The Regard POV
The moon shines brightly in the darkness of the night, the cold air, the quiet atmosphere, everything feels right to be enjoyed alone in the middle of the harbor.
I want to say that, but I have no right because Lien City is going through its own crisis, a crisis where they, the people in such a city; the townspeople, the adventurers, the, the merchant is experiencing terror that unknown how long it lasts.
What their goals and desires are, I still don't know.
The only thing I managed to know was that they were active at night, which is why I roamed outside the city just by sitting on the port bridge of Lien City while ascertaining whether it was true or not.
Regarding Fuuya and Sasaki, he deliberately fell asleep and soundly with my body because I transferred the consciousness of my real body to this body. That's why I managed to escape the sense of smell and hearing that Fuuya had so it was safe for me to do so.
"Will this really work?"
As long as I got up from sitting, walking back and forth around the harbor, there was no sign that they were coming to attack me.
Could I have misjudged it? No, I don't think that's the problem.
"That's...."
Surprisingly, I saw a long blue haired girl walking towards me. Her luxurious clothes, her body that looked mature and ideal, as well as her two breasts that were the same size as Shilph and Friya, she approached me.
Could he be the mastermind?
"Night, Master."
"Night."
It seemed that there was no hostility emitted by him so it was safe to continue talking to him.
"Who are you? Why are you wandering around at night? Do you have a need with me?"
Looking back at him, he just smiled at me. It could be said that I could not be considered a fool by him just because I carelessly allowed myself to be approached by him.
But, the only thing that bothers me is about his whereabouts. It was as if he had an aura filled with dignity throughout his body, which was also fairly small that could be emanated clearly through my instincts.
"I am a city resident. I'm just here to see if the rumors are true or not. The reason I approached you was to warn about Lien City happening right now."
As he sat by my side, he turned his head with a friendly smile that signified he did not want me to be his enemy.
That nice. Since I was lazy to fight, I decided to follow this conversation in order to get additional information from him. Especially if he is a resident of the city, whether by chance or not, I want to get directly through them.
"So, what do you want to warn me about?"
"The enemy that terrorized Lien City.he is not an enemy that can be underestimated."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean he's a top-tier demon whose abilities can't be measured by any human."
I-i understand.
Not that every demon is strong, they are still defeated by the abilities of my Necromancer class if I am serious about fighting. But since he said something like that, I wonder who he is, why he can know that the culprit is the devil.
"How did you know that?"
"Do you believe in the existence of Hydra, sir?"
"Hydra's? I don't know about that."
"He is a dragon that inhabits Lien City to deal with the various problems that are difficult to overcome by them, the residents of Lien City."
Hydra, I don't know if she looks the same as in the fantasy books I read in my youth or not, I hesitate to decide what she looks like.
Although the world is no longer there are dragons, I'm sure most people think they're gone. But, I also don't know whether to assume the dragons are still around or not, I myself do not know for sure because I have never read the story by my parents or the books in the library before.
"Master, can you come here?"
"All right."
Following the wave of her hand, the blue-haired woman flicked my forehead slowly making me pause for a moment as it was being done.
It was not an ordinary jolt, it was a memory he had in the face of the demons threatening Lien City.
"Hows it? Do you understand that?"
I-i understand.
He was not a resident of the city in Lien City, he was one of the dragon legends that protected this city from all sorts of troubles, Hydra.
It was visible from all the auras he displayed, the large amount of mana flowing out from his body, as well as the memories given to me about his fight against that demon, he said, Stahark made me feel like he was the one to watch out for.
"Why did you give me the memory of the fight between you and him?"
"I just want you to know that he's hard to beat."
"It's hard to beat ya."
Subconsciously, I displayed a smile and chuckled at his words.
It is true, demons are hard to defeat, including Stahark who according to the memories of Hydra, he is the most dangerous demon.
Stahark who has the ability to suck where his enemy makes an important weapon to fight his enemy, it is a troublesome thing. Especially if I accidentally showed all of my abilities to her, sooner or later, she would instantly absorb them easily.
