."

Surprised by the black figure of the lost armor, Kanae looked around to ascertain where it was.

"Death!"

Just when the sword emerged from the ceiling of the cave, Kanae who realized it was able to hold it back with the silver-colored sword she was grasping.

The heavy focus produced by his movements actually made Kanae unable to hold it in for longer as it would cause a great explosion if she constantly held back the greatsword from belonging to the black armor that kept on cornered himself.

"Yahoo!"

Making a white-colored shockwave, the dazzling light seen on the black armor made him paralyzed in seeing things around him.

It's opportunity.

Kamae who expected this to happen, he easily kicked the stomach from the black armor firmly. A number of mana flowed at his feet which made him enveloped by the bright blue color of the sea which caused the black armor to bounce and slam on the rocks in the depths of the cave.

Not missing the opportunity, Kanae who put up a swing prepared to make a final attack.

Several white-colored lights that looked like stars were visible on both sides floating behind his back. Slowly the star turned towards the tip of the sword and began to shine a light of darkness that turned into silvery light.

"This is my strongest new technique."

Running straight and jumping salto, Kanae slashed at him once which caused injuries to the black armor that could not feel anything.

"It's all over."

A dazzling white light began to be seen in the crevices of the black armor that slowly enlarged and began to form a star that shone in the depths of the cave.

"Aaaarrrrggghhhh!"

Unable to withstand the pain that spread all over his body, the figure that was behind the black armor slowly began to fall to the surface and become unconscious.

The darkness inside him had been completely replaced by the figure of a helpless man who was not wearing clothes on his upper body.

"You're really pathetic huh, buddy."

Looking down at the helpless man, Kanae took out a sword from empty air. The sword he issued was not a great sword but an ordinary sword made from low-level materials commonly used in the training of royal knights.

"Good bye."

Just as the words were spoken, the sword pierced into the heart belonging to the male figure without feeling any sympathy for what Kanae had done to him.

•••••

He really is very sorry.

Regardless of the memories he saw, the woman could only sympathize over the condition that occurred to the knight who was sitting pensively before him.

"I. I don't know what's going on."

Recalling without a single answer from inside him, the man seemed puzzled over what had really happened.

According to him, he was last conscious and remembered being in the basement behind the iron bars that held him. But, the other memories he had not found at all were what left him astonished over what had happened to him before.

"Do you want to come with me, Knight Master? I can give you a place to live."

"I'm sorry, I can't because I'm afraid of hurting you."

Rejected outright by the man in front of her who was contemplating in her sitting, the woman only smiled slightly at her conjecture of rejecting him.

"It's okay. I won't be that easy to get hurt by you."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I'm a strong person so it's impossible for me to be hurt by you."

Repeating his words once more, the pensive knight looked at him who was confused at the intent of his words.

The woman who suspected that was the case, chuckled and laughed.

He did not expect that the Conferred Knights of the Kingdom who should be strong enough were easy to swallow by the darkness. Not only was he swallowed up by the darkness, he who had killed countless innocent people and sinned made himself confused over what he had done before that he was not aware of.

He's really funny.

Still looking at the man before him with a light smile, the knight stood up and took a few steps away from him.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?"

"You're not very polite, Knight. I was the one who saw you for the first time and saved your life so you should thank me."

"....."

Her expression that looked annoyed and resentful, as well as her bitten lips were truly a cute sight to behold in person by the woman in front of her.

Alright. Enough to work on it.

Around his body was a black shadow that wrapped around him and changed the appearance of the woman wearing the clothes of the townspeople into a short white-haired man.

"What do you think, Uncle? Do you still recognize me?"

"You..."

His clenched hands were then released, as well as his knees falling to the ground actually made the man appear slumped when he found out that the woman was the one who had previously lost control because it was swallowed by darkness.

"Why are you here, Arthen?"

"That's what I want to ask you."

"What do you mean?"

The two looked at each other for quite a long time before one of them, Regard explained all the events to Veru.

"You who have suddenly come to this place attack me in the darkness that envelops you."

"I'm..."

Unable to say anything, Veru who was silent in his place still thought hard about what had really happened.

Can't remember it.

Closer to Veru and holding his head with his right arm, Regard gave a memory of what happened to him directly through his head.

This....

The pieces of memory began to appear slowly in his mind making them fuse to form a large number of memories that previously could not be realized.

"Impossible."

"No, that's what really happened."

"....."

His pale, frightened expression looked directly at Regard, the man before him. Regard who looked at Veru without showing any sympathy for his problem made Veru convinced that he looked demeaning to her.