"There's one more thing I'd like to warn you about, sir."
"What's that?"
"Regarding Lien City..."
•••••
According to Regard, Hydra's words have a point, the words about Lien City that had been set up by several traps by Stahark made him curious and examined it, it turns out that every place has a thin red rope that is interconnected, it hangs on every building, and can kill it if the person gets caught in the trap and disappears.
This could be said to be a clever and cunning act.
Apart from the demons that should only slaughter an entire city with hordes of monsters, Stahark was not like that according to Regard. The way he moved quietly, observed it from behind the darkness, and decided not to disturb anyone was completely different from the other demons that Regard had been fighting.
"I hope this matter can pass easily huh."
While muttering like that in a soft tone, his face looked up at the ceiling which saw that the moon was covered by clouds making the entire area around it dark.
"Looks like you're enjoying your alone time, son."
"Yes. Why are you in a place like this, sir?"
Surprisingly to Regard, that figure somehow, he arrived behind Regard.
The figure did not say anything but just smiled at him when he knew all his strength and abilities were better than he had been in the past.
He was none other than the Demon King, which Regard himself did not understand why he could attend Lien City which was supposed to be supervised by Hydra.
"May I know why you're here, son?"
"Simple, I wonder why Stahark deliberately played this role in doing bad things to them."
"Do you hate him?"
"certain. He is the root of this problem. Letting the reputation of my group be bad, assuming that we are lost people, don't you think the same?"
At first Regard who said it indifferently turned to annoyance because he realized that his efforts in eradicating evil behind dark nights were a routine he did for days.
He himself expected nothing of his activities, on the contrary, he just wants to help people so that they do not suffer the fate like him in the past and he wants to keep the human figure in him by doing good to people who need his help.
But, Stahark easily snatched everything in just a short period of time.
Lien City who was terrorized by those claiming to be The Necromancer, Regard could not forgive for having slaughtered almost the entire population that died and disappeared by him to be forgiven, the only thing Regard can do is torture her more severely so she can feel that despair means more everything than death itself.
"So, what'd you come here for?"
"I want to tell you about what you're going to do after getting revenge on him."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean about your journey that will end with revenge."
Hearing his words repeated, Regard still did not understand his intentions.
He who got up from his seat, turned his back towards the black-robed figure who seemed to be watching himself who was looking at him in annoyance.
"So tell me what you meant."
"Good."
The black-robed figure explained in its entirety to Regard about the next goal that made Regard not expect that he would have to go through all of this directly, which he thought was the end of everything before, it was a beginning that had just begun.
"I understand."
"I just need to do that, right?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"All right."
Defying the figure of the Demon King, he looked up again to the night ceiling which began to see moonlight emerging from behind the clouds.
•••••
"By the morning, you two!"
"Morning."
"Morning."
Inside the inn room, Regard who had been sitting on a chair by the table in his room, turned his head towards them, greeting the two with a friendly smile on his bright face.
"How did you sleep?"
"Quite good."
"Yes. I don't know how long I've been asleep."
Hearing Fuuya and Sasaki's words, Regard gave a small smile to the two who were still wiping his eyes that were walking towards him with his mouth still yawning.
"You go take a shower first."
"Good."
"How are you, Regard?"
"I'm done doing it. Look at!"
Overall, Fuuya noticed the appearance of Regard who had looked neat starting from; the tips of his neatly combed hair that was still wet, his clothes were replaced by long white t-shirts, the long grey pants worn, as well as brown leather shoes really look good to assume that he has already taken a shower first without his knowledge.
"How's it?"
"Yes, I think you're right."
Although Fuuya was disappointed not to be able to bathe with Regard, she decided to go with Sasaki to the women's public bath so that she could finish immediately to return to the nearby Regard.
Sasaki only smiled at the expression of annoyance and disappointment from his rival, he secretly laughed softly without Fuuya realizing about him being laughed at from behind by Sasaki.
